I actually forgot about Giovanni Reyna. He was never really a regular starter on Borussia Dortmund, but last season was a total nightmare for him and it was a season full of regression for him on 2 different clubs. He found it difficult to break into the starting lineup at Borussia Dortmund as he was spending a lot of time on the bench and there was a lot of games where he didn’t even play. On a club that’s known for nurturing young talent, Reyna became a forgotten man and going to Nottingham Forest in January looked like a good move for him on paper because you would think that he would regain his confidence and play regularly. That wasn’t the case for him on a team in the middle of the premier league table because he didn’t find his place there and even there he remained on the bench and didn’t look great when he played. He is still owned by Borussia Dortmund and given their history at developing young players, you would think that they would give him another chance and he should stick around, for his career he might have to do what’s best for him as he needs to play.
Ansu Fati and Moise Kean still have a chance imo, if Fati just stops getting injured and if Kean just stops getting loaned out everywhere but Muokoko without a doubt will do good the guy just had a different playing style than his manager so once he gets used to it he'll do good again
riuqui puig is somebody I forgot about he broke into the barca squad and I thought he would be the next xavi but now he plays in the major soccer league for Los angles
I love Gio Reyna, he always balls out for the us, and is the biggest American talent oat, he’s just struggled this season and always has struggled with injuries
It’s hard to believe Youssofa Moukoko is only 19 years old it seems like he has been around forever. I remember all the hype and excitement around him when he was about to make his debut in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund as with what we heard of this guy when he played for their youth team he was born to score goals and had a prolific record and we thought that he would translate that into the first team. That hasn’t happened for him so far and he did well in the 2022-23 season where he was called up to the Germany national team for the World Cup, things were complicated for him last season. A lot of people have forgotten about him already and he seems to be another player at Borussia Dortmund. He was their 3rd choice striker following the arrival of Niklas Fullkrug who led the line very well and Sebastian Haller is ahead of him in the pecking order and he was getting minutes on rare occasions and for his career it’s not good for him. Due to the fact that Borussia Dortmund give young players chances, Moukoko would have plenty of time to get back in favor, if not he should go out on loan.
Moise Kean seems to be enjoying an interesting journey in his career and he must be having fun with it. He was a very promising player during his first stint at Juventus and he showed glimpses of what he can do, but since 2019, he’s had so many ups and downs going from club to club without finding a permanent home. He was a massive flop at Everton for some reason it didn’t work out for him in the premier league and he was struggling on a mid-table team and when he was at PSG, he was pretty good to be honest. He wasn’t expected to be a regular starter there, when he played he chipped in with a couple of goals when he was on loan before returning to Juventus for a 2nd stint in 2021 where he was then signed on a permanent basis 12 months later. Once again, he has done absolutely nothing there and remind me if he’s a footballer or a TikTok dancer because every time I see him he’s more known for his vibes than his footballing ability and that’s saying something about his career. In January, he should’ve been an Atletico Madrid player by now, the move didn’t materialize because his body is made out of glass. What Kean needs is to truly find a club that is right for him because he’s at a stage of his career where he’ll keep bouncing around from team to team.
I always enjoyed Reyna. Sad to see him fall off since in his Dortmund days he was a serious baller. Just a likable player. And I would not say anyone forgot about Gonçalo Ramos because he is not receiving the same hype be he is still a big name and deservedly so. I have seen him play for PSG and he has been preforming top class.
You have to feel for Ansu Fati. Remember when he broke into the first team at Barcelona in the 2019-20 season there was a lot of optimism around him, breaking records left right and center with every goal and appearance that he made, he was exciting to watch and he looked as if he would be their next big superstar after Lionel Messi and when he left he took his number 10 jersey and at the time there were people including myself who believed that he was a better player than Vinicius Junior. Fast forward 4 years later, his career has massively stalled as recurring injuries have reduced his game time he has lacked confidence in his game and he doesn’t look anywhere near the player that looked so good when he broke onto the scene 4 years ago. As I’ve said before, some of these injuries both Barcelona and the Spain national team are heavily responsible for this as this isn’t the first time they’ve mismanaged the development of their young players as we’ve seen with Pedri and Gavi, the same thing could potentially happen to Lamine Yamal. At Barcelona under Xavi, he came a fringe player making most of his appearances off the bench and found game time hard to come by and the emergence of another academy player in Lamine Yamal made him an afterthought and his loan spell to Brighton was supposed to help him get his career back on track, even there he barely even played when fit and he missed a couple more months due to another injury. On a mid table team in Brighton, the guy wasn’t good enough to get into the starting lineup and towards the end of the season he was an unused substitute in a lot of games. In a span of 4 years you went from wearing the number 10 shirt at Barcelona to struggling to get a game on a team that finished 10th in the Premier League with all due respect to Brighton. He is still 21 years old and I don’t want to write him off, now that his loan spell at Brighton ended and it didn’t work out whether it’s under Hansi Flick at Barcelona or he finds another club, hopefully he turns his career around as he’s at that rate of being the next Bojan Krkic.
I feel like being called "The Next [INSERT POPULAR PLAYER] ends up cursing the person's career. The only person I've seen breaking this curse is Messi when he was called the next Maradona
Billy Gilmour: ✅ Crucial part of Brighton’s midfield ✅ Dictate build up play from back ✅ Played in Europa this season ✅ Call up for Scotland ✅ He’s only 23 Hardly a discarded footballer everyone has forgotten about
Fati was more about poor injury recovery by Barcelona like his knees area already gone in my opinion and that’s taken away what made him special originally his ability on the ball sure it doesn’t help when his father and agent are doing stuff but I feel like there’s context behind stuff like this for example Pedri has has the same issue the last couple seasons where he can’t stay fit due to being overplayed
I remember that Moukoko was 15 years of age 12years ago; with the page claiming he lied chunks of age and now he is 19😂😂😂 African players God is watching you
1. Ansu Fati
2. Billy Gilmour
3. Moise Kean
