Honestly, I feel like someone who can actually make a change should see this video, because feedback like this is extremely important to improving the experiences of international students who are coming to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka as a country should be able to accommodate international students just as well other countries. Even I, after watching your video, saw many ways that we could have made your experience better. Also, what you said about consultants is so true. While I am not in the medical field, the rest of my family is. I know that some consultants can be brutal. Most of them sound like they have a stick up their arse, not chill at all. If I was in the medical field, I'd probably have given up or be depressed. The fact that you can actually be positive and optimistic is quite amazing. I really hope that we can make your experience great so that more people would choose Sri Lanka to come and study. It does seem like the country has been getting better recently. Great video Yeezang. Although there are certain challenges, as much as we are thankful to our Bhutan Government, we are equally grateful to Sri Lankan government for accepting Bhutanese students to study MBBS here in prestigious universities.😇🙏

I am suprised at how you are still grateful and overflowing with positivity despite that. I may have lived a little longer, but it looks like I have a lot to learn from your outlook on life. This made me curious about Bhutanese people and your culture. I've always thought about visiting Bhutan to go on a spiritual journey someday, and it looks like your videos might be the spark I needed. I'll be looking forward to when you post next!
I can totally relate to what you are saying even i am a nursing student studying in india and being a Bhutanese student here was tough for us in our first year but now its little better. The main thing was language barrier because not all those living in india speaks hindi, they speak their local language which is hard for us to understand because already we are having difficulty in communicating in hindi and on top that them speaking in their local language makes it even tougher. Moreover some teachers also teaching in hindi just makes it worse and clinical posting are tough when we have to stand for almost for 4 hours a day without sitting but you are strong and the situation you are dealing with will even make u stronger💪🏻❤️
good news for you about the consultant is that he/she does not know a damn thing either. I come from a family of doctors. My grand father was a lecturer in Colombo Medical College,Dr DC De Fonseka, my uncle Professor TEJ De Fonseka ,Dean of faculty of medicine,Colombo. my dad two more uncles but they knew nothing apart from making people feel better they have achieved something.
I knew it's going to be hard but girl as a country we are lacking in many ways please don't blame it to ur self honey 🥺 u are so strong and brave ❤❤❤❤ many of these patients are innocent people so they may not understand english and nurses and attenders are so rude in government hospitals 😢 so please be patience
😟Im sorry that you had those wrong words heard from a consultant and even after them knowing your nationality that's so wrong but glad that our students meds are helping you I was so happy to see that you work in the hospital of our town gampola hospital ❤
this is not solely your problem, im a sri lankan student studying mbbs in another country. I attended medicine ward , I encountered the same problem too. doctors and pgs explain in their native language, locals are unable to understand english and much more... it was bit discouraging at first but I managed to learn medical words in local language, my foreign batchmates helped me understanding the case and I used to ask doctors for explanation in english at the end of rotation. Even if a foreigner comes to bhutan also, he or she will experience the same issue in bhutan (uneducated patients, language issues etc) like anywhere.
