I still remember being here at her last performance and I'll never forget it. After I finished crying during intermission (thanks to Talia Suskauer's showstopping performance of "Defying Gravity"), Act 2 was finally starting and I was so excited. But when Brittney Johnson was singing the middle of "Thank Goodness," of course she was acting amazingly, but I noticed that she felt like crying, especially when she said, "tHAt thrill." She looked like she was breaking down, and I could tell why. She looked like she was not ready to leave "Wicked" either, and I felt the same way, so I almost wept again. There were even a few moments in Act 2 where I saw Brittney wiping her eyes multiple times, especially during her and Talia's last performance of "For Good." I understood how Brittney was feeling, so I cried a little bit, but during "For Good," damn, I was an emotional mess. Ever since that day, now I have a big dream of playing Glinda on Broadway since I can sing a little operatically, people tell me that I'm cute and bubbly, and it was all thanks to Brittney Johnson's comedic, emotional, and incredible performance! And while yes, I do love McKenzie Kurtz very much, "Wicked" doesn't feel the same without Brittney.
