Even not in a mental health setting I’m not very comfortable in group soon like I’m fine on my crowded buses but I’m not comfortable in groups where I have to socialize

I’ve been in a psych ward so I know what you’re talking about. My roommate slept all of the time in the psych ward. I could hardly sleep in the psych ward. I’m the one who walks back and forth the whole time. Lmao 😂 I’ve come across people who always color. Like me lol 😂

Some of the patients were mean . They stuck me in a room with someone who was in jail for 11 years and all he did was snore and fart and he always seemed high it was incredibly annoying !

They lost my blanket I brought from home. They didn't let me use it and then they have the awfulness to lose my blanket. How do you lose anyone's belongings as a worker? Unless you're a thief. That should be a fireable offense to steal from patient's belongings. They lost my robe too. And they didn't let me wear that either. They reimburse you the paid value of the items but that is still insulting. Thank you for not glamorizing the psych ward. It's not a 'fun grippy sock vacation'. It makes my blood boil when people joke about it being I don't cook or clean or something like that. I wear comfy socks there. Buy a roomba and order delivery of you don't wanna cook or clean. Buy some comfy socks and put them on your frigging feet! It's not a vacation. BTW I was the pacer walker. Many people that were there with me were either sleepers or they wanted to sit in the dining area and scream. We had the blanket person and the puzzle person and the reader who took the time in stride. I couldn't sleep much unless they gave me a gigantic dose of seroquel with my imipramine and even then it was hard to sleep. Pace pace pace. All day unless it was the two groups we got a day or eating time. Pace pace pace. I appreciate you being honest and not making it out to be some party. It really isn't, people. Please. You don't want to go to a mental hospital or psych ward unless it's a true last resort. It smells. It's hell. No privacy. You wish you were a turtle so you could hide in your shell. Much love to you for sharing this. I'm thankful to not be alone with feeling more traumatized than I went in with. My one admission is one admission too many. I stay with therapy twice a week and high priority medication management program. It feels overwhelming a lot of the times what I do outside with my behavior health organization I'm a client at but I remind myself would I rather give up four to eight hours a week for treatment and be able to be home or do I want to go back to the psych ward? I'd do anything to avoid the psych ward. The only good thing about the psych ward was show me how much choice I have over little things. I can go to the fridge or pantry for food when I'm hungry, I can shower any time I want. I have a bedroom to myself with a gigantic TV and playstation consoles. And I have a doggie that I can spoil with treats anytime I need to. Plus all the blankets that can fit on my bed, I have. You're restricted so much at the psych ward.

Fidget toys make me anxious. Idk. It makes me feel paranoid, kind of like how I used to have sleeping problems, I wouldn’t be able to be asleep, I would feel super enclosed, suffocated kind of. The weirdest way I could describe it was feeling small, my hands would get kind of numb, I really hate sleeping and small things lol.

I liked the mental institutions I went to until I moved and went to a different one where people had screaming fits. They call it institutionalization when you prefer to be locked up than in the real world. These days they don't want me in there until I do something bad( they won't keep me locked up in the meantime because it would be a long stay ). I usually am hospitalized for10 days and I don't think I'll ever be back. The only reason I went the last time was because I needed medication because I had taken it all in two suicide attempts. I don't know how I survived that, I just woke up the next day unable to walk straight. But I don't want to make light of suicide, I thought this video funny. I am not subscribing because I have too many subscriptions but I will check out your other videos, I will remember because your last name is memorable, Syd Barret the founder of Pink Floyd was schizophrenic.

I got put on this ward after having a mental breakdown after taking speed for 40 years 😜 let's just say I was one of the more normal people on there 😜 they are f-cking looney tunes
