Actually, I remember watching the jan 6 event on the day itself and I wondered why the armoured cars were parked just around the corner and nobody was getting out. They were there for ages. I thought they went to the site of the attack and were told not to deploy until told to do so. That was my impression. The fact that the national guard didn't show up immediately can only be because trump told them not to get involved until he said so. Remember, trump saw these attackers as 'his people', fighting 'for him', so you can imagine how much he enjoyed watching it on tv. It's no wonder he ignored all the people telling him to tell the attackers to stand down. If he gets back in the white house, and with putin's help there is a strong possibility that will happen - not because the people vote for trump, but because of cheating - then there will be many attacks like that of jan 6 all over the country, if trump wants that to happen.
