      Yeah I hope they update soon. But yet again the game was recent on console(PS4 for me)

    actually all those RTS games are total unrealistic..
    such basic thing as how could one in medieval times have such advantage as the drone-like overview of the area, who is where, and how one communicated the units commands instantaneously so that they behaved as wished ?? in reality it was more about each unit of soldiers (or individual) for itself, the max size of the local group depending on the terrain and visibility between same type of soldiers, so it's more like flock behavior..
    also higher-level command of basic unit maneuvers or actions was possible only through signaling (sound, visual) or messengers, which took a time if at all possible.. and even then, there had to be some leader in the unit, trying to keep some order and cohesion there
    so those fights were more about pre fight preparation and setting of tactics, goals to achieve and timing (condition or signals), and then pray for the best outcome, and this could be done in few iteration like steps whenever situation evaluation and communication with units was possible.. otherwise it was just 'fog of war' chaos with lot of noise and massacred people everywhere
    would be nice to try to reproduce this type of behavior and dynamics into RTS, to like 'preprogram' wished reactions to situations as a way for steering the fight
    in more advanced tech levels the real-time overview of battle and speed/precision of command should improve, while training ways of cooperation between units depending on various factors should be still present.. like ie swordsmen protecting archers when other swordsmen are targeting them, or pike men making positions against charging cavalry to protect others, etc...
