From one old lady, this song and these two groups are amazing! I don’t speak Korean but I know how to use subtitles and look up lyrics and they are SO worth it! Thanks for checking this out. The 13 minute documentary on making this song is worth the watch!💜
You are so right!! I have always been an avid reader and maybe that's why I adapted so quickly to subtitles. But initially, my daughter had to drag me into listening to BTS and then into K-pop in general and ultimately the K-drama worlds because of the language barrier.. Don't know why I waited so long! .... it's been nearly 5 years and other singers pale to them (except maybe Adele) and Korean television series and films are so superior to most of ours..... of course Cassandra got me to watch V in Hwarang as my 1st K-drama, so she knew I would love it...
Yes, BTS is the biggest group in the world. They sell out stadiums all over the world and just sold out 4 nights at SoFi Stadium in LA before sales to the general public even began. It will be their first in person concert in 2 years since the pandemic began. They've also had 6 number 1 songs (including My Universe) and 5 number 1 albums in the US. Just letting you know Coldplay aren't American, they are British. BTS have over 250 songs and only 3 are fully english, but all their songs are a mix of Korean and English. All their music videos have subtitles you can turn on and there are plenty of lyric videos and websites that have the english translations for BTS songs.
BTS is arguably the biggest act in the world right now. While many western acts (Taylor Swift, Adele, Ed Sheeran) are popular in English speaking markets, BTS is popular and selling everywhere including South Asia, Middle East and the African continent. BTS has 15 songs that reached #1 on the iTunes chart of more than 100 countries. The only other act that has at least 100 is Adele with "Hello". Even her new song hadn't achieve the feat yet. BTS is the 2020 Recording Act of the Year, selling more pure copies than anyone else globally. Go to a BTS mv and something it is hard to find a comment in English because the comments are in foreign language (not referring to Korean).
You're describing BTS' struggles. Others have tried to shut them down or put them in a box or because they are Korean they don't want to let them into the music industry. BUT TALENT WILL ALWAYS WIN!

Much of their music touches on social issues and they have been recognized as a voice for the voiceless around the world.

Thank you so much! We old people love to hear that. We are definitely old. I am considered a senior citizen because they give us discounts now at our age.
BTS and Coldplay are pretty similar in their views on the world. They probably get along well cuz they can relate to each other. I suggest this pretty comprehensive fan made youtube documentary on BTS that kinda sums them up: "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2021 Update!)" by the Asian Theory. To learn about them as a group and individuals .... 1 - The video by Noshi called "A 2021 BTS GUIDE: learn to tell the members apart" is one of my favorites to learn the members individually both individually background and singing style & discography..... There are other really good ones out there also, such as 2 - "This is BTS: introduction to BTS" by xCeleste. 3 - "An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update) " by Ida S
Im sorry, if it will sound rude but at 1:15 I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Translation exist, you know? For example with BTS, if you watch from official channel, they have cc. In other cases, you can check internet for translation. There's always a way in this era of technology.
The number of reactors who say I wish I knew what they were saying annoys me to the core. Turn on subtitles, most BTS videos have them. But then you have those who say they can't read and watch the video at the same time. There are so many resources for english lyrics, or lyrics in any language for that matter so there should be no excuse.
I actually said that I don't care what they say. I love to watch them dance. I love their music. I don't need to know what they say. I could not sing along anyway. I do like BTS. My intention is not to annoy you. I believe I have reacted to 3 of their songs. They are amazing. I am just an old guy who enjoys listening to your music.
@@oldguyreactions It's totally cool if people just want to listen to their music and just vibe with it, as long as they don't complain about not understanding what they are saying. I think the reason why people say stuff like check out the lyrics is because BTS lyrics are 1 of the many reasons why their fans love them so much. Their lyricism is really great and should be appreciated. Especially since all 7 members write songs and have pretty much co-written every song they've made. And sometimes a person thinks a song is about something and it's actually about something completely different. And you did say in this reaction you didn't know how to figure out the words BTS were saying. So if you ever are interested in what they are saying turn on the subtitles. And I'm happy you are open to listening to BTS because a lot of people aren't and usually it's because of the language barrier.
@@crystalsnow1138 Got it, I will check out their lyrics. I do like to analyze good lyrics as well. So I will check out their lyrics next time. Thank you for the discussion.
@@crystalsnow1138 Ditto! It they can't read and watch, read the lyrics first, then watch the video or watch it 2x, concentrating on the subtitles, one of those times.
