I'm autistic, and I love the portrayal of Matthew in this show. Its so rare to see myself reflected in media, much less Christian media. Thank you for this, Dallas and crew! I love Matthew's journey, he is def my favorite character.

I like that when Jesus says "Yes I know him", that's when Matthew rushes out to Him. Interesting to think what that meant to Matthew., to be known, understood and cared about by someone, especially this Someone who he saw perform miracles.

When everybody saw a tax collector in Matthew, but Jesus saw an apostle in him. Truly amazing, that God doesn't see what we are now, he sees what we will become in future.❤

I love the character of Matthew! He’s a family favourite in our house. He is usually portrayed with a big beard and walking around rlly arrogantly with all his money and stuff. But this Matthew…seems VERY different! So relatable and such a powerful performance by Paras! Love Matthew and love the chosen!!!!!

So much growth as a person. Approaching Mary when she had her set back and became ill. He held her hair back because he cares for her. She is now a part of his family. For the young man who before at the sight of that would have gotten sick himself, he went to help his friend ...his sister in Christ Jesus. And the moment his father called him son. The pride in his parents eyes. Matthew now had peace.
My sisters both have autistic children. 1 niece 2 nephews. And I worked with autistic children back in the day. Matthew had a special place in my heart. Thank you for this. ❤️❤️✝️

LOVE, LOVE me some “ Chosen”. Paras totally immerses himself into his character. Rarely have I witnessed an actor so convincingly portray an autistic person with such believability.
Matthew is my favorite character development in the series. He reminds me so much of my sons and their struggles with their faith.
This young actor deserves serious accolades. This is an extraordinary, original portrayal.
When reading the book of Matthew the thought came to me of how much of the gospel was packed into this one book. It seemed highly probably someone like the character of Matthew would have recorded every word. I have worked with children on the spectrum and those that are extremely highly functioning would want everything just exactly right. I love this character. Thank you Dallas and the writers of The Chosen.
I have listened to a podcast about Matthew, where the podcast believes that the book was written to outsiders. There are so many outsider’s stories told in this book, and Matthew, having been an outsider himself knows that feeling. And the amazing blessing of being asked to join. To be included. To be wanted is so healing.
And Jesus’ invitation to Matthew is an invitation to every outsider. Jesus knows each one of us by name. He knows why we’re outside. And still, He wants every one
of us! Hallelujah. 🫶‼️
Matthew's journey is all of us. We've all been rejected by society in some way. We've all made choices that have separated us from others. But Jesus calls us all, loves us all, wants us all, regardless. His grace is sufficient.
Thank you Jesus, for seeing us, knowing us, redeeming us.

The way Matthew is portrayed in The Chosen is so relatable for me. I ❤ Matthew!
Being able to witness Jesus reach out to Matthew in spite of everything he's done speaks to the deep love of Jesus that surpasses our understanding. Even in our mess He's able to love us more than we'll ever do. On top of that we're also able to see how transformative that love of God was in Matthew. Cant wait to see this season
Our grandson is on the spectrum, so naturally, Matthew is one of our favorite characters.

I have watched all three seasons back to back for over 3 months now. I don't even know how many times. Every single time I hear or see something new- something that sparks curiosity and hope in me. There are no words to express just how much this series has meant to me. This has become my life. I study my Holy Bible daily. God Bless you all for bringing Jesus and his early followers to life. You have literally given me role models to model my life after. Thank you!

I've seen many people talk bad about the show and they I guess they are entitled to their opinions but I also see you've encouraged many people to start reading their bibles and seeking God which is more than many Churches and pastors out there. Matthew’s character is one of my favorites in the Chosen. The look on his face when Jesus stops walking, turns and calls his name, and says “Follow me”, is priceless. A look of confusion, and yet a look of hope, rejected by all, but not the Messiah, says it all. We all, because of sin, would be rejected by Holy God to enter heaven on our own, but because of Jesus, the Messiah, we are accepted and redeemed, and can one day live in heaven with Him. Thank you Lord Jesus.❤️✝️🙏🙌

I relate a lot with Matthew in TC, not only because my name is also Matthew, which my mom chose it because of the disciple and the meaning of it's name "Gift of God". But also because he's a lot of times all about logic and things making sense which I am too. Me too felt alone and outcast at some point until we have a personal encounter with Jesus.
I thank the entire crew of bringing this person to life 2000 years later and also Paras Patel, his acting and performance is phenomenal!

He is my favourite of disciples
The heartache of Matthew goes beyond any condition he may or may not have had. Jesus saw his broken heart. I think people who have been hurt by their own family can relate to Matthew just as much as those who have autism. Both have gone through feelings of rejections, hurt, pain and totally misunderstood. Only Jesus sees their heart, their pain and he calls them to come follow, because Jesus totally understands us all. Paras Petel does such a great performance of Matthew. I can’t imagine Matthew being any other way.

It's not just autism. It's the circumstances that make us unique and only God can use that in a unique manner.
I am autistic and I want to thank you for giving us such a positive and wonderful character like Matthew. It shows that he brought so much to spreading the word of Jesus because his autism allowed him to give so much attention to detail.
Yes I think they did a great job of not being stereotypical and they do a great job of showing how someone like Matthew can be successful in society and have meaning in life.

So Beautiful done are these two minutes. It says it all in 2 minutes, the pain, suffering and the break through to love. Bravo! No matter what religion or place in the world, we can all relate to Matthew in some way. In deepest gratetude Dallas, writer's and the whole crew for the best ever portrayal of a Jesus we can all love.
My autistic daughter has unfortunately left her faith, but I invite her to watch The Chosen and she really respects how genuine someone with neurodivergence is respectfully played. She likes how real everyone is here, and she may continue to watch some scenes. I pray for her to believe again because Jesus really loves her!
I could say this definitely leaves a good impression on me. I mean, I know Matthew wasn't autistic in real life, but with how it was pulled off for this show, it totally gave me the ability to relate to Matthew
because I went through similar situations he did I mean you know cause I have High functioning autism and mild mental delays and I could even say this gave my mom the ability to better understand me and every other kid she teaches with special needs, so yeah!

I just know Dallas is smiling ear to ear knowing so many are interested in this project. I cannot wait to see where this all leads AFTER The Chosen ends. All those intro snippets, flashbacks, talent pushing the word of God further. Mini-series or even an Apostolic Series. I would personally contribute 500$ for a 2-3 episode series of Saul (Paul), or anything really, this studio is addicting.
Matthew storyline is amazing! I love all the character arcs that he’s goes through and whatever your age is, there is always something relatable!
Paras is also an amazing actor !Can’t wait to see more of his performance in season 4!

I’m autistic and I can feel plenty of Matthew’s thoughts. There’s still a lot I don’t understand and I’ve had struggling times here and there but despite them the Lord still lets me lean on him and I end up feeling stronger every day. We must hang in there and let him direct us ✝️🛐🙏

I’m on the spectrum and the way I relate to Matthew so much is part of the reason I love the chosen. I was also bullied terribly in a Christian middle school and I felt hated, I was hated except for only a few close friends. I relate to him in the way he was treated and his communication struggles as I have trouble communicating with large groups of people. Thank you so much for writing Matthew’s character like this and I can’t wait to see Matthew’s character in season 5 and beyond.
I have two autistic grandsons, at different levels, and Paras Patel's acting is so convincing I had to look him up before I could believe he was actually ACTING. Wow!
