I love hearing Jazz and swing from all over the world for different themes like dancing or chase scenes, and John Williams is no exception at making the hectic and flowing swing music of the day.
Such a great song! This is the Marching band arrangement. I know this because I played this song and I have the sheet music its a Jay Bocook/Will Rapp arrangement.
@britishpirate93 this is not the original soundtrack recording, it's very obvious...but you are right, it's quiet a good version of the song but i have to say that i am loving the original recording much more, it's a bit longer and groovier and you can really hear that it's a john williams composition & arrangement :-)
This is not from the original soundtrack, and not the version used in the movie. This is some other band producing this, copying the original. It was extremely well done so thank you for posting it!
Absolutely the best cinema dance scene ever, as done while this song played in the movie 1941! The only other that comes close is Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz in The Mask.
OMG Me and Everyone in Kingston Tiger Marching Band played that 3rd song in our 2014 Field Show Season called "An American Story A Tale From The Heart Of The City" in every Competitions including NYSFBC Championship in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse NY back in the Year 2014 ! :D
SUCH a great track, but yes, the original is nearly twice as long and thus contains this incredible build so that by the end you are just wild with swing. In a way the longer version does for swing what Ravel's "La Valse" did for the waltz: spins a popular dance form off into near primal anarchy (and ecstasy).
Anthony Enos You should look into genres like Math Rock. Bands like Chon, Intervals, and numerous others have a ton of talent and make some pretty good music. There’s still good music being made today, it’s just not the mainstream sound.
We played this in marching band along with In The Mood and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy as part of our hit WW2 tribute show in 2007. We had people coming to games just to watch us in the halftime show! Brings back great memories!
I still have yet to see this movie, actually. What happened was that I went on a search for more songs with the same style as Sing, Sing, Sing, and found this one.
well, i found no place to hear it in full lengh. but if you like i could upload it at mediafire or something like that. you have to know that i have all cd releases of the score. album, promo & expanded / limited one. there are two different versions of the song out there: movie & album version...if you like i can upload 'em for you if you (just like me) fall in love with this piece :-)
Watch Kyoto Tachibana Shs Bands of Japan's performance they modified there Theme song Sing,Sing,Sing every year with some verses of Swing Swing Swing here is an example th-cam.com/video/LPNAWtXWuf4/w-d-xo.html
According to the laws of TH-cam, I am guilty of having found out about this song from the 3rd Harry Potter film. A despicable crime, as this site's comments would have one believe.
The original themesong of KT was Sing Sing Sing. Every year they modify it to make it unique for every batch. And for many years they have been mixing and collaborating both Sing Sing Sing and Swing Swing Swing together. even if it starts with Swing Swing Swing but they make sure to always end it with Sing sing sing until 2018-2022 when they changed back to full Sing Sing Sing
Well, thanks for the confirmation. Do you have a link to the original, so I can listen to it? I still haven't heard it because, well, I can't find it, or this one might not be uploaded.

Performed this back in high school for band. Great times.
kyoto tachibana

THIS.
Such a great song! This is the Marching band arrangement. I know this because I played this song and I have the sheet music its a Jay Bocook/Will Rapp arrangement.
Jay Bocook, marching band composing legend. This was always my favorite version
Playing this on the marching band. This song makes me proud to be an Alto Sax
Me two I can't wait to get it down
played this for marching band couple of years back! Have fun!
@britishpirate93

Definitely not the original version from the movie.

No hip-hop or gangster rap real music played by actual musician.Pray for a return to good music......

Playing this trumpet solo in marching band. Thanks for the upload!
I've been looking for this forever!!
Played this song back in my high school jazz band days (I was bass). It was pretty much the best thing ever.
Giggity55555
Wait Betty!... WE GOT TO DANCE!!
That's good that you get to play it! Being in a jazz band is a great experience, to say the least. Have fun while you're involved!
We played this in marching band along with In The Mood and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy as part of our hit WW2 tribute show in 2007. We had people coming to games just to watch us in the halftime show! Brings back great memories!
I’m sure you probably played sing sing sing.
The birth of Rock & roll. I LOVE this tune!
This tune was written in 1978.
We're playing this in marching band this year as our finale, with our own drum solo for the first one. Yeah Hollidaysburg!!:)
We played this song for fieldshow when i went to uintah. But now i go to union and we don't have a marching band. Sad day. -_-
funny thing we are playing and marching it for our show this year
I still have yet to see this movie, actually. What happened was that I went on a search for more songs with the same style as Sing, Sing, Sing, and found this one.

If you buy the Actual piece the string bass part is given to the Tubas. Our band played it earlier this year.
Well, I'm glad to have helped you find a reference!
Nice, playing this for a john williams show for marching band. helped a lot in sectionals.
the elusive third song in Figrin D'an and the modal nodes playlist
Benny Goodman's "Sing, Sing, Sing"
John Williams' "Swing, Swing, Swing"

Original soundtrack version has Louie Bellson playing drums. While thus version is good original is Awesome.
RIDICULUS!
I can just see the young Dianne Kay dancing to this-yum! yum! yum!
ハリウッド!!
Hollywood!!
According to the laws of TH-cam, I am guilty of having found out about this song from the 3rd Harry Potter film. A despicable crime, as this site's comments would have one believe.
Well, it is a different piece entirely.
George Hamilton I know, but I honestly prefer this track over Dick Walters' "Hot Liquorice", which is the one used in the film's boggart scene.
Γιάννης Γαρεφαλάκης I do too, but I prefer "Sing, Sing, Sing" over this.
I had not seen this reply, until now, but I would appreciate that!
Can anyone tell me why was the name changed from "Swing, Swing, Swing!" to Tachibana's "Sing, Sing, Sing!" ??
The original themesong of KT was Sing Sing Sing. Every year they modify it to make it unique for every batch. And for many years they have been mixing and collaborating both Sing Sing Sing and Swing Swing Swing together. even if it starts with Swing Swing Swing but they make sure to always end it with Sing sing sing until 2018-2022 when they changed back to full Sing Sing Sing
You might have discovered the link by now, but if not, it is in the video description.
I prefer the original, but this is good
WALLY!!! LOOK OUT!
Based on sing sing sing by Benny Goodman.
The piece was written for string bass. Not tuba.
Well, thanks for the confirmation. Do you have a link to the original, so I can listen to it? I still haven't heard it because, well, I can't find it, or this one might not be uploaded.
Do you think you can post a download link to this version? @britishpirate93
Might be better than sing sing sing😮
Oh, well I don't know...
I play tuba! Thats how i knew
For those wanting a download: www.convertmemp3.com/file.php?id=23521875
Enjoy!
Thank you soo much! I can't even tell you how happy I am about this! Thanks again! :D
this is close but it isn't the original.
What is this score? Not the original Swing, Swing, Swing with the Gene Krupa drum solo.
Not the "Benny Goodman" Sing Sing Sing. But John Williams. Still darn good.
Prisoner of Azkaban
It is a different piece.
yup
Oh, please. Y’all came here because of Cadets 1995.
Im here playing this song for my High school band.
We played this song for fieldshow when i went to uintah. But now i go to union and we don't have a marching band. Sad day. -_-