You should react to their documentary (13 min) on BANGTAN TV. It has cc for translations. Thanks for reacting!!! They have more in common than just the music BTS has hundreds of world wide charities and they represent Unicef have given millions they also are special envoys for the Korean government for the youth of the world. They have spoke at the UN three times on the climate. Very humble good talented young men. They match up. Check out their music. Use CC to see words
There's a short behind the scenes documentary of my universe making (it's in BTS' youtube channel and you *must* turn on the subs) and I highly recommend you to check it out :)
#BTS is the most philantropists band in this generation. It's Album and Tour Love yourself is a major donor to UNICEF for feeding and protection of underpriviledged children across the world. Everyone of them have their respective advocacies and charible works. And, they were already famous globally before Coldplay colaborated with BTS. Coldplay did not brought in BTS, it went to SKorea to record the song. It was a collaboration. This version is the My Universe with remix of BTS' #Suga.
BTS was originally a Korean hip hop group. Since 2013 they have evolved into a unique genre of their own. These are all the BTS “official” music videos in reverse order of release. The original also shows them recording it. They have also done 3 other versions, including a “short” on 2020-09-11; a beautiful drone visual of Seoul (The Four Seasons of Seoul” on 2019-12-30, & an amazing drone visual mv on 2021-01-09. My personal favorite "other version" video is "DANGER (Mo-Blue-Mix) , featuring THANH". Thanh is an Australian-Vietnamese singer. This song has a R&B vibe with some great lyrics added by Thanh. There are loads of their other songs including some of my favorites: “Dionysus”, “Ma City”, “Truth Untold”, ”Outro: Tear”, “House of Cards”, “Lost”, “Dimple”, “Butterfly”, etc. and their solo, rapline, vocal line, short films, comeback trailers, etc. not included.
Please watch the mini documentary of how this collab of BTS and Coldplay came about. BTS songs always touches on women empowerment, bullying, LGBTQ, social injustices and other relevant issues and incorporate them into their themes and songs besides they write, co produce their own songs, and perform their own songs. Please check them out you won’t regret it.
As you probably already know, BTS has 7 members.... they are a very close "family" and totally genuine. The group has 3 rappers (RM, J-hope, & SUGA {aka Agust D} and 4 vocalists (Jungkook, Jin, V, & Jimin). The best way to get absorb each member's style is to dive into their solos, as well as the Rapline & Vocal line performances. Here are some suggestions. While some have MV'S, some are even better live (be sure to find ones that have subtitles cc's) RM : Change ft. WALE mv ; Joke ; Seoul J-HOPE : Airplane mv ; Outro:Ego mv ; Chicken Noodle Soup mv; HEY MAMA live performance (amazing!!!) Suga : Agust D self-titled mv ; Daechwita mv ; Interlude:Shadow mv RAPLINE : Outro:Tear live at Wembley ; Ddaeng live w/ eng sub ; DDaeng live w/ end sub Jungkook : Euphoria live ; My Time live D2 on BTS LIVE 2; Begin live Jin : Epiphany live ; AWAKE live ; Moon live V : Singularity mv ; Stigma live ; Inner Child live Jimin : Serendipity live stage mix ; LIE live stage mix ; FILTER live Vocal Line: The Truth Unknown live ; House of Cards live ; Lost Live stage mix ; Dimple live stage mix Just for fun check out their "Ma City" live when they all just broke loose and also have the band GHOST backing them up onstage. One of my personal favorite live performances.
You should listen to one of their English language songs if you want to sing along, Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance, all #1 Billboard hits. However, the three English language songs don't have particularly deep meanings but are awesome songs that will lift you up and make you happy.
I am enjoying your reactions. I'm old too and getting to know new music. Could you please listen and react to Maneskin - they are an Italian band, who won Eurovision this year with Rock song. They are 20-22 years old and have been playing together since middle and high school. They are now in the U.S. and will be opening up for the Rolling Stones this Saturday in Vegas! They have lots of great songs, including Zitti e Buoni, La Paura del Buio, Moriro de Re, Coraline, Torna a Casa, Vent'Anni, etc. Their lyrics are amazing, especially in Italian. Their most popular songs in the US are in English - cover of Beggin' and I Want to Be Your Slave. I would love to see your reactions to them! Thank you!
