    The beginning of the total destruction of Cole's character by the writers of this show
    They could never make me hate him, I don't care what anyone says, I'll always believe this man truly loved Phoebe to the end, they messed him up terribly

      Yes I agree bad writing

      They also turned the sisters (especially Pheobe) and Leo into horrible people by turning on Cole for things he couldn't control. I mean how many times did they turn evil through no fault of their own. BAD WRITING!

      @Eco-pu2zs exactly, he did so much for them and they seem to forgot

      @@Eco-pu2zs He's probably the character with the most botched attempted redemption arc, I can see why Julian was getting tired of the writers building Cole up just to tear him down again and again, at least he seemingly found peace in the afterlife, and that scene when Phoebe feels his presence... In my headcanon they ended up together idc

      @@jisoochrist Don't know which timeline you're talking about, but Julian McMahon was in a sense the reason they destroyed his character. He was leaving charmed, and they needed a fast exit strategy for Cole. The writers sort of did to Cole what Game of Thrones did to Daenerys Targaryen. SPOILER ALERT in the comics he meets with Pheobe again and she forgives him, and they make peace shortly before helping them stop Prue who had become super powerful and crazy. BUT...he sacrifices himself to save Coop and his soul was destroyed, leaving her both grateful and heartbroken. So..... did he get a happy ending? Depends on your point of view.

    This is where they started doing Cole so wrong. Making him the Source was a great idea. But having everyone turn on him when he tricked and possessed against his will……

      Agree bad writing especially in season 5, and even worst makes me dislike Phoebe character even more

      @Julian wanted to be off the show. He promised the studio he would do half the season, (if you notice he’s directly only in 13 episodes leading up to the 100th episode, so the cast could officially become syndicated). He was filming a movie “Premonition” and also got his own show Nip/Tuck where he was the lead character for six seasons. He’s a fantastic actor and never wanted to be locked into this role for too long.

      @COSMICCFREQUENCY144 ok that's great but I wish they would of wrote him off better storyline

      @@COSMICCFREQUENCY144 there is still a right way and a wrong way for a character to be written out. Say the show went pretty much how it went. Cole as the source is vanquished. Then in the finale pheobe saves him from the demon afterlife. He comes back as a mortal but this time with no powers. He leaves to became a champion of the human world as an attorney, using his legal knowledge to help those in need in a mortal way.
      OR
      Same thing as og happens and he comes back with demon powers. However because he’s now human and his evil side is completely gone, he can use the powers to do good and be a champion for the side of Good. He leaves SF and the haliwells to fight evil elsewhere. He promises to never forget his love for pheobe or the good that his time with the girls has taught him, while also promising to be there for them if they need him. They kiss….and he shimmers out.
      Either one of these scenarios would’ve written Cole out in a honorable way, doing right by the character and what he had become to the show. It also would’ve allowed them to bring Cole back if Julian had ever wanted to reprise his role.

      @@jessedellross3245 no disrespect but that’s all boring lol. Cole was a bad boy through and through and we loved him for It. He wasn’t Leo, he wasn’t one of the good guys, he was who he was, he went out amazingly in the bad ass way that he should’ve.

    They did Cole so dirty here. It would have been nice to see Cole fight being the Source, and overcoming it. Or at least sacrifice himself in the end to destroy the Source in him in the name of good.

  • @jenm6476
    @jenm6476 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

    Making him the source was brilliant. However, I don’t understand why they turned on him knowing he was possessed. Him overcoming the source would have proven love over evil which he struggled with since the beginning. Or at the very least he could have died for the greater good or for his love to Phoebe. Seeing the seer as the source would have been great. Hated what they did with him and the show after season 4, it was nearly unwatchable after. I on,y stayed around for Holly Marie Combs.

  • @sifilore9462
    @sifilore9462 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

    The Seer was honest about her vision when she summoned Cole to stop the source and when Paige asked where did his powers go. She just wasn't direct in all upfront details. Cole was more than possessed by the source, he was being absorbed from the inside out. most demons think when they gain the powers "of", its a demon that has risen higher up the ranks. But really its like with Cole. The Source is a sentient power. The whole thing of "Will u control the power? Or let it control u?" This is literal. Oh, and regaining demonic powers makes him cambion (half demon, its the proper name) again!? I think he's more of an empowered human.
    In may fanfic idea to save Cole. He tells Phoebe. But they can't make any binding potion like before. Instead a purifcation potion, to purge the source's essence. He keep the powers, but its all good now.

    Key Points about Voodoo Dolls:
    Symbolic Representation: In Vodou, a doll may be used as a symbol or representation of a person. Practitioners might use a doll to focus their intentions, prayers, or rituals for healing, protection, or other purposes.
    Not for Control: The idea that voodoo dolls are used to control or harm someone is largely a myth. While some practitioners might use dolls in rituals that are intended to influence a person's life or health, the primary focus is often on positive outcomes, such as healing or guidance.
    Cultural Misunderstanding: The portrayal of voodoo dolls in movies and media often emphasizes the idea of curses or malicious intent, which misrepresents the actual practices and beliefs of Vodou practitioners. This has contributed to stereotypes and misconceptions about the religion.
    Rituals and Intention: In Vodou, the effectiveness of rituals often depends on the intention behind them, the connection to the spiritual world, and the specific beliefs of the practitioner. The use of dolls can be one tool among many in a broader spiritual practice.
    Historical Context: The history of Vodou is complex, involving elements of resistance against colonialism and oppression. The negative portrayal of voodoo dolls can be traced back to colonial attitudes and the demonization of African spiritual practices.
    Conclusion:
    Voodoo dolls are not tools for controlling others in the way often depicted in popular media. Instead, they serve as a means for practitioners to express their intentions and connect with the spiritual realm. Understanding the cultural and spiritual context of Vodou is essential to grasping the true significance of voodoo dolls.

    Besides, it's just a televison show, not your whole life.
    Let Charmed rest in peace, once and for all.

    Voodoo has been associated with modern black magic; drawn together in popular culture and fiction. However, while hexing or cursing may be accepted black magic practices, Voodoo has its own distinct history and traditions.
    Voodoo tradition makes its own distinction between black and white magic, with sorcerers like the Bokor known for using magic and rituals of both. But practitioners' penchant for magic associated with curses, poisons and zombies means they, and Voodoo in general, are regularly associated with black magic.
    Black magic (or dark magic) traditionally refers to the use of magic or supernatural powers for evil and selfish purposes.
    The influence of popular culture has allowed other practices to be drawn in under the broad banner of black magic, including the concept of Satanism. While the invocation of demons or spirits is an accepted part of black magic, this practice is distinct from the worship or deification of such spiritual beings. The two are usually combined in medieval beliefs about witchcraft.
