I have over 830,000 followers on TikTok. I'm there to try to raise awareness of animal suffering that is kept a secret from us by the meat, dairy and egg industries. Sadly, we cannot be honest and show what really happens or our videos are banned and labelled "animal cruelty" which in fact, is right. That's exactly what it is and that's exactly why we are showing it to the public - because they have a right to make informed choices and to choose compassion over killing.
Bullying animals and those who defend them isn't cool. Yes, woke people have lost their minds, but being kind to animals is a universal link that can tie us together. Why make fun of eating innocent animals when you can rise above others and strive to be as vegan as possible? Why not be braver than the rest and lead by example instead of making fun of suffering? Why hurt animals if you don't have to?
Ben has stated in an interview that he should be vegan and that he was a hypocrite for not doing so. I believe that if Ben surrounded himself with a few vegans, he would evolve and change. Being kind is a, after all, a traditional value. Please take a moment to watch this documentary to learn the truth. So these people doing "not white Thanksgiving" are clearly unaware that turkey and corn are pretty standard Thanksgiving foods because turkey and corn are native to North America (Benjamin Franklin even wanted to make turkeys our national bird rather than the bald eagle) and Squanto taught the Pilgrims how to plant corn and other crops around the Plymouth area (because they were not familiar with the area or climate so they were struggling with this). We didn't bring turkeys or corn to North America, so by eliminating these Thanksgiving staples, THEY are the ones engaging in "erasure of indigenous culture", as they would put it. As usual, they are being racist under the guise of antiracism. Shocker.

No one in school paid attention to any history class. The classes themselves glossed over a ton. Now they see a headline or a tiktok and do no further research.
A big example is critical race theory and the claim slavery isn't taught in school. Every black history month, we got taught it over and over till we graduated. I went to 12 schools in 3 states. They all did it. But people my age pretend it didn't happen or genuinely didn't pay attention.

  • @teddeler
    @teddeler 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +243

The story of the first Thanksgiving is so much more interesting after studying history. It would be cool if you could do a TV series that included all the details.
The pilgrims suffered persecution in England, were welcomed in Holland (along with every other religion) but didn't like the habits being picked up by their children so decided to come to the New World.
They planned on settling in Virginia but got dropped off further north than they wanted which meant they suffered a much harsher winter than they'd planned for.
The land looked deserted because it was. Disease had ravaged the east and the Tarrantine (from what is now Maine and Canada) had gone on the warpath down the coast. Indian nations too weakened by disease to resist them withdrew inland to get away from them. The pilgrims settled, not virgin wilderness where they would have had to cut down a forest to plant crops, but land already cleared and used for agriculture.
The Wampanoag welcomed the Pilgrims. They knew they had connections with a powerful nation across the ocean and could potentially make very good allies. The Wampanoag were in need of allies because the Narragansett to the west were raiding them and making them pay tribute. The Pilgrims allied with the Wampanoag and fought off the Narragansett with them.
Tisquantum (Squanto), the English speaking Indian who welcomed the Pilgrims for the Wampanoag, knew English because he'd been captured by a slaver and taken back to Europe where he was freed by Spanish Jesuit priests who objected to the enslaving of natives (Spain had made it illegal). He made his way to England and then back to the New World (twice - he got captured by another slaver and had to do it again). When he got home he found his people (the Patuxet) had been wiped out by disease so he joined the Wampanoag. He showed the Pilgrims a way to get their crops to grow in the New World (using fish as fertilizer). Ironically he probably learned that method in Europe.
Yes, none of this is directly related to that one meal we call the first Thanksgiving but as background I think it really adds to it.

Ironically the Japanese were in fact colonizers, they came from the mainland and were descendants of the first humans who traveled and settled in the area now known as China, then some groups split off and settled into the area known as Korea. And then another group split off from that group to settle into the Islands of Japan. Particularly the eastern southern half. Which was unsettled at that period, but then they came across a different group around the mid point of the main island. Which were the Ainu people. Slowly overtime with their more advanced food gathering techniques called farming they slowly out compete the Hunter gatherer society of the Ainu people slowly overtime pushing them back onto Hokkaido. And eventually they conquered them.
The Ainu people on the other hand, were a group of humans who went along the Siberian plains among a slightly earlier group of people migrating. That group was the one that crossed over the bereing bridge into the Americas, eventually becoming the native Americans. They split off from this group shortly before the bereing straight. And travelled South then crossed over to the island of sakhalin and settled there then moved south to Hokkaido and settled and then slowly started settling the north western portion of the main island until they started meeting the precursors of the Japanese ancestors.
It's pretty interesting, in my opinion of the history behind it, and that the Ainu people are closely related to the Native Americans in the new world.

The Pilgrims made a treaty with the Wampanoag tribe. The first 60 years or so, Plymouth and natives were allies. After that time, they fought. But the Pilgrims’ story is one good story of the how the Europeans and natives could co exist. It is so aggravating that people who should know better teach differently now.

I know it's hard to watch, but it's necessary for any intelligent person who wants to know what is happening: Dominion Movement..

I am eating some delicious beef stew while I read this. Cruelty to animals? Bad. Using animals as God intended? That's righteous.

Literally nothing on earth is "non-colonial" because every nation/empire that has ever existed has colonized other territories at some point. But hey, these people aren't exactly known for their historical knowledge.

I don't believe thanksgiving is primarily based on the beginnings of America, rather a unique and wholesome event where 2 different peoples, who will eventually be staunch enemies, just got together, ate a nice meal, and enjoyed a moment of fellowship and humanity

I celebrate Thanksgiving for having the life I am living in America.
First I celebrated at the diner, then at the range. Now I will take a walk at a state park and enjoy NATURE.
Lastly I will go rest before dinner watching a few movies.
After dinner, I might go back to the range.

I thoroughly enjoy people talking about a time in history as if they were there. Full of Facts in how things were and how people felt ... ignoring the plethora of writings from first hand accounts.
It's time to dig out the historic documents and memoirs to "re-tell" the story so we can all get on the same page.
