I am a Crispa diehard and idolized Mr. Atoy Co. I had my first encounter with atoy when I was an engineering freshman. While buying some supplies at Mapua bookstore. I think he was already about to graduate with his chem engg course batch '74.
Thank you, Julius for this interview. I was a Crispa/Atoy Co fanatic from 1980 (1st Grade) until the team disbanded 😄 Sila ang reason kaya natuto ako manood ng TV without sound. Ang chant namin noon is Crispa-nalo, Toyota-lo! 😂 They were part of my unforgettable childhood memories.
I remember my aunt , puno ng fosters ni Atoy Co ang room nya at everytime na matalo Crispa umiiyak and she influenced me to be Ato'ys fan. Ang saya ng high school life during Crispa & Toyota in PBA.
One of the best interview na napapanood ko. The best anchor meet most humble pba legend .
Crispa fan here.. Grabeee kasikatan ni Atoy Co at CRISPA noon at pag tumira mapalapit mapalayo fade away Sure Shot, magbilang ka na 😍🏀 Kung may 3 points cguro noon baka average score ni Fortune Cookie ay 40+ kasi laging 20 to 30+ang average nya every game noon 🙂
Thanks, Julius, for an entertaining interview with Atoy Co. He showed admirable humility. I am a Mapua alumnus and have seen him play many times for Che/Chm basketball team (intramural league). It is true, their team was always the champion due to his high scores. Sayang, when Coach Ike Liwanag of MIT Red Robins took over the Cardinals, Atoy quit the varsity team. Nalungkot buong school kasi major contender sa NCAA ang MIT at the time (vs DLSU with Lim Eng Beng). Good for him as he focused on his basketball career and the rest is history. May God bless him and his loved ones.
Die-hard Crispa fan here! Saw Atoy Co after watching James Taylor concert in April this year! Such a kind and accommodating person! Proud to be a Crispa fanatic through and through! 👏👏👏
This was a great interview, very enjoyable. It's good to see and hear from Mr. Atoy Co, whom in my opinion is beloved and dearly revered by Filipinos. Your story is inspiring and you are blessed a life well-lived. Also, congratulations to your 44 years of marriage. May God continue to blessed you and your family! Salute to you Sir Julius! 😊
So happy that I saw my idol! Thanks Julius for interviewing Mr. Atoy Co. I felt going back in my elementary days when I used to always watch basketball and a #1 fan of Mr. Fortune Cookie and the Crispa team🤗. Makikipagaway ako noong grade school ako kapag may sinsabi hindi maganda sa idol ko or sa Crispa team🤣. The more ko kayo naging idol ngayon dahil sa interview na ito. Mr. Fortune Cookie, YOU ARE AN AWESOME HUMAN BEING🎉 GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY!
Toyota fan here, but after watching the interview, i became an instant fan... he is very down to earth, a real icon in PBA. He is never short of sharing his stories after his stint ended in basketball, ganito ang masarap panoorin, napaka totoo, walang kayabang yabang.
Nice interview. Jaworski is my idol. But sometime in my younger years I heard about this man. A very brilliant player. Taliwas sa mg negative comments about him. The PBA always focus on Jaworski. Sure this man have greater contribution in PBA. I admired him next to Jaworski.
Toyota Fan here. Galit at Inis ako sa Crispa players noon not because of anything kasi ang gagaling nila. Tapos naka-grandslam pa. 😂😂😂 But looking back & watching this nakatuwa & brings back a lot of memories. Kudos & salute to all the Crispa & Toyota Management, Players & Fans. Their behind why PBA is here up to this day. Even if I'm a BGSM Diehard now. But still nothing compares during the Toyota-Crispa days.
My dad was an avid Crispa Fan. Lagi silang nanonood sa Araneta Coliseum. Yung neighbor namin used to work for RPN 9 kaya lagi may shots sila sa tv. Happy times 😍
Thank you Julius sana more interviews like this. Die Hard Toyota fan here pero aminado kami tinik talaga si Atoy Co and Bogs Adornado. When you get old and see your idols get old you have a better appreciation of them and their contribution to the game and life as well.

Si Atoy Co being an iconic Basketball Player, napakadown-to- earth. Wlaang ka ere ere, natural na natural. Funny pa as an actor…

We don’t have a television before so we used to watched PBA in our neighbor. My notebook from school was covered by Atoy Co’s face😂😂😂.I learned to bet in school bcoz of Crispa/Toyota games😂Sometimes I used to fight with my classmates if Crispa was lost the game😂Lots of happy memories & Atoy was right he was the first PBA player who reached 5k &10k points respectively. After Crispa,I switched to SMB & I’m a huge fan of the late Sky Walker Samboy Lim.Now I’m living in Toronto Canada for 25 yrs.I didn’t know any single PBA player. But I used to watched NBA here.Thank you soooo much Mr.Julius Babao for this interview. You’re the best❤More power,God bless🙏
My dad is one of his college professor in Mapua, everytime he talks about basketball he always mention Mr.Co as his former student 😊 up to now he is already 81 years old.
Watching this is like being down memory lane. I remember always seeing Atoy Co in many TV shows at par with Francis Arnaiz and Yoyong Martirez. They were famous TV guests that time and with youthful charms and sex appeal. Nice vlog again, Mr. Babao! Kudos!

so many learnings from the life of Mr. Atoy Co. Naglaro ang Crispa Team sa Village namin nung 1980s, through an invitation of sort kaya lang wala pa ako camera noon eh, sayang walang pictures 😅😀
Atoy Co is a one of a kind basketball player. --dribbles with his left hand, shoots with his right and can take off on either foot. Not even a Jordan, Lebron, or Curry can do that.
That was from 1986 to 1988. I am a fan of Robert Jaworski. Pero idol ko din si The Fortune Cookie during his time.

So nice to reminisce,So true in our place only one rich family have tv and they were so accommodating to let people of the whole barangay to watch the game
Crispa and Toyota were the well known teams at that time. People from all walks of life were glued to the game and basketball became popular with Filipinos. They contributed a lot to this sport making a mark that's why you can see many basketball courts and games even in rural areas.
Magaan ang disposition ni sir atoy friendly cya at very humble walang yabang.

I was 13yo then, influenced by my older brother who was a Crispa fan, and Atoy Co became my crush :))) I had a Crispa team poster behind my bedroom door. Yes, I remember naging GF nya si Alona Alegre. After PBA, naglaho na ang hilig ko sa basketball and was not an acting fan. 60yo now! Good to know now that he studied in Mapua. My father is an Electrical Engr graduate of Mapua (Bicolano din) and my brother is mechanical engr from UP. Those were the good old days except for the Martial Law!
Fortunato 'Atoy'Co the Fortune Cookie is my favorite Crispa player among others but in general Crispa is my favorite team in PBA during that time and Toyota is the most hated team, heheh!

Good for you Mr Atoy Co for bringing up the issues in the Philippines sports and showbiz!
Ang sarap kausap ni Sir Atoy Co. I can listen to him all day.🤗
I enjoyed Sir Atoy's story! I rooted for Toyota but a fan of Crispa players, too!
His a legendary legend in the basketball industry.. idolize buy many.... salute to Atoy Co very down to Earth....
Fortunato 'Atoy'Co the Fortune Cookie is my favorite Crispa player among others but in general Crispa is my favorite team in PBA during that time and Toyota is the most hated team, heheh!
