Zoho Round -1 Aptitude Question
Excluding stoppages, the speed of a bus is 54kmph and including stoppages it is 45kmph. For how many minutes does the bus stop per hour ?

Speed when Not Stopping : 72 kmph
Speed when Stopping : 63 kmph
Distance = 72-63 = 9 km
Time = Distance / Speed without Stopping
=> t= 9/72 = 1/8 hr ==> 1/8*60 = 7.5 minutes

The Formula is
Time = ((Greater Distance - Lower Distance) / Greater Distance) * 60
Time = ((72-63) / 72) * 60
= (9/72) * 60
= 0.125 * 60
= 7.5 mins...

Without stop - bus1 - 72kph.
With stop - bus2 - 63kph.
Distance= bus1 - bus2
=72-63= 9kph.
Take bus1(without stop)to solve in this case,
D=9km
S=72kph
Bus1 = 9kph when bus2 stop
So,
T=d/s
=9/72
=1/8hours
Minutes:
1/8*60
60/8 = 7.5minutes.

Hi Bro,
I have a doubt in the values which you took...here i just want to know why we took the Bus 1 speed instead of Bus 2...or why not Bus 2?
Because what i thought is since we need to identify the stoppage time, i thought Bus 2 speed needs to be considered because bus 2 stops.
So can you explain about this bro, why we took bus 1 speed and not bus 2??
