the prize money in snooker is pretty poor really.. its not rocket science to see why there is corruption in this sport what with betting scams and match fixing..you have 128 player each season chasing the top prize money unless you reach the last 8 in most events the prize money is awful.
and most will not make a living from snooker..the prize money for the last 32 and last 16 needs to be much higher then perhaps the top 64 players will have a better income throughout the season..

Love these vids! New sub from me!
Would love to see this kind of video for the top 16 ranked over time 2010-2023 since the seasonal changes in ranking.
If you’d structure it like this one, with scores changing every ranking tournament of 13 years, I wouldn’t mind it af all if it’s like half an hour long or something.
But any kind of snooker stats are interesting!

40 percent deducted from that for income tax for UK based players

Not really coz a lot of the players pay little tax.

Snooker needs more money. Im not saying half a million isnt a lot but think it needs to increase. Been 500k for a while and that hopefully would be a catalyst for other tournaments to increase.

China offered to organize the WC with a huge prize fund but they refused and decided to keep it in the Crucible.

I believe this doesn't include the huge bonus Milkins received for accumulated points in European Series - that in itself was 80k + 150k on that 1 day
Please correct! But great work & presentation

I was debating whether or not to include series bonuses in this ranking, but they excluded them.
I'll consider whether to include a series bonus from next year.

Have you heard of advertising, where they are paid to promote products? Have you heard of appearance fees, where they are paid just to turn up at snooker clubs etc and play a few frames with the members? Have you heard of exhibition matches where people pay to watch them doing trick shots etc. with fellow pros?

yes taxes will need to be paid if its your main source of income - which to a pro snooker player winnings would be.
