I seriously cannot rave about the moonlight scene enough. The music, the dialogue, the LOOKS, the almost kiss, the cinematography that makes it so you can’t see their faces only their silhouettes like something out of a goddamn fairytale!! Its one of my favorite scenes in the entire series! Also, Izzy saying “daddy…” will never NOT make me want to curl up into a ball and die from cringe.
"You wear fine things well" is my favorite line in the entire show, it's so romantic and yet Stede has no idea how much that meant for Ed to hear. Ed's so in love and I adore watching them fall for each other every single time I watch this show and I love watching people realize that this is in fact a love story. Can't wait for season 2!

This puts the whole "donkey" scene in a completely different light because it's not only classism, but racism now as well, because the term "donkey" is often used as a slur against Maori. At one point when Edward is yelling at the man, he even asks "Do you know where I'm from? You know fucking nothing about me, mate!"

There is this show called good omens that I think you would really enjoy, it focuses on the relationship between an angel and a demon and it's honestly so fucking great.
the entire episode makes me want to scream, the bonding moments in the beginning are so sweet (when you overlook the threats of violence), then we have lucius and pete being absolute sweethearts and izzy regretting his entire existence when finding them,, stede then being a savage and spilling the tea about the people who hurt ed's feelings (honestly, just admit that you're in love), the almost kiss in the moonlight and the fine fabric is just *ahhhhhhhhhhh* we are all screaming with you, trust and believe
Regarding Izzy, I feel like the crew philosophy is "Be a freak if you like, but don't be a damn hypocrite." I do think he would benefit from a sketching session, not even to get laid, but just to have someone appreciate his form. Everyone wants to feel pretty sometime, ya know? "You wear fine things well" has to be one of the most succinct and lovely sentiments expressed on television in the last twenty years, if not longer.
Lucius is an absolute badass and I adore him. I love this show so much for subverting every trope and kicking the bullies back. And that romantic scene in front of the moon? I was losing it. It's everything I've ever wanted out of a show.

The full name thing is kind of a trope in writing. People tend to give hyper intelligent characters the personality quirk of being unusually formal. The most well known example I can think of is Mycroft in Sherlock. I find it vey endearing. It's a valid flirtation technique.

Lucius is the resident badass of this show, and that's not me being cute or hyperbolic. He lives entirely true to himself, in the open, and doesn't give a shit what other people think of him. He's also the character who repeatedly sees through cover, disguise, walls -- He sees people as they are. And I think he and Izzy are absolutely intended by the writers to be seen as opposing forces throughout the season. Lucius is openness, truth, authenticity, confidence, comfort in one's own skin, and Izzy is secrecy, shame, manipulation, possessiveness, delusion...the way the two of them are in opposition to what the other embodies keeps coming up throughout the season. Lucius sees right through Izzy in this ep, and he lets him know it -- and Izzy totally loses any power he tried to weild over Lucius. It's fucking awesome.

When we started getting to know each other and flirted I started calling him by his full name and he always looked pleasantly surprised and I loved it, made me feel special lol.