They're not just having pipe dreams. Both bands "walk the talk". Of course you can't generalize, but you can definitely make a difference. I grew up under these principles and they definitely work. It's just that you have to try hard to make it work. And not necessarily in a big comunity, but if you can be a respectful human being, a good and kind parent, sibling, child, teacher, etc., one can make a difference. It's not about being perfect, it's about being tolerant, inclusive, not racist, xenophobic, etc. It works, I promise you. And as for understanding their language, just turn on the captions. Or Google their lyrics in English. Have a nice day 💜
I am from Philippines I don't know how to speak korean but I do now how to click the subtitle... and understand BTS's positive message.. and I love thier beat and dance moves
I enjoyed the reaction but I feel obliged to say that in today’s day and age, with all the technology we have, I truly believe we can find a way to represent everyone’s best interests. Take the alien example you used where people need different amounts of air to breath. So why couldn’t we have certain zones with 50% oxygen, and some zones with 100% oxygen, etc? Most people will be fine temporarily with less oxygen and aliens are likely the same, otherwise people wouldn’t be able to survive at different elevations. We could have emergency oxygen masks in various places in case anyone needs one. Just saying - like why is fighting the first answer? There are always collaborative solutions.
I totally respect the "hope" that people have throughput history. I have hope as well. I just know historically there has always been people who have taken advantage of other people. We have communist governments, terroristic governments, religious governments and socialist governments. Then, you throw in America who has its problems in demanding and policing the world. Every one of them has their own way of thinking. We would love to have unity among them all. It has just never happened historically in the human race over 1,000"s and 1,000"s of years. Our short lifespan of 80 years is a flash in history. I do hope that someday it can be done. It is just statistically not very probable according to history. Thank you for your awesome comment. I appreciate the discussion.
@@oldguyreactions It's true, it's hard to imagine it ever happening. And because it's so hard to cater to EVERYONE's different views, needs, likes, etc., it makes me appreciate songs and videos like this one that engages our human sensitivity to try to be inclusive. I think IF we all TRY, we can make a difference in the world we each live in, like, our homes, our neighborhoods, our work places, the places we socialize, dare I say it....SOCIAL MEDIA!! We gotta stop beating each other up for having different opinions. I love when when we see the effort of bands and organizations TRYING to bring people together. It's awesome! ;o)
You’re really missing out on the best aspect of BTS’ music if you don’t turn on the closed captions. Their music is meaningful, not just bangers. Since 2013 they have been advocating for the voiceless. Much of the time taking risks by going against their own government and societal norms. Please turn them on when watching their MVs.
So BTS are a seven member group from South Korea, and their Leader RM is fluent in English and Japanese as well as his native language Korean. The other members can speak and understand the language, just not as fluently as RM. They have gotten much better over the years, and they are still taking English lessons. Please react to the mini documentary about how this collaboration happened. This was a collaboration of Unity and Love. BTS and Coldplay have similar hearts and like minds. Their message is the same. BTS and Coldplay are both making a difference in the world. BTS is genuine and kind, and they spread a message of love and Unity. And it looks like Coldplay is the same. My deeper senior discount comes at age 65. So technically I am not there yet. But I am still old. I guess it really depends on how old you are. If your older than me, then yes.....I am not old!
Good reactions and keeping an open mind to listening to BTS. As many commented that you both should watch the behind the scenes documentary of Chris Marting going to Seoul, South Korea to record with BTS. Here's the link (please turn on the close captions) th-cam.com/video/viM_c-Fc7sc/w-d-xo.html It really makes you appreciate how talented, humble and genuine both Chris and the guys of BTS are! They so respect each other as artists and both their messages in their songs spread such postitive vibes into the world!
I realize you are new to the K-pop world, but be careful assuming things about South Korean culture. Just a bit of correction to something you said about South Korea's covid vaccinations ... they did not "force" anyone to get vaccines because they DIDN'T NEED TO... they are currently at a 78% rate of FULLY vaccinated citizens.. (US is at 59%).... their goal is 100% of all citizens being fully vaccinated.. they might have reached that goal sooner if vaccine supply was completely available. South Korea also established a strict quarantine policy immediately for anyone traveling to South Korea... a 14-day quarantine in government supervised motels/hotels, at travelers expense, as well, as lots of other restrictions. Early on their biggest infection cluster happened through one church organization in Daegu (Suga's hometown thus the D in Agust D his rapper persona) who didnt follow the rules per say. As for mask mandates.. not necessary in South Korea because it is very common for them to were them for a variety of reasons such as sick people commonly wore them to lessen spread of other disease. Other reasons mask wearing is no big deal in South Korea are: as a way to cover pimples, block out air pollution and, eventually, protect wearers from getting or spreading airborne viruses. Approximately 62 people have died per million in South Korea, and the US stands at approximately 2,330 people per million. Maybe our country's poor vaccination rate maybe needs some improvement???

Idk why but I feel like he could palm my face and throw me across the room
Coldplay × BTS (a.k.a ColdTan) is legendary collaboration.
