    I'd heard the radio before, but it wasn't until I could see where the cars were that I realised Lewis followed the instruction to pit BEFORE Bono told him more rain was coming. I assumed he only pitted after that information. I am now more impressed as at that point he had the same level of weather understanding as Lando.

    • @peterporkeresq.2817
      @peterporkeresq.2817 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yep, but people are trying to make it out as if that was the deciding factor and McLaren didn't give the same information to Norris. Both drivers appear to have been given almost identical information at similar times during the race and they both made a judgement call based on said information.

    • @subsist99
      @subsist99 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lewis was explicitly told that the rain intensity was increasing 2:36, while Lando was told that the intensity will stay to the end of the race 2:24. Both are different messages, one implies the conditions will worsen and the other implies the conditions will stay how they are at that moment.

    • @carriew5106
      @carriew5106 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@subsist99 it's funny, when I listen to it in full it sounds like that is in relation to conditions on track at that point (i.e. from no rain to rain). Especially given it then stopped before it then started again, which I think is the bit that Merc got right and McLaren didn't.

      Again you're wrong, that message was after Lewis was already entering the pit and not before. Also, the intensity not increasing doesn't mean the track won't progressively get wetter, I don't think the rain really intensified that much, it's just that the track got wetter as the rain continued and Norris was told as much.
