I was underwhelmed by the bass initially, but when i flicked the gain on my Magni Heretic to high, they really came alive. The bass went from meh to surprisingly good. I don't have any hard numbers, but the only other pair of headphones in my collection that absolutely require high gain to sound good on my rig are my 600 ohm DT990s. These things are hella hungry.
I have a Loki in my Schiit stack, and I could get the bsss up to car-trunk rattling levels. The bass hits hard, but you gotta work for it, LOL.

Mine are coming soon. I'm curious to how they compare to 650's.

Hello praised Audio! I've been using the open M1570 headphones for 1 year now. I had tried many different ones and got stuck with the open M1570. I have more than enough bass with my setup. Does the closed M1570C have less bass than the open one??? I use a Fiio M17 with which only the bass is missing, but totally. That's why I also use an EQ and a vintage hi-fi amplifier from Marantz. An unusual setup I know. But I'm telling you, if you boost the bass and maybe adjust the mids and highs a bit to your personal hearing, then it's absolutely incredible cinema. The bass is absolutely stunning!!! I'm considering buying it. So the question: do you have any comparisons to the open 1570 in terms of bass etc??? Greetings

Hello! Sadly I have not had the opportunity to hear the open M1570 yet so I can't compare them 😬 I do want to try one someday though. I personally don't like to EQ 🙂

I have recently tried the open m1570 (extensively) and have found it to sound very different and have far more bass. 🙂

Hi, can you share the amplifiers you and your friend used with the m1570c? Thanks

I used my iBasso dx300 and my friend used a micca origen O2 🙂

@@PraisedAudio have to tell you that the m1570c benefits from a more powerful amplifier. Specs: 60 ohms 97dB/mW I´m a user myself and use amplifiers (several) that provide 4W at 60 ohms and the bass is there in quality, dynamics, texture, detail, and punch but is indeed intended to be kind of flat for studio purposes sub-bass is there but yea it will be good to have more presence. Haven´t played with EQ but petty sure you can make this one a basshead headphone if you like. The better amplification gives you a more full, bigger, meatier sound. In addition, give it some break in (burn-in) period it improves nicely.

I had them for a long time and did burn them in. Didn't solve the issue. I don't know about higher power though I did
run it balanced (iBasso is over 7 vrms balanced). I'm glad you enjoy them on a powerful amp 🙂

@@PraisedAudio yea 1240mW@32ohm via 4.4 on dx300 is not enough that's why you are not getting the best of the m1560c and the 6.3 mm on the cable is the right decision because m1570c is not good on portable devices so the real option is desktop amplifiers, there is no need for 3.5 mm but if you need it they supplied it for you, so is nice to have a cable with special wiring (different from audeze) with the most convenient termination, of course, I have ordered an XLR upgrade cable for better results

Sound differences with the m1070c? Also, what equipment used with them?

Sadly I have not heard the m1070C 🫤 it was run balanced on my DX300. 🙂

@@PraisedAudio Do you think the bass will be similar in m1070c?

    • @PraisedAudio
      @PraisedAudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Sorry, I can't really give a reliable comparison at all since I haven't heard the 1070C I can only say what I've heard of the 1570C, which has a very recessed bass. 🫤

They're definitely poorly tuned for the bass, but its super easy to EQ. If you throw on a very basic EQ with a bass boost, they're some of the most versatile headphones in the closed-back home use headphones niche. With EQ the bass sounds great, and it's not like adding EQ onto an hd800 because these are planar drivers that take EQ like a champ without distorting. That said, I dont find them to be any more bass light than the open backed sennheiser headphones. Still, a huge shortcoming for a closed back.
If you arent willing to EQ, there really arent any closed back planars worth looking at. The 2021 Audeze XC has generally better tuning without EQ because it actually has good bass, but it still has minor tuning issues and also costs nearly 3x as much (nearly 7x as much compared to the price i paid for a new pair).
Besides, what closed back planar can you even get for under $1000? Dan clark has infamously limp dynamics. The sundara closed? Yeah right 😂

I agree (though I find them to have far less bass than an HD650). Since I don't EQ though, it's not for me. If you EQ the bass up and still enjoy them, they could be a great set no doubt. Glad you enjoy your set 🙂
