We spent a lot of time trying to figure out tree species everywhere we went.

I spent more time appreciating the different trees than thinking about managing the forests. NZ does a great job of their forest management! I did come across some guys with chainsaws doing some trail maintenance at Mount Aspiring National Park, but they didn't want my help I guess.