Theres english captions just turn on the cc
Great 😊 mv reaction keep up the good hard work keep grindin love ❤️ videos sm
Legandary BTS and Coldplay collab best song ever....
BTS cover FIX YOU by coldplay first. that is why there is BTS and Coldplay collaboration now.
Turn the Closed Captions on their MV and you will know what they are saying.
Yes, BTS’s company put subtitles on their videos, it would have been useful for the Coldplay channel to put subtitles on this one too.
To learn about them as a group and individuals .... 1 - The video by Noshi called "A 2021 BTS GUIDE: learn to tell the members apart" is one of my favorites to learn the members individually both individually background and singing style & discography.....
There are other really good ones out there also, such as
2 - "This is BTS: introduction to BTS" by xCeleste.
3 - "An introduction to the 7 members of BTS (2021 update) " by Ida S
The documentary "My universe" with Coldplay and BTS is interesting too, it's available in BTS youtube channel
World Language is Music. Brilliant Insight💜💜💜💜💜💜
I will give you purple hearts.

What a great reaction! Look forward to your opinions on some of BTS own tracks.💜
BTS is the greatest group right now and top 3 artist right now
I LOVE YOU BTS& WITH LOVE COLDPLAY
BTS was originally a Korean hip hop group. Since 2013 they have evolved into a unique genre of their own. These are all the BTS “official” music videos in reverse order of release. Does not include live or other versions.

There are often several versions of the Official" music video.
The "Ioniq: I'm On It" is a promotional song for Hyundai. But you barely notice the car because the mv & song are so good; similar style as "Film Out"
"Come Back Home" was released on July 4, 2017 as remake of Seo Taiji’s song "Come Back Home" for Seo Taiji 25th Anniversary Remake Project.
“With Seoul” is a BTS song and film highlighting Seoul as a vacation spot.
I'd love to see you react to the documentary of this song
BTS I LOVE YOU
Please watch the mini documentary of how this collab of BTS and Coldplay came about. BTS songs always touches on women empowerment, bullying, LGBTQ, social injustices and other relevant issues and incorporate them into their themes and songs besides they write, co produce their own songs, and perform their own songs. Please check them out you won’t regret it.
I love BTS💜💜💜💜thank you for reaction 💜 💓
As you probably already know, BTS has 7 members.... they are a very close "family" and totally genuine.
The group has 3 rappers (RM, J-hope, & SUGA {aka Agust D} and 4 vocalists (Jungkook, Jin, V, & Jimin). The best way to get absorb each member's style is to dive into their solos, as well as the Rapline & Vocal line performances. Here are some suggestions. While some have MV'S, some are even better live (be sure to find ones that have subtitles cc's)
RM : Change ft. WALE mv ; Joke ; Seoul
J-HOPE : Airplane mv ; Outro:Ego mv ; Chicken Noodle Soup mv; HEY MAMA live performance (amazing!!!)
Suga : Agust D self-titled mv ; Daechwita mv ; Interlude:Shadow mv
RAPLINE : Outro:Tear live at Wembley ; Ddaeng live w/ eng sub ; DDaeng live w/ end sub
Jungkook : Euphoria live ; My Time live D2 on BTS LIVE 2; Begin live
Jin : Epiphany live ; AWAKE live ; Moon live
V : Singularity mv ; Stigma live ; Inner Child live
Jimin : Serendipity live stage mix ; LIE live stage mix ; FILTER live
Vocal Line: The Truth Unknown live ; House of Cards live ; Lost Live stage mix ; Dimple live stage mix
Just for fun check out their "Ma City" live when they all just broke loose and also have the band GHOST backing them up onstage. One of my personal favorite live performances.
삶에 관한 좋은 말씀 잘 들었습니다.^^
You should listen to one of their English language songs if you want to sing along, Dynamite, Butter and Permission to Dance, all #1 Billboard hits. However, the three English language songs don't have particularly deep meanings but are awesome songs that will lift you up and make you happy.
You should watch the documentary they did together !!!
you have on the subtitles to figure out what they are saying
we are not telling you to learn korean lol
Pls react to bts and coldplay my universe documentary
Have a nice day 💜
hi please react to coldplayxbts inside my universe documentary, this is the making of my universe. hoping for your reaction thanks❤
Translations / close captions exist
Yess,I hope you react to more BTS!please react to Introduction to the 7 members of BTS(2021 update)by Ida S
I am from Philippines I don't know how to speak korean but I do now how to click the subtitle... and understand BTS's positive message.. and I love thier beat and dance moves
Love youre reaction..pease react more BTS music video.. 🙏

Pls reacr to highly suspect lydia
