My 1st solo trip was New York for my 40th, best thing I’ve ever done. Been London a few times solo too. Next solo holiday is Majorca in October for a week - all inclusive I can’t wait

I'm going to Spain in November, Gibraltar first for two days and then onto to more beachy costal place. It'll be my first trip abroad for over 20 years and I'm going on my own! I'm excited and a bit apprehensive as well. All the usual concerns, catching the flight, checking into my ABNB, eating alone-exactly what you were nervous of- and then catching a bus to the second place, but, I have faith in myself that I'll be ok. I'm so pleased your channel was recommended to me and I loved reading your comments section with all the encouragement and affirmations on solo travel coz now I don't feel so alone in this. I'm on solo holiday now, in my country, but still yours video about solo trip to Ibiza helps me remind myself about all this advantages of being alone, which for me isn't nothing new.... but still everywhere you go there is a lot of people. From my experience, I recommend to booked such solo holiday with second purpose for example meeting, concert, something were you can feel bit more socialized, which helps sometimes to get out of our comfort zones, when we speak with other people.But after such event you spend your time on your own, or with others, because it usually great ocassion to plan things with others. I;ve never seen your videos, but you are so lovely, I enjoy that because it was real.
Of course we want to travel with you when you travel Again. I'm 40 now, Australian, I've travelled solo to Spain, most of Europe, Morocco, Israel & Palestinian territories, Iran, most Scandinavian countries and Iceland, I think that pretty much covers it, I've travelled with others to other countries and some of the same, it's just about confidence really, I've always doubted if I was doing things "right" in life, then it became clear the majority of people have no idea what they are doing, you just do your research and practice safety, obviously being a white woman in some countries it's obvious you're a tourist. I'm so glad I've been where I have, it's given me incredible memories, confidence & helped shape who I am. Only good things to you Jess. Kx

I would love to go travelling alone. I just love doing things at my own pace. I think the only bit I would struggle with is knowing what to do at the airport.(the process of getting from a to b ) but I'm sure someone would help if I needed it. I am really tempted to try it. Really liked the 2 Ibiza videos, never feel nervous about using the local buses, they are cheap and get you to various parts of the island..also the boat trips are incredible,if you liked Ibiza you will love Cala Millor in Majorca where i go loads to do and see. x
Thank you for these fun and interesting videos, Jess. I love to travel and have often travelled alone in Europe. Mainly to cities rather than the coast. My favourite large city is Rome, and your early morning walks in Ibiza reminded me of when I woke up extra early and reached the Trevi Fountain by 7 am and had the place to myself, so much nicer than jostling for a place to see the fountain with the constant crowds during the day and late into the evening. I've had a few travel problems while alone, in particular when I was stranded in Italy due to the ash cloud from the volcano in Iceland in April 2010 that grounded all flights for about 10 days. But looking back, it was an experience that I survived, learned from and made new friends. At the time, it was pretty scary! Here's to many more holidays now we can travel again, whether solo or with friends and family x
I went on holiday by myself to Corfu one year. It was fab. Did things in my own time which involved lots of chilling by the pool! Only issue I found was not being able to put sun cream on my back very well. It’s hard work with no help 😆

I love going on holiday on my own, as you said no waiting around for anybody. I was like you on sun cream for my back problem, but no problem I bought myself a stick with a pad at the end called Back Bliss I actually bought two one for sun cream one for after sun the pads are removable washing fantastic invention. I went thailand and Budapest on my own. Did a contiki tour in thailand so I met so many amazing like minded people. I ended the trip with a week solo travelling and stayed in hostels. Such a great way to meet friends. Budapest was a party hostel which was so much fun. They organise boat parties, spa and bus parties and bar crawls. Crazy but awesome

I did a trip to Alaska and New York on my own when I was 48 and it was great! The thing I missed most about not having company was arriving late at night at airports and no there was no one to meet me. I should have taken earlier flights and then it wouldn't have been so daunting. Planning another solo trip soon to Norway 🙂 Thanks for your inspiring vlog.

