When this pedal came out, not one demo of it made me even consider getting it. You have a way of utilizing these pedals that really opens up the possibilities of how to use them
This guy is one of the only reviewers on TH-cam that understands how to use pedals. It's amazing how many others think you just switch a pedal on and continue to play as you always have, or perhaps think its an opportunity to show off their playing . So its great to see someone actually listening and reacting to the pedals in their reviews. Awesome and thanks.
That's very true. I hear it the same. Too often you hear otherwise really good musicians, but they get on a modern pedal like Red Panda Tensor, and they play against it, over it, or even fight it. Rather than listen, and play with it. Playing with these modern pedals is like improvising, or even good blues. Mostly hanging back and listening, and playing less, not overplaying.
I couldn't wait until I got home, I had to sneak away and hide in the bushes and watch this demo. This was truly inspiring, the way you eek out subtleties from a pedal that can get truly wild is so wonderful, you are the best at 'dialing back'. The synth beats section was my favourite, I was entranced. And another thing, you incorporate so many styles in your demos too that fit the perfectly. Bravo maestro.
It doesn’t matter what pedal is in front of ya, you are the master at showing them in inspiring ways. We’re mixing the new EP (I’ve posted two videos with sneak peeks) and it’s crazy how much you’ve influenced the backup ambient guitar parts. As always, I hope things are well my friend. All my love!!!
Thank you so much for your constant support, bud! I'm deeply honored to hear that my videos have inspired the textural elements in your own compositions. That's mind blowing to me 🙏❤
Best demo of this pedal on the internet, by far. Absolutely loved the distorted flanger sounds you got and the demo on drums demonstrating the studio uses of this pedal!
I got one of these at a store and as soon as I turned it on I thought that's the sound I've wanted for a while. I went home and opened up the back plate and to my surprise it was made on my birthday the year before + someone drew a smiley in there too. That was pretty crazy to discover. I use it all the time with almost exclusively the x10 mode on. I love running it into a RAT for blurred and destroyed leads and it sounds amazing just by itself with a clean sound
Oh boy! Thank you so much. I'm really happy with how that intro jam turned out as well. This pedal really allowed me to discover a much more dark and bleak post-punk vibe, which I rarely venture into. Always a treat when a pedal inspires me to compose and play differently.
I'm very late to this demo, but what a way to kick off a Saturday night in early November with an opening jam straight off a movie soundtrack. I think I saw Vin Diesel fast-ropeing out of a spaceship onto a live volcano! Turning to the pedal, well, envelope mode is where it's at for me. And in addition to being an ambient workstation, the Space Bender is clearly also a glitchy dub machine too. Your drums section was a great example of how it could work in that context. Superb sounds from you as always my friend and well done DBA!
Alright... Demos of this pedal I've seen so far didn't convince me towards Space Bender. But after I saw Your demo I'm really thinking about getting this one. Sounds so amazing 🤩
Same! Even though I was already starting to check it out, Stefan made me very interested in ambient guitar and synth pedals as well and now I have a Keeley Synth 1 and Earthquaker Devices Bit Commander which I'm really digging.
This is sik!!! You do such a great job on these pedals! I’ll definitely be adding this to my bass pedals!! Thanks for this killer video! I would love to jam with you one day!!
I’m just at the opening jam and I’m already sold on the post punk vibes you’re getting out of it… don’t be surprised if you send me online shopping hahah.
Saw this pedal in your Halloween special and I instantly got sold on it. Guess I'm a sucker for some good sounding chorus. Ah, would just love to pair it with my Fuzz War.
Hearing that thing with the Squier Jazzmaster baritone won me over. I'm a baritone player these days, PRS 277 Hollowbody w/ P-90's. Now I absolutely have to try those effects with some overdrive, that tone was exquisite... and I'm always trying to find that perfect slapback/overdrive tone.
This pedal is just sublime with Baritone. Probably one of my favorite pedals to use with that instrument. Just instantly brings all the dark goth and post-punk vibes 😊
@@thepedalzone goth and post-punk ... exactly the two things that come to mind with this device. I am always chasing goth, post-punk, surf, and spaghetti tones. I hope a Friedman BE OD Deluxe will be hot enough to pair up; that Wurm sounds incredible with it.
Happy you dig it. It is indeed a surprisingly versatile pedal. We can only keep our fingers crossed that they'll make a V2 someday. Mix and CV would indeed have been extra killer features.
Thank you very much! Space Bender is actually my favorite. Just love its wide array of sounds and super fun and inviting user interface. Rooms, Echo Dream II and Evil Filter are high on the list as well :)
It's a great instrument for sure. Happy you liked the demo! Let me know what kind of fuzz you're looking for. If I can help you on your way to one, I'll happily do that.
Will you please make a video showing off and explaining some of your licks and progressions. I will steal every single one. You're a very inspiring guitarist
That's super kind of you to say. Thank you! But I don't really know how to "teach" what I'm doing, since I have no clue myself. I just find a tuning that sounds nice, and then noodle around until I find a chord progression and melody that works. I have no theoretical insight into what I'm doing at all.
@@thepedalzone I have virtually no theory basis either. I learn by seeing and hearing. I try to pick out some of the things you do. Sometimes successful others not. Do you use alternative tunings
nice baritone! Those things are hard to get now and fetch a good price! I was going to pick one up years ago for like 300 Canadian dollars but decided not to and my buddy did instead and now they're worth like 1500 cad minimum! Such cool guitars!
