Getting checked by the game warden while catching perch

This was a beautiful day at the very end of the season in 2023.
I had gotten off early from work and ran out to the lake to try once more for a decent walleye. The catch that eluded me for the whole winter. I wasn't successful but I did get some excellent jumbos and enjoyed the day out.
The game warden came to check that I was up to snuff and we had a great conversation while I was catching some perch.

Aint no way id put all that time and money into fishing for such a tasty fish like perch just to let them go .

Lol that's fair but we already have more than we need in the freezer. These late ice trips are chasing after giants and looking for a new pb. Plus it's a ton of fun ice fishing in 5 degrees above 0 for a change.
