To those who don’t know, he isn’t doing this to be “unsafe” it’s that he is tricking them making them think that there is shoulder straps, but the ride doesn’t actually have should strap it has a lap buckle.

A Kevlar lap buckle oh no. You should sue auto manufacturers for "using a small cloth buckle for safety" . Amusement rides are inspected daily too.

Seatbelts are incredibly strong, I raced cars for years when I was younger and never had to worry about the belts in a crash, they always did the job. In a car you let go of the steering wheel before impact if you have time. Your arms can't brace you against the huge impact force and the steering wheel can whip round injuring your thumbs or wrists. The seatbelts on a ride like this aren't subjected to any force they just keep you in place.

It's kind of counter intuitive, but it's actually free fall for all the bodies involved (seat and passengers). The only forces in act here are air drag and them potentially squiggling in the seat. But if you isolate that, it's like floating in the space where their relative speeds one to another are small. (I suggest playing KSP or similar space flight simulator game to understand what I'm talking about).
The only problem in the entire fall is slowing down/stopping, but that force is actually keeping them pinned to the seat. Basically, if you had a really good seat, that has like a dent for their bottoms, it might be enough to keep them all together (once you remove the fear that might trigger then to squiggle, and add extra forces to the mix).

@@haljordan2197 and that ride is faster than free fall. Disney went to the Otis elevator company and said "so you know that cushioned start at an elevators descent? Yeah we don't want that." So Otis actually reinvented custom elevator drive motors that pull the ride car housing (which is separate from the ride car itself) down faster than what gravity would produce on its own. As far as mechanical engineering is concerned, tower of terror is one of the most unknown and under rated feats of all the Disney magic.

Uh.. POV generally refers to the Point of View of the rider (same thing as "first person view") ...this video was the point of view of the camera, but then again so is EVERY video 😆
