You're missing out. 90s Phish was definitely peak, but they're still tearing it up today and a lot of their newer songs are fantastic in my opinion. Blaze On, More, Say it to me Santos, No Men, Everything's Right etc. I've got tix for the entire New Year's run at MSG this year. Totally looking forward to it.
@@hlf_coder6272 No I'm not missing anythiing. After seeing the band more than 200 times prior to 1999. On a summer tour in 98 I ran into Mike in the lot. I was all hyped and tried to shake his hand, he just sat in the golf cart and acted like I didn't exist. After that I dropped phish completely, it was in a parking lot in texas and Id been on the whole tour at that point. I was actually a deadhead before this and I got into phish more after jerry died to fill the void. Honestly I found a whole new music scene that was way better in the 90's. Ditched phish forever. There only good songs I've heard forever. I get tired of jams and their lyrics and their singing voices get on my nerves anymore. I'm good, I will leave phish in my memory. But I find phish to be old news, reminds me of high school in the mid 90s. Great memories but I'll leave it at that.

on this particular song, he switches scales. for instance, on the solo, he starts in A pentatonic, switches to C, G, D and so forth. You just got to know your "modes" and which "modes" work inside the main A pentatonic all throughout the neck. It's hidden far away
But someday I may tell
The tale of metal tangle
When into your world I fell
Without you now I wander soaking
Secretly afraid
'Cause in your grasp the fears don't last
(And some of them have stayed)
I wheeled around because I
Didn't hear what you had said
And saw you dancing with Elihu
Up on Leemor's bed
And I was foggy rather groggy, you helped me to my car
The binding belt enclosing me, a Sample in a Jar
And on the market stands unfolding
With all their willies and their wares
I shuffle by alert but numb
To all the glances and the glares
And I think of you unheeding
All the times I raise my cup
It's now I know that you knew that
I'd soon end up end up
I wheeled around because I
Didn't hear what you had said
And saw you dancing with Elihu
Up on Leemor's bed
And I was foggy rather groggy, you helped me to my car
The binding belt enclosing me, a Sample in a Jar
You tricked me like the others
And now I don't belong
The simple smiles and good times seem all wrong
