Stu, you do a great job with these videos. What you are doing makes the memory for those that participate a more pleasant event. It is also inspiring for those like myself that are saving for Offshore Boats!
What a great way for me to enjoy my morning coffee . Sitting around -6 F in Northern Ontario , Canada . Heheh, that first boat, made me look it up. You know for research , just in case a windfall comes my way . Literally just started to watch .
MrDeman40 glad you are watching from Canada !! That's where it all got started for Me!! I grew up on the Welland Ship canal and did most of my boating growing up around Great Lakes and Minden Ontario! Floridian now but love coming home in the summer time when its nice there!
More incredible footage from fpc, you guys are awesome! I can’t get enough of these videos. Very informative and educational, all of your videos are like this. I get to see the badest boats on the planet and learn about them while touring beautiful Florida.
You are most kind !! Thanks for the positive feedback - trust me I read the comments and it goes a long long way with us .. and keeps the motivation going forward. More to come!
Great Job again Stu. Wow from going on your events almost 20 yrs ago and purchasing a CD with footage to just getting it here. Killer boats nowadays the Consoles are just spectacular. Cheers keep up the great job 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Problem with the engines now..the new outboards make little to no noise, so nothing to hear from up in the chopper. Thank god just a few of us with big stern drive V8's and straight headers!👍👍
Lisa, thanks for the kind words! Come on an join us some day soon! If you have a boat...that's a good start, but if you just want to come along and volunteer by joining our poker run staff, that could always work too! Email me anytime Stu@flpowerboat.com
yah it was just a little water hose in the transom that was leaking, barely visable but enough to suck air into the system and fry an impeller before I even left the dock.. Bummer!
HyperXism ...answer probably has many dimenions, but primarily lightweight, reliable, bolt-on horsepower that runs on easily accessible low-octane gasoline.. Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing made it an easy decision for buyers that want reliable long-range cruising, without sacrificing performance!
Commented on another video reasons I can see why the center console is becoming so popular and wow that I think 39ft mti with the red graphics is absolutely stunning! Now with the new Merc 450R can really have some great performance. Even though the Merc 400R is no slouch either and the fuel economy difference from the big cubic inch supercharged or other forms of forced induction performance boats isn't even close. Those Mercs use 1/4 of the fuel lol
Andy ...thanks for the comments. Just to clarify, if you are referring to Center consoles ...the MTI center console model is a 42 foot boat.. They also have a 39 foot boat but that is in the new catamaran series. Thanks:)
Eazy (below) is correct. If the average quad 400 boat is about .8 mpg, we do 600 miles, thats 750 gallons. Average price on the water is $ 4.50 lets say, thats about $ 3400 in fuel for a quad boat... It can go either way depending on what cruise speed you select, but most find a sweet spot around 50mph cruise. Thanks for asking!
JFK ... yah I think we busted him just before we went on plane to cross gulfstream:) Nobody likes wearing them but we are the paceboat so we have to set a good example for others:)
Not on this run, because we created a run to Bahamas just for Midnight Express owners, its call the Midnight Express Bimini Rendezvous, and can be searched here on this channel. Thanks for noticing!
8:49... showing everyone how to get your card the simple way! Not sure why everyone felt the need to put themselves at risk by standing on the bow of moving boat.
RUSS.. Always lookin' out for zip zap, but sometimes its hard when I'm trying to drive the Cigarette through those nasty waves in Haulover Inlet!! yikes!
You keep repeating “reliable center console”. What’s unreliable about a modern, mild 520 powered craft? You’ll see hundreds of problem-free hours on them.
Oscar yes 520 stern drives are reliable also,- but usually only two 520's on a powerboat...vs 3-4 outboards. We have learned over years, outboard applications have proven to be reliable with less maintenance than sterndrive. But trust me, I am a strong sterndrive lover....my two boats are mercury racing powered stern drives, five motors in all...
My only complaint is that there is So much TALKING!! I found myself fast forwarding hoping to hear the sound of the boats, but just kept hearing so much Bla-Bla. Let’s hear the boats, not the DJ working to stretch it out talking over the music.
North Northwest- sorry but you dont seem to understand our mission as producers. These are travel documentaries by design. Purpose is to educate viewers on who the attendees are, what kind of boats, destinations, activities, procedures...bla bla bla. This is not a monetized episode, nor is for promoting engine noise. There is very little because engine noise bc most are outboards and make NO detectable noise when underway. We have other videos that are focused on loud engines, but not on this series
If I may quote viewer @Brandonthorbahn : More incredible footage from fpc, you guys are awesome! I can’t get enough of these videos. Very informative and educational, all of your videos are like this. I get to see the baddest boats on the planet and learn about them while touring beautiful Florida.

"watch out for the dog shit." lol well played.
ALWAYS GOOD ADVICE, ...Right? And also, don't eat that yellow snow!
I noticed a shift from diesel engines to outboards. Is is because of the EPA and all the emissions stuff? Or another reason?

Florida Powerboat Club Stu Jones thank you for the answer! Your videos are amazing!!

How much fuel ⛽️ are you going through on a 6 day event with quad 400r’s??
I think the MPG on those are about 1-.5 MPG

seams to me that the MTI sail much better then the other, better then freman too.

the boats are going very very slow for the cards. Its not dangerous really

What happens if you gotta use the bathroom
these boats have lavatories, small but works!
