Do not except compensation for a trailer repair . Trade the trailer back in against a new trailer and let the company pay the difference ! Explain to the company with the lost downtime and lost usage of the trailer this will be the least expensive way for their company . Make it clear to them this is a new 2024 trailer !
C- Hook, especially for banded coils,or Grapple! I hate going to those places where they use a strap or chain. Or even worse, places that use those hooked arms on chains and make you go up on the trailer to put them in the eye. Nope
I borrowed my trailer to a relative. A 3rd party operator rammed it with large unit. He paid for repairs. But it does not trail right. Abnormal tire wear, loss of mpg. It was decade old. If less then a year old? Replacement only.
That's unfortunate, at least it wasn't driver error and the company you were getting loaded at is responsible for fixing what they broke! And don't let them slow roll you or cheat you out of money they owe you for fixing the trailer and money for your down time 👍🏼
Hopefully your insurance company can just get another new trailer for you from their insurance company and get you rolling again quick and get you some down time pay.
then this is not a problem. just somebody complaining about buying a fancy alu flat bed trailer and expecting it to never get scratched. in the video why are they lifting a steel coil with a strap? but this is why all coils must be loaded with the eye level and pointed side to side. this way a huge J hook picks it up. never drops them. correct chaining keeps it in place for transit. -but that part is on you-.
Thank you for watching ! I’m not complaining because it got scratch ? They literally dropped the coils on the bed . I only had it for 2 months . Believe me I run my trailers hard meaning I put really heavy loads , messed up the side kit , rip tarps etc . The point here that they dropped the coils on my trailer they were secured as you can see they were receiving them , I made it from Ohio all the way to Indiana without . As I was getting my bills signed , the crane operator was lifting the coils with a clamp (not straps or C Hook ) as HE FAILED TO NOTICE IT WAS TWO COILS the coils were in the air as I was walking back to my truck I seen the coils drop to my trailer . The crane operator should have known better . I’m not sure why you’re blaming me for this ? They used the straps to pick them up from the floor . So next time you say I’m complaining please watch the whole video and stop assuming things . I been hauling coils for years ( that’s all I haul ) I’m more than sure I know how to secured them
The big question is, why are they laid flat if they wanted them upright. ? The next big question is, why is it a metal deck when your carrying steal ? In the UK we carry slit steel upright or flat depending upon whether they are crane off or forklift off. Dum
They are laid flat because the crane dropped them . They were standing upright with the coil rack but the crane op used the wrong clamps . My trailer is aluminum not metal btw
@@LEVEL777UP GREAT NEWS. Here on good ole planet earth we all say that Aluminium (Al) is classified as, , , , a metal. Tarrraaaar! It's like all metals, nice and shiny and guess what ? When metal is placed on metal, it's frictional forces are so low that they will slide easily. Frankly, as an old git of a truck driver, I can't see any WORSE metal than Aluminium to lay on a flat bed of a truck. Why??? Because its strength is not as good as many other materials like steel or wood and steel. And, it damages far roo easily. But. . .its nice and shiny and doesn't rust. I refer you to my previous opinion. The SOLE purpose of the truck is to transport other material around. I'm certainly not interested in frivolities like paintwork or aesthetics. It's ONLY there for doing ONE job. Apologies for the sarcasm.
Make sure you get compensated for downtime while your trailer is in for repair
They be buying a new trailer!! That is totally unacceptable. I wouldn’t settle for nothing less
Thats what im going to be fighting for lets just hope they was willing to pay
Insurance claim against the company, they have no choice but replacing the trailer ✅
Dude if I found even one small crack in a weld they would be buying a Brand New trailer...
I'd be wanting a brand new trailer
Thats what im going for no doubt about it .

The stamping plant I worked at only used c hooks for coils. No straps period. Too dangerous!
Smart people .
@@LEVEL777UP Tell me about it. Those coils were always in the air being dropped into the presses. No room for errors!

I hate when someone else breaks in my property before I do.
You got that right 😮💨
Do you ever haul grain on those sidekit trailers? I know guys that used to do that for return loads.
I havent loaded or seen anyone lately hauling grain .
@@LEVEL777UP some people did that years ago if they could not find anything else for a return haul. some people would haul produce on them also.
Did they cover a rental until the repair was finished or loss wages?
nope i had to get a private lawyer because they dont want to pay off time or the rental
I think it will buff out
😂😂😂 nice one

Correct . If it was the drivers fault right away they will be coming from us . Im hoping i get a new trailer
They is no fixing that trailer. It's aluminum so they will have to replace it with new. Non negotiable.
Make sure D.O.T. reinspects the trailer after repairs brother .that much weight could damage the frame rails .like you said at least no one was hurt .
Thanks for the tip
Don’t accept no BS patch work. It better still look brand new after the repairs. I see some ugly repairs on box trailers.
Wow
Hopefully your insurance company can just get another new trailer for you from their insurance company and get you rolling again quick and get you some down time pay.
I ended up getting a new trailer .Thank god but im not able to get them to pay the rental or off time so im fighting the case still
New trailer !! No exceptions !
Well let them gt u a new one
Dont forget to like and subscribed !
Dude had idiot run lift into side of my 2 week old truck tried to play dumb like the damage was there. Glad no one was hurt
That sucks . Hopefully it wasn’t that bad of a damaged like mine
I'm dropping the trailer there and having my truck checked
The coil laying on it's side on the concrete is going to be next to impossible to pick up
My opinion they can buy another trailer,
I hope so !🤞
They should be buying a new trailer... a coil drop definitely takes away from the integrity. Hate to see either way
100% no doubt . Im going to go this week to get everything figured out
@@LEVEL777UP any updates?
@@5FaLlEn5 still fighting to get a new trailer unfortunately
