As an audiiophile I can tell tou that music drives a sound system's aamplifiers and speakers a LOT harder than speech. Any dadio or laptop csn do speach like this viideo, but it takes a GOOD system to do music WELL! Good audio gear is expensive for a reaso

Hi Dave, thank you for messaging us. There is a vestibular implant designed for the loss of sense of balance. You can find out more about it here: www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/newsroom/news-releases/implant-improves-balance-movement-and-quality-of-life-for-people-with-inner-ear-disorder Kind regards
Hi! I have 4 electrodes extruded on my cochlea and turned off, so the low frequency of electrodes is further from the apex. Do I have still chance to enjoy music or not possible anymore?
Hi there, thanks for your comment. Music enjoyment is an individual feeling, but generally speaking a complete cochlear coverage with long electrodes means a more complete coverage of the sound spectrum and a “fuller” sound experience . The deeper you reach in the cochlea, the closer natural hearing you get, in particular when it comes to music. Are you using a MED-EL cochlear implant? Your audiologist may take a look at the mapping and check if adjustments could help to improve your hearing experience. If you let us know the country you are located, we are happy to share the contact details of a MED-EL expert near you. Kind regards, Barbara
Yes, I am Med-el implanted with flex 28 and using sonnet 2 processor nearly 2 years. I have several mapping now and also meet the med el representative but still having muddy sounds. I am from UK, its just frustrating I will not ever getting the fuller sound of my CI.

Speech is overwhelmingly in the middle ranges
Music involves both low and high pitches. Not that much of it is in the mid ranges
It’s kind of like a wider frequency bandwidth for implant users, right?
Kayla, thank you for your question. Could you clarify what is like a wider frequency bandwidth?
Kind regards,
Alicia

Can this new system help to recover my balance? When I stand I have no balance so I need to use a walker.
