Got a sunburst version of this guitar and my do I love the pickups... such a difference to the alnico V pickups i have on my old one. Baja 60’s is a joy to play!
I thought for sure a decent Fender telecaster would be out of my range and so picked up a Sire T7. I like the T7 but am seeing used Bajas for the same $. Needless to say I am kicking myself in the ass. Should have done the research. I love the Bajas.
Mine's a 2017, same color. I have two tele's, but the 60's Baja is the only one I play. Mostly play Strats, but I love the tone of this particular Telecaster. I think this guitar is a bargain considering it comes with custom shop pickups, brass saddles, vintage tuners, custom neck profile, etc. Sadly Fender just discontinued the Baja series of Telecasters. If you're looking, you'll most likely have to wait for a used one to pop up.
Thanks Sam - it is a cracking Tele indeed. So good in fact, that it might be the Tele that stops me buying other Teles....but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing
Just picked up the same guitar. Love the sound but not sure about that Pau Ferro fretboard. It’s so dry that when I bend the strings my finger rubs against the board. Does yours do this as well? Thanks, great vid👍
Mine's slightly older so still has the rosewood board, but I do find it quite dry. It's nothing that an application of lemon oil won't put right. I've got a few guitars with rosewood fingerboards, and I think this one needs oiling more frequently than any of the others.
Charles M I’ve got this guitar with the Pau Ferro as well. I hear you, seems a bit dry to me, definitely a different feel from what I’m used to, what with the rosewood, maple and ebony. As he said, I think some lemon oil is in order.
I thought Fender went to poly finishes pretty early. I have no problem with talking about the instrument BTW. It's why I clicked. I wanted information. A guitar will sound different through different amps, different mic's with different fingers. I take sound demos with a grain of salt. I seek information, thank you.
I have a 2014 60s Baja which is my No 1 guitar. Awesome piece of kit.
LOVE the Baja Tele range!! they such fun, great sounding guitars
Got me a 2008 Baja telly back in 2009 , 12 years ago. Checked the price range today , lol , this thing will never leave me alone .

Great video. Got me one yesterday. Most versatile guitar I've ever had. The sounds are fabulous!
I have one of these - in that colour! Absolutely best guitar I've ever owned. Thanks for the informative video Dave.
Nice in-depth video. The jam at the end really gave a good impression about the sounds this guitar is capable of.

Great video Dave. Ignore all the haters
I've got that one. Might get the 50's one.
Forgot to mention the earlier ones have rosewood necks, worth checking ebay.
Thanks for the review. I’m really thinking of buying one of these

I believe there's a model in the Vintera range which is an equivalent of the Baja
I'm getting this guitar!!
You won't regret it!
Yo tengo una igual, con el diapasón de Pau Ferro, se te fue un poco la mano con la reverb :-) Es una guitarra increíble.
