The comments near the beginning of the video of how hard it can be to pair these peplink devices with the cellular networks is spot on.... at least where VZ is concerned. I spent a total of about 6 hours on the phone, on line and in their stores trying to get their service to work with my peplink router. As mentioned, their system says the device is compatible but no one could find a data plan that worked with it. Finally, I gave up and went to T-Mobile. 30 mins later I walked out, stepped into my RV, input the SIM card and had working internet.

I have several Peplink BMAX BR-1 routers at which I did move my SIM cards from my Jetpacks to the Peplink device and it works, however what frustrates me is the abysmal speed this gives me. I get like 1 meg or less on download and 0.05 on upload. Whats the deal with this? Settings or Sim card limitations or what? Thanks and Great videos!

@@MobileInternetResourceCenter The biggest thing that will cause this in my case was my antennas i was using were female and not male connectors. -88Dbm signal will make them do that. lol. Took me all day to figure that out.

You are supposed to be able to use the SCAN function via webcam to load an eSim that comes only as QR code. Do you know if this works?

No, a router does have the ability to scan a QR code... that only works with smartphones and tablets that have cameras.

I ended up asking Peplink also and they say yes you can enter QR code for eSim in eSim rated routers (Max BR1 Pro 5 G for one) through the webcam of the computer you access the Peplink cloud from. @@MobileInternetResourceCenter

Looking to use some type of 5G/LTE router, I see SIM cards that are data plan SIM cards with XXGB of hotspot internet included. Would that router use the "data plan" or would it be considered a "hotspot" as its consuming data?

Routers need data device plans - use the 'Routers' filter on our top pick data plans to see what are great options: www.rvmobileinternet.com/planpicks

I was glad to see the information about texting to the pepwave. When I got mine (march of 2021) I could not get that feature to work. I ended up sticking the sim card into an old phone, then texting to that phone to get the code that AT&T needed. After watching your video I thought I would try it again since he said that they did some problems in the past. I updated the firmware to 8.2.1 for my MAX-BR1-MK2. The texting still does not work. Any ideas how to fix this for the future?

it seems that Verizon is no longer offering new plans to work in pepwave routers. I've been struggling with them all week. I can't even count the number of hours I've spent dealing with this through escalated phone calls and store managers. I have a new hotspot plan that quit working Sunday after a week and a half. I was told it's no longer an authorized device by several reps (incorrect information). After being escalated multiple times, they've determined it is an authorized device, but there are no plans offered to work with pepwave. Entering a store IMEI # or putting the sim in an old jetpack and moving it over does not work either. I'm wondering if this change happened with the rollout of the new plans and maybe only new lines/devices are being kicked out

Has anyone used the FMCA tech + plan in a pepwave? The device FMCA/AT&T gives you is junk

Yes I have one in a pepwave. Just take the sim and install.