New York would be amazing. You can go solo and plan your own itinerary and go wherever you want to. Sight seeing, people watching in Central Park, coffee, Katz deli, White Castle, Bloomingdales, Carlos bakery, friends set, toy stores, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, world is your oyster. You can even do an excursion to Nigeria falls.
Super video, I decide to go for a first time on my own 2 years ago to Tenerife, just before lock down. I am a nearly 70 year old Granma. I loved it. I decided to write my grandchildren a series of their favourite stories whilst I was there. I went for 10 days to a hotel I knew. Next time, I’m going somewhere new. Sun cream (just cause I’m often at home without my husband nearby). I use the spray sun cream. It sprays well if you kinda lean and spray it. I’ve never burnt so and I am at the beach most days xx

For some reason you popped up on TH-cam as a recommendation. Loved both holiday videos and subscribed. Wonderful to see someone so young with the mental courage and the body courage to not only go on holiday alone but wear bikinis and not give a rats ass. I am booking this weekend a solo trip but for next year (my health won't allow it for several months) and watching your video confirms that I can do this. Unfortunately unless I loose a few stone I will never wear a bikini and I'm full of admiration that you have the self image to wear one. Thanks again for the fab videos x

This was a great watch. I’m planning on solo travelling to Ibiza (from Newcastle as it happens) so need to get it booked. I’m planning on going to some closing parties out there. Really surprised you said you wish you’d booked a week as that was one of a few concerns for me that I’d get bored on my own. Another concern was eating in a restaurant alone, so it was good to hear that you thought no one really cared

I do this for a few reasons including: -Safety -Cosy affective -Time saving -Meet people -Can see and do more because of the connections these tour groups have These tour groups may be a few days or over a couple of weeks. Walking tours or some more of a few hours tour is also a good option! Jess / Anyone who wants to travel solo...🤠☀️🤗 I think if your hesitate in travelling solo, start small and local and do an overstay in a nearby town, city or village. This way your not far from home, feel mostly comfortable / safe and don't have to worry about language barriers, cultural customs and if you lose valuables, it's much easier to sort out.

Sun cream (just cause I’m often at home without my husband nearby). I use the spray sun cream. It sprays well if you kinda lean and spray it. I’ve never burnt so and I am at the beach most days xx
When you were deciding when or whether to go into town, isn’t that just the joy of solo travelling, to do what you want, when you want....or not!!!! Good on you for taking that first step😎

Wonderful to see someone so young with the mental courage and the body courage to not only go on holiday alone but wear bikinis and not give a rats ass.
I am booking this weekend a solo trip but for next year (my health won't allow it for several months) and watching your video confirms that I can do this.
Unfortunately unless I loose a few stone I will never wear a bikini and I'm full of admiration that you have the self image to wear one.

This was a great watch. I’m planning on solo travelling to Ibiza (from Newcastle as it happens) so need to get it booked. I’m planning on going to some closing parties out there. Really surprised you said you wish you’d booked a week as that was one of a few concerns for me that I’d get bored on my own. Another concern was eating in a restaurant alone, so it was good to hear that you thought no one really cared

@@TheSliceOfJess It sure was. When travelling solo, I usually travel with a tour group as part of my trips. I do this for a few reasons including:
-Safety
-Cosy affective
-Time saving
-Meet people
-Can see and do more because of the connections these tour groups have
These tour groups may be a few days or over a couple of weeks.
Walking tours or some more of a few hours tour is also a good option!
Jess / Anyone who wants to travel solo...🤠☀️🤗
I think if your hesitate in travelling solo, start small and local and do an overstay in a nearby town, city or village. This way your not far from home, feel mostly comfortable / safe and don't have to worry about language barriers, cultural customs and if you lose valuables, it's much easier to sort out.
