    This is a very informative video. My old Dixie Narco from the early 1980's didn't come with a manual. However, it seems to be quite similar sans the vending and door sensors. If I ever need to replace my compressor, I feel like I can do it after watching this video. I like your other videos. Too bad that you don't have any old 'vintage' machines to service. Mine is not old enough for the Soda Works people, and too old for most modern vendors. Mine falls into a 'donut hole' if you will. I subscribed to your channel.

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah...Dixie Narco stack machines are pretty easy to swap out the compressors too. I think the old machines look neat, but they are not practical when trying to make money with a vending machine....so I only buy machines mid-90s or newer.

      @@HappyVending We got ours dirt cheap from an old Coke delivery man (retired) who was able to take one home in the early 90's when this model was replaced by newer machines. It is in fantastic shape other than the coin mech needed repaired. It's still an S75. I'm putting a 3340 in it. I live in a touristy town. I bought it mainly for my family and I've always wanted to own a soda machine. If other people or neighbors use it, wonderful. If not, no big deal. However, if I get bitten by the bug, this may be something that I look into. I am thinking about taping dollar bills to a few random cans, or making certificates to local businesses in town to put on select cans. It might add to the fun and more people might use my machine?

    so i just purchased a Royal GIII. fortunately the previous owner gave me a 6 mo warranty since he replaced the cooling deck several months back. the compressor does kick on but the condenser coils don't get cold. i was thinking it needed to be charged. i know you mentioned that you would have a refrigeration specialist come out, but is it something i can charge myself? i was thinking similar to charging the system in a vehicle.

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The connection from the machine to the cooling deck is just de relay with the plug right? The temperature sensor is not connected directly with the cooling deck, its connected with the controlboard im right? thanks

    Where would the fan relay be located

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of my machines have a relay for the evaporator fan. When the machine is on, the fan is always on. The relay kit was an added option and you would mount the relay somewhere in the cabinet. If you go to the relay test in the config menu, and you try to test the fan relay and it doesn't turn off the fan, then your machine probably doesn't have the relay either. You can contact Royal about getting the relay add-on kit, but it is easiest to just leave the fan on all the time.

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you have a ground fault interrupter on your cord that is going bad. Is that permanently installed, or is it on a little pigtail that the power cord plugs into? Is the machine located outside? I don't use GFI on any of my machines. If this machine is inside, I would just put a regular power cord on it. If you really need a GFI on it, you could install a GFI outlet in the wall and just put a regular plug on the machine.

    why not check the compressor with your multimeter to see if the compressor is grounded or shorted out? It could be just a simple start relay, overload or start capacitor. or it could be a wire that is loose, come on man!! If you walked by the vendor a few weeks ago and noticed the temp at 89 degrees and you let it go that long of time some of the cans or bottles could have exploded or started leaking..

    • @HappyVending
      @HappyVending 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Based on the age of the unit, even if it needed a 3 in 1 start capacitor, that is only a temporary fix and it would eventually go bad again. It is a busy machine and I decided it was worthy of a new cooling deck. It's still working great to this day and has made back the money I put into the cooling deck 10 fold. Once I saw it was warm, I unplugged the machine and no cans exploded or leaked.
