- Willy Paul, a prominent Kenyan musician, began his career in the gospel scene. However, he made a controversial switch to secular music. Frustrated by negativity from fellow gospel artists and a perceived lack of support, he felt stifled creatively. He craved authenticity and expressed a desire to explore different musical styles. Leaving the gospel industry wasn't about rejecting faith, but about being true to himself and his music. Church hurt is real. I also went through it so I understand what Willy is saying. BUT I have not left my purpose/assignment because they hurt me. I took a break but now I am ready to go back and serve the Lord. One day we will answer to God if we expanded the Kingdom of God or kingdom of darkness. If we took people to God or to lust/fleshly desires. If we dont forgive those who hurt us, God will also not forgive us. Imagine going to hell because of so and so! Not worth it. Forgiveness does not have to wait for an apology. Just do it for the sake of your eternity.

Gospel music is not an industry it's a ministry and being a gospel singer is a call from God

Nothing can sepeatate us from the love of God. Jesus is our role model, He is our saviour, yet no one was hurt more than Him by the church. Even His own did not receive Him. there’s a difference btn gospel industry and gospel ministry. Those who left were performers(industry)the ministers are still in the gospel and we are still getting blessed.

It was only a matter of time for to leave that industry i wasn't surprised when he left the church never wanted/liked him. Salvation is personal and everyone will give account to their deeds. Its really sad that you give up your salvation because people hurt you, people will eventually hurt you. But all in all Jesus still Loves you with an everlasting love

We are sinners in the eyes of a holy God. The gospel is that Jesus died on the cross for our sake so that we can be united to God. And our response is to walk in q life worthy of Christ in gratitude for what Christ has done. If this is not reflected in the songs we sing, then it's not the gospel.

I litsen to a nigerian pastor called pastor mildred and she is so passionate about the word and makes me love God with the same vigour.she says that when we go to heaven we will be seated on around table with the apostles everyone saying their part...stephen stoned to death,john boiled in oil,Jesus crucified,the other john beheaded,,crucified upside down,, all for the gospel....then there is you who people did bad PR on your name and you decided to drop everything and throw shade ....making thousands of souls that were assigned to you go astray...
