I grew up 3 blocks from the Broadway Market. Basically, I stopped the video before Bailey Ave. or I would have cried. RIP BROADWAY.
My city I love..it changes at nite..Bailey / E.Delavan born and raised. Glad i worked my butt off and moved tho..i like driving/ working in Buffalo tho.
Lotta good memories..
Thnx!
Two of my family members lived in the area., one right behind St Gerard's and the other further down Delevan on Courtland street. What's the status of selling the St Gerard church building?
@@michaeljarosz4062 most become mosques
Shit I got out the hood couldn’t take it anymore and left EVERYTHING behind too much pain in that neighborhood
@@michaeljarosz4062 all I know is they moved to Atlanta and just held on to the old church for no apparent reason
East side! Where I grew up! CST n Mills
Good old buffalo, keep making more videos
Nice video.
Once a great street . Especially near Bailey. Great history. Now all of Broadway is terrible. Thankfully I grew up at transit/Broadway in depew.
Worked at Bk on B-way n Woltz
My first apartment was 212 Sweet Ave off Broadway in 1976. It was still mostly Polish then east of Fillmore Ave and Black west of Fillmore. In the end, this is what “red lining” does to a small city. The Polish moved to Cheektowaga and slumlords moved in.
it used to be like Las Vegas on Broadway, bars and clubs, big parties all the time
Broadway street ... alone averages about 10 - 20 murders a year
Sad, so sad. Obviously it’s been de-populated, but even the continuous line of trees on the north side adjacent to the railroad yards are gone. Hard to imagine now that there was industry there (breweries of brands no longer in existence, department stores, banks,
supermarkets, restaurants).
This drive was eastbound though the heart of Buffalo's eastside and the northern border of Sloan. A familiar neighborhood. Unfortunately the view was obscured by a dirty window.
fitting for such a dirty part of the city
@@sbprime2483 Unfortunately you're ignorant of the daily struggles of those ethnic residents of Buffalo's Eastside and Sloan. I'm familiar with the these people. They work in low- wage jobs, use city buses, are dependent on Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare at ECMC and have to deal with absentee landlords. They are salt-of-the-earth people who are screwed by inflation, corrupt governments and illegal drugs. Many are devote Christians and Muslims who want safety and a better life for themselves and their children. I'll identify with them much more than a wealthy attorney from Orchard Park who belongs to a country club and sends his children to private school. I also know them too.
i been through there, East Lovejoy was a dangerous drug dealing place@@peterlyons8793
How about Kaisertown? That's the far east side of Buffalo past Bailey Avenue towards the city line.
Yes how about main st wny
