    It is interesting when she is talking about her experience in Hamadan she says a Muslim, rather than an Iranian, gave her the directions. It is obvious she sees the people as identified by their perceived religion, rather than any other parameter, such as nationality. I think if you ask an Iranian "what are you", 10 out of 10 times you'll get: "Iranian".

    • @georgelurye6274
      @georgelurye6274 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +DerafsheKavian I think when you go to any nation which is almost exclusively homogenous in religion and ethnicity and you happen not to fit that profile, you will refer to people that way as well. To be specific, she was talking about the differences between the Jews in Iran and the Muslims in Iran. They're all Iranian. The only way to discern is their religion. Iran makes VERY sure the religious identity is always present.

    • @monisalvatori5021

      +George Lurye You should learn about Iran befor you state it is "almost exclusivity homogeneous in religion".

    • @marmary5555
      @marmary5555 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      George Lurye you are so wrong about how Iranian perceive themselves and you truly need to educate yourself before you write such nonsense about how Iranians perceive themselves. Islam has been *forced* - yes FORCED - upon Iranians especially during the past 38 years. Iranians are absolutely not in tune with their theocratic government because of lack of *human rights*. You can't dress how you want, you can't eat what you eat, read what you want or even *think* how you want. Iranians in Iran are not at all Muslims by choice.

    • @darrak4851

      She is a religious (Jewish) conservative and sees things through that lens. It's almost impossible to expect a rational/secular view of a society by a religious person, for instance to think that there could be atheist/agnostic Iranians, or that the people on the street could be Bahaii, Zoroastrian, Christian, Yezidi... For her, you're either Jewish or non-Jewish (in this case Muslim)!

      @obicapa Iran is the second holy land for the REAL Jews. The tomb of Daniel in Susa, The Tomb of Habakuk the Jewish Prophet, as well as "Peighambariyeh, burial place of four Jewish saints: Salam, Solum, al-Qiya, and Sohuli ( four Jewish saints who foretold the coming of Christ), The tomb of Esther in Hamadan where this young lady said she visited and many other local Iranian -Jewish sites. After All Iranian Jews HAve been citizens of Iran for over 2700 years! Please do your own research as such information is not available on Mainstream Media aka "Fake News", whose sole purpose to cause war between people.

      Come over to Iran then. it's very easy. remember to talk to some iranians before you come about the places that are nice to visit. I suggest you go to north and there's a town called "Sarein" in which you get to swim in natural warm springs in winter in pools with no ceilings while it snows heavily on your head!

    It's Interesting that Jews can practice their religion more freely in Iran compare to Sweden. Kosher Butchers and restaurants are banned in Sweden but they operate freely in Iran. This is one the things that western media will never share with their audience because it will contradict with the negative image that they try to picture of Iran.

    Iran, while being a repressive regime, is not a police state like North Korea. As a tourist, you are not watched and traced everywhere in Iran. You are not obliged to have a 'translator' either.
    You can confirm this fact from thousands of tourists who go to Iran, without being forced to be accompanied by a 'translator'.

    Love from Iran. We, the people of Iran, love all human beings regardless of their color, religion and race. We have been this way for thousands of years. But our religious governments and especially, clergies, speak a lot against Israel.
    Hope we will be able to change our government

      There is a reason Iranian are a free nation, as they fight the Babylonians to free Jew, and now ask the Jew zionist to free Palestinian Semitic people, what is wrong with freedom if is good for the Jew, should be good for others special Palestinian when for 76 years living under occupation and apartheid system, when jew zionist cry as a victim but victimize Palestinian Semitic people

    I would like to make a few points:The nuclear deal with Iran was and is an international ham. It violates international laws and
    orders. Iran has been a member of NPT and IAEA since early 1970s (before Islamic Republic). As a member, Iran must have the same rights as other members, not fewer. Western countries have not and will not honor their part.
    Another point, Iran is not a homogenous society, never was and never it will be. Iran is the origin of many nationalities, ideas, and religions. For example, the first Church in the world was built in Iran. Iranians of all sects appreciate each other and get along.Number of Jews in Iran is more than what she said. It is over 20,000 people.Iranian language in English is called Persian. As there is no Farsi carpets, Farsi food, or
    Farsi cats; Farsi which used to be Parsi should not be used. Farsi is a local term used inside of Iran as contrast to Azeri or Luri.Iranians have lived in Iranian plateau for over 7000 years. They have been attacked by many
    countries including Russia, Western countries, and Arabs, to name a few, however, they have remained proud people because of the contributions that they have made to make the world a better place to live. Poetry, wine, special food, etc., all were perfected in Iran.Sepas, Peace, Shalom.

      +James 123 the part where she says she had a "goverment translator" all the time with her and that she had to ask if she can take pictures , talk to people , go to places etc and then implying that the translator might have been undercover etc @ 5:00 she says that people werent suffering as she saw but then says it was a controlled pictures presented to her and she wasnt free to talk, etc implying that probably the government is hiding the real picture etc , these are all bullshit believe me watch other documentaries made on Iran . A translator is not required , u can just do what ever u want there , Iran as free as any european country once u r inside u may chose or not to have a translator , u can chose to go and stay in any hotel u want and u can take photos or talk to anyone u want , Iran isnt like North Korea in which tourists are restricted to government predetermined destinations like Pyonyang , DMZ , model villages and cant take pictures of poor people etc . Except for maybe Military installations etc u can go wherever u want , talk to whomever u want , take pictures of anything , stay in any hotel etc , go to any city , town village. Just check other documentaries and u will find out what I said

      +Muhammad Saeed Western journalists always have a "translator" with them. None of that is made up. Every single documentary film shows the same as well. Are you a western journalist? Are you one of the translators? How would you know who was and who wasn't with her? She's not just a tourist. She went on a journalist visa. That's why she was allowed to enter even though she's been to Israel and why she was invited to the Supreme Leader's home.

You were not able to freely speak to Iranians and get a feel of how many Iranians actually feel, which is that many are perfectly okay with things like gay people and western culture. Obviously, they aren't going to say that when you're accompanied by a government stooge.

    she's been choosing her words carefully not to upset the Iranian government officials,as she mentioned that she couldn't talk with normal Iranians without government spies presence she can't say what people want. most young Iranians regret the stupid revolution and want secular ,free ,westernise Iran...down with all man made religions

  • @tosan1

    At times it seems she doesn't know what she's talking about. Iranian PEOPLE are not afraid of "Western disease" as she puts it (around 10:30). The ruling class of course are, but the everyday people (especially in large cities) want a secular democracy that respects political and social liberty of individuals, parties, groups, etc. And they DO want to be connected to the rest of the world and all that...However, they believe such major changes can only be attained by the Iranians themselves (which means absolutely no foreign intervention/aids/etc.) She might view this as nationalistic, but it is not. It's actually pragmatistic. Democracy is something to be achieved by the people, not something to be dumped onto them. History has shown this repeatedly.

    One thing I can say, Annika had unique eye color, and she could see many people with same eye color as hers.
    I was hopping to hear that Iranian do not used the word JEW; even less educated people.
    Because Europeans treated that word with disrespect. Iranians use the word KALIMI for Moses followers.
    I was also hopping to hear the story of 700 European Jews escaped during WWII with the help of Iranian Embassy in Paris, With Iranian Passports, ( a suppressed story in the West).
    I did not expect this report to be that truthful that it was.
    Kalimi folks of Iran, operate a reputable hospital in Tehra'n, mainly through. their own donations.
    People of Moses history in Iran goes back to 2,800 years.
