During his visit to the Kadiwa ng Pasko site at the Malanday Covered Court, the President checked the products being sold at lower prices by several participating sellers from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Food Authority (NFA) and beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) Program workers of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
He personally thanked all the participating government agencies and the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that have been helping the national government and his Administration to continue with its efforts in providing goods worth the hard-earned money of Filipinos nationwide.
As of date, the Chief Executive reported that there are around 350 Kadiwa centers all over the country. His Administration plans to sustain it even after the Christmas season.
Some of the available goods included rice priced at PhP25.00 per kilo, onion shallots priced at PhP150.00 per kilo and native onions priced at PhP170.00 per kilo. Noche Buena essentials were also sold at lower prices.
The Kadiwa ng Pasko caravan is the most approved program of the national government for the fourth quarter of 2022 with a rate of 84%, according to the 2022 End of the Year nationwide survey conducted by PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. from November 25-30, 2022.
The caravan aims to help local farmers to earn more through a direct farm-to-consumer food supply chain that eliminates several marketing layers while at the same time providing the local community with affordable high-quality products to help counter the effects of rising global inflation, especially this holiday season.
