Well explained. Beautiful work. Can you please tell me the approximately cost for 1000sqft 2 10:06 bedroom house.including painting, electricity and plumbing.
Thank you sir. This is expensive compared to concrete roofing, at least 3 times of its cost. Plumbing and electrical will depend on the plan and layout. 1000sqft will cost you approximately 400-450 per sqft
Very informative, Thankyou for sharing the video. I would like to know if it is hot inside the tiled room when compared to RCC also is this cheaper than RCC.
Really nice video brother. I am also looking to build this type of house. Only my concern is condition in rain / summer days. Please give your experience. Thanks.

Dear Shylaish, this is one of the most informative and genuine videos I came across. Beautiful explanation. Although I am not familiar with Tamil, your English words helped me understand completely. What is the meaning of 3 feet slope? In degrees or gradient, what does it mean? 3/12?
Thanks for the nice video. How is the thermal comfort inside? For, say, a 12x16 area would you suggest is the AC tonnage requirement comparable to RCC roofing?
Super Sir, greetings from Bangalore... Very well explained & your home looks fantastic 👍 Thanks for sharing this video!!! Also, if possible can you give a home tour in detail, interested to see how your new home is 😀
Sir: can you please share maintenance requirement for this type of roof? I hear that there can be insect/lizard menace between the two layers of tiles.. Your experience?
It has been more than a year, I'm not facing such issues. The laying of the ceiling tiles need to be laid with out any such gaps. Usually, these sort of pests come in through chipped / damaged tiles. Insect / lizard may enter the gaps if the laying is not uniform or even. Another way to ensure that the small hairline cracks are sealed is to coat the tiles with a water proofing coat. Apex ultima tile guard should work. In a double groove roof tile, the gaps between the layer of tiles is very negligible. The best way for you to find out is to go to a tile show room and get it clarified before you make the purchase. Good luck
If i have to compare with mangalore tile vs concrete roofing then what would be the percentage of cost saving i can save choosing one over another. Appreciate your comments?
Mangalore tiles work shown in this video is far more expensive than concrete roofing. This is not cost saving option...sorry for my delay in responding.
I have used ceiling tiles and these are the most durable tiles for inner layer. The combination of ceiling tiles with roof tiles are the best for sound and heat insulation. Roof strength is determined by the reinforcements provided by truss and rafters, incase of Mangalore clay tiles. The cement base tiles might have a higher compressive strength but they aren't good heat insulators. The choice of the material is determined depending on the geographical location.
Hello! Thankful for your feedback. Yes, it's is not only heat resistant it is sound proof too. It will suit the ambience of beautiful Pondicherry. Good luck.
Leaking happens mostly due faulty tiles or due to the mistakes in the installation process. Few examples are improper laying, cracked tiles, plastering errors, etc.
