- Review of the REI Ruckpack 28 which is a lightweight all purpose bag that offers a useful organizational layout, robust harness system, and plenty of space for your hiking or travel essentials. The laptop sleeve could use a bit more padding, but for the price point of the bag the features that it includes are pretty impressive.

Thank you so much for the review and you're recommendations at the end. I have the older version of the Ruckpack 28 and don't like the changes they've made. The Kaban 2.0 is exactly what I was looking for. I had so much trouble finding a replacement for my backpack before finding this video.

Awesome! I been looking for a proper bag and this is it! I have an Orca Tactical but its falling apart based on what i put it through haha! YKK Zippers is a must & this is nice!

Thanks so much for the review. Do you know if I can attach the 28l to the osprey farpoint 40? The ruck pack 28 seems bulky but maybe doable?
Can we put the bag under the seat with Easy Jet? ( max. 45 x 36 x 20 cm)

Great video, thank you. It should be on REI's site with the pictures. I wouldn't have considered this bag with out this video. I don't need a spot for a laptop, or at least not such a dedicated one like other bags that dedicated a lot of space to it that I won't use. This one seems great and a bit smaller than my old dakine Patrol that is 36L and usually way too big 90% of the time

Is there a better(lighter) backpack under 200 usd that can be used for everyday use and travel as carry on? Weight is one of priorities
i have no idea with locking main compartment zipper when someone still have acces to open the bag with side zipper

I don't like the Terra Firma tan or black color. I wish REI (still) makes it in midnight navy blue (like for 18L) or forest green.

Looks rather compact for 28L..
Thank you for watching! I agree it doesn’t look as big as some other 28l bags but it can hold about as much, might be the simpler layout and the fact it doesn’t have a rigid shape
