I saw this video and clicked on it, Liked it it. Didn't even watch it(yet). The only thing wrong with this, is the title....remove "is" and "?" 😂. As an avid football fan, there really is no other sport like it...and I'm not biased. But he has proven it over and over again. Cr7 is great! The living embodiment of a physically complete player. But Messi...he's got this talent, a gift...It's unexplainable. One can only understand if they've seen it begin when the torch of Barca was handed to him by Ronaldinho. The end of an Era and the beginning of a Legacy.

True. I remember when that happened. No one-and I mean NO ONE-in that stadium saw the possibility of a chip goal from that spot & set up until about 2-3 seconds after Messi had decided exactly what he was going to do (on the previous pass). Even when the ball was in the air on its way toward goal, people’s brains were still trying to catch up with what they were seeing. Like: *”Wait a minute…he can’t do that. He’s not in scoring position. Nobody does that shot. Everyone passes or dribbles from there. THIS DOES NOT COMPUTE.”* Lol
That’s partly why even the opponent’s fans stood & lauded him with “Messi. Messi. Messi” cheers. For the love of the game. Another reason was b/c this goal completed his hat-trick that day (no pens). GOATness.

In my opinion, one of the virtues that make him "the alien" of football is the man who serves as a vessel for the athlete.
He is not a spotlight seeker, he is above all, a team player. That and the fact that he seems to have eyes above his head make him an artist of passing at the right time and to the right player.
He was born in poverty and with a congenital disorder that threatened any prediction of a future in sport... his character was forged in adversity, and his love for football, added to his family values, led him to consecration of what he is and will always be: the boy who clung to the ball as if it were a slingshot and faced all the Goliaths that life put in front of him, until he became the man who has no parallel in what he does.
His game is as brilliant as himself, I have never heard him put down other players, if you ask him directly you will only hear praise. And in times when he didn't do particularly well, he never allows himself to be self-indulgent or blame others.
The way he stays attached to his roots, the humility with which he expresses his gratitude for his achievements (among which he never fails to include his wife and children, his family and friends), if you add to all that the number of goals, longevity, his way of dribbling and all the magic he displays on the field, a magic that manages to imbue the spirit of those who play with him...
The facts definitely make him what you call the GOAT.
For some "The best player of all time" is redundant, we simply say: Messi.

    • @qenjaboy
      @qenjaboy 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

You bring up some excellent points, which I absolitely agree with. However, I would like to add one:
Messi plays football at the highest difficulty level.
He never dives. In a time where the vast majority of his colleagues in other teams decide to go down easy, in order to gain a penalty or a freekick in a favorable position, Messi keeps playing.
As a defender, when you are playing against an attacking player that you know have the capability of diving or going down easy, you must be careful. You can't be flying in recklessly or hold his shirt too tight, or he may choose to go down.
Defenders know that Messi doesn't dive, defenders know that they can (and must) play harder vs him than other attacking players. It is also basically standard praxis for every opposing team to design their entire defensive strategy in order to maximize their probability to stop Messi.
These things combined mean that Messi is playing football at the hardest difficulty possible. And yet... ?!?!
He manages to be the best player in the history of the sport.

    • @Arianze
      @Arianze 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@qenjaboy Excellent contribution and one of the most important points, it's a shame I overlooked it.
Maybe because after reading and rereading "Messi is a dog" (Messi es un perro) by Hernán Casciari without tiring, I was a little scared of the possibility of repeating what someone had already described... although I must admit that you achieved it masterfully.

Yes he is bruh, just by three simple Criteria.
    1. The most complete player of all time, the only player who mastered the 4 aspects of Football (Goalscoring, Dribbling, Playmaking and Set Piece Taking / Free Kicks)
    2. He is the most decorated Football Player of all time leading the table with 44 trophies and most importantly the most decorated player INDIVIDUAL TROPHIES wise since Team Trophies are mostly team effort based. Individual Trophies are more crucial for this debate and he has:
    -8 Ballon D'or
    -2 FIFA Best
    -2 UEFA Best
-2 Golden Balls (World Cup MVP trophy)
    -6 Golden Boots
    -5 Playmaker Best
-2 FIFA Men's Player of the Year
-2 Laureus Best Sportsman of the Year
And just to add the cherry on top, he recently won the World Cup. Not for proving that he is the Goat of course he already is- But to cement it because that's the only excuse haters had for him for not being so. Regardless of all that he now won every possible title in football! Perfecting his career with the biggest trophy of them all! The World Cup.
    3. G/A Record + Man of the Match Awards:
-Messi now has the most G/A in football history with 1182 (821 goals and 361 assists) in 1047 games which is unfathomable even for someone who doesn't know ball.
-Messi has 306 Man of the Match awards in 628 games making him the most decisive the MVP player in half of the games he played in his entire career since 2009? Insanity!.
Followed by Cristiano Ronaldo who has 175 in like 650 games.

If the game of football still remain the same as messi play today in the future, a man can only surpass messi as a complete player if he can dribbling, goal scoring, playmaking, taking free kick as good as he is and also defending as the best defender or goalie today. That's the only way for the next generations to surpass him as a complete player. Can u imagine the possibility there will be a player like that in the future...i am not saying it is impossible, but try to think and calculate the chances, and yk how blessed we are witnessing him playing live today.

Bojan was supposed to be even better than Messi in the younger teams, but he's admitted in interviews that couldn't cope with the pressure, he didn't like it... so at the end it was the hunger that gave Messi the edge. And as a side note, I think i remember that Bojan ended up being a distant Messi relative.

💯 the G.O.A.T there's never been a more naturally talented all round player and we may never see another again. We are so lucky to be living in this era when it comes to sports and music to have the privilege to witness some of the greatest artists ever and in some sports witnessing the greatest players there has ever been.
In football we have the likes of Messi and Ronaldo ( i don't like him personally but can't deny his talent )
In Snooker ( if you follow it ) we have Ronnie o'sullivan who is the greatest we will ever see pick up a snooker cue and someone you should react to he's a genius.
Tennis we have Novak Djokovic and also Rafael Nadal and the recently retired Roger Federer and there's many more too we are truly privileged regarding talented people.

You can probably look into Shohei Ohtani, who landed a 700 million dollar deal with the Dodgers recently. He had to undergo a second TJ surgery, but he has been an insane player for the last three years and got two MVPs, only barely losing to Aaron Judge's monster season in 2022, which kept Shohei from 3 consecutive MVPs.

I would actually argue that he wasn't as good in 2021 vs 2022/23. His last two seasons on the mound were better.
It will be interesting to see how his 2024 shakes out since he's not pitching.

The thing what really flashes me the most about Messi is how he can keep his balance. As an ex-player in the amature ranks I know how hard it is to keep Balance on the field, even harder when you have to dribble past defenders, jumping over legs, taking cuts and everything. The best example for that ist the shot at 12:00. To put this shot in, you have to be in the right Balance. If you lean a bit to much back or forward you either shoot the ball into the stands or it rolls over the pitch. Than the perfect timing at the swing of his foot. He get it in the perfect spot and perfectly in the middle of his swing. Plus, it was a volley, so the ball didn't touch the ground first to lose some speed. To sink this ball in in this manner with the first touch it's just unhuman.
