Loving the open string thing. I’ve been working on that and hybrid pentos while open string shuffles on base string, mostly in E and A. So many option for greasy blues. Love your playing, your vids and your courses Jeff. Thanks from NZ 🙏🏼
Thanks Jeff, way to continue being an evangelist for Billy G! I always hear a little John Lee Hooker when I listen to Billy. I really like how much he uses fragmented chords and hybrid picking. Thanks for what you do for us Jeff. It’s helping this old dog learn new tricks. ;-) Peace!
What a great video! Lots of nuance in a short time. Someone could spend a lot of time just working on jut this, and the end result being such a better player. I'll be grinding on these until I have them down and can move them around.
Mahalo Sensei Jeff. 2 of my favorite ZZ songs. People don't know Billy used a Early Strat with a hardtail in his early recordings. He was originally using Fenders before Pearly Gates or the V.
Great stuff. Thanks. Billy has always been a favourite
Thanks!
My favortie guitarist since I was a kid is Billy Gibbons -- can never get enough of this stuff. Thanks, Jeff!
One of my faves too!!!

Glad you dug it Victor!
How how how how.
Super great lesson. I know ZZ Top is a blues rock band. But it always sounded pretty damn metal to me.
Heavy Blues band?
Thxs
Have mercy! I must have played La Grange “wrong” a thousand times back in the ’80s. Never stopped drunk people from dancing… a-haw haw haw!
🙌🏻🙌🏻
The Reverend never gets old. Maybe you should grow that beard a little, Jeff.
Ha! I’m on it.
So weird, yesterday i wrote down 10 songs to learn next. I planned on 3 of them being zztop!

I’m not at liberty to divulge that information.
