I told you, Mary: Everything will be alright. What matters most is the living moment. And WOW! It looks like all your followers in the UK are very disciplined and respectful people. Thanks for taking us along on this journey. I really appreciate it!
NOOOOO! I can't believe the next video is the last one! Thank you Mary for documenting this and sharing your life with us. You have motivated me to start writing and playing again. So excited to see what your future holds. 🤘💜
Great idea to go into the crowd as part of the acoustic set. Looked like you and the audience both enjoyed it. Also, apparently, you didn't have any equipment failures on this stop. So glad for you all.
Ahhh!!! I love that you ended up playing a song, in the middle of the crowd!!! 💜💜💜 I can only imagine how interactive, intimate, and surreal a moment like that was, being so unplanned, too. Thank you so much, for sharing this insight into your experience with financial mishaps, and making the shows carry on, regardless of how you feel. It's honestly, really important information, for us other musicians who follow you, and are doing/intending to perform and tour.
May you soar the sky and hear us praise for what you do; put a smile on our faces with your gracious music. Thank you Ms. Spender. Much success to your passion.
Simply Marvi Darling ,🤗 splendid , something special about the small club venue ! You can put this one in a file and put it in your memory for safe keeping 👍
That is amazing Mary. And it looks like you had so much fun doing that show. I'm glad you got the hearbreaker fixed. Looking forward to your next Vlog.
It was a fantastic night - extra, extra special with that impromptu acoustic break out into the crowd. Please come back soon! I was taken by surprise by the "Moses Moment" as I had never been to the Portland Arms venue and I was expecting the door at the back stage left to be the way on. I think, later on, Emi tried to get on stage that way but couldn't.
I'm getting old and still prefer to stand up and enjoy, or, at least, that kind of taller tables and seats, like mixing people seated and so on. Great show!
Looks like another amazing show. Even I, anglophile though I am, have heard of The Portland Arms by both name and reputation. Given its fame, I would have thought it would be a bigger venue, but it looks like a fantastic place and show (and as a history nerd, the history of the place is so fascinating as well).
Ah, Emi caught me both times you came down the stairs... but I'm OOF, which is probably for the best! I heard someone comment that they haven't stood for so long in years; I was in the same boat, but it was worth it. Standing audience FTW. When you went into the middle of the crowd, was when I wished I'd brought my new DJI Osmo Action 4. I got the little stick that doubles as a tripod, but seeing it again here, it was definitely too tightly-packed for me to circle around the circle around you, heh. Probably inspired by the music video for Fear & Delight by The Correspondents.
Great stuff, Mary! I did try to get to the London show but it was not to be. However... NEXT TOUR! 🤣 🤣 🤣 (I've played with Duffy many times over here in Ireland!) ☘☮🤘🏽🤠👍🏽☮☘
I am enjoying these VLOGS, Mary. I am from Minneapolis, USA but was in the UK during this tour. Could NOT make it work to see you. But if you ever hold a US tour, please make Minneapolis/St Paul, one of your stops.
I'd drive down from Grand Rapids, MN 3.5 hours north of Minneapolis for one of our shows! Minneapolis is an Amazing music town with lots of terrific venues for you!
02:24 ".... obviously it´s October now in the UK" 🤦♂😂 Guess what Mary, it is on the whole planet! 🤷♀ 😂😂😂 But it start being cold winter season there, so we get what you mean anyway 🥶😂
I would love to have come and seen you at my local City. But without seating, i can't stand on my crutches for the set. I will have to hope the next tour has a seated venue near me.
la mia prima volta a Cambridge da Londra nel lontano 1991...bella citta'... congratulations for your fantastic Super Sexy tour...chissa' se hai in programma Roma....io ci saro'?
I've been to shows at places where there is no green room, the band just mills around with the crowd... I've also been to places where there is no backstage so the gear just sits off to the side of the crowd in cases until your band is due up (everyone just shared the basic parts of the drum kit, just switching out cymbals and snare).

I was there - it was a great show, and the moment she sung from within the crowd was truly electrifying. Thanks, Mary! 👏👏👏

I played the Portland Arms many times in the mid-1970s with Robyn Hitchcock and others. A fantastic and historic venue, indeed!
Ha, my daughter is impressed that I’m visible in the crowd on TH-cam! Really great show.

Ah beautiful Cambridge. Grew up just outside Cambridge, it was my home town for a long time. Really enjoying these videos.
Love that moment where the crowd kept singing at the end of your acoustic set, special moments that live music brings.
Absolutely loving these vlogs!!
May you soar the sky and hear us praise for what you do; put a smile on our faces with your gracious music.

That acoustic in the crowd moment was badass :) keep that as a part of ur show.
That is amazing Mary. And it looks like you had so much fun doing that show. I'm glad you got the hearbreaker fixed. Looking forward to your next Vlog.
Doing an acoustic set is brilliant Mary,... it has inspired me to do the same : ) instead of always having the orchestra and backup musicians : )
This is like living a dream vicariously through you. I gurantee everyone...EVERYONE is punting on your success.
Thanks for sharing what a awesome experience way cool cheers
Mary, you just keep getting better.
That's what I thought too when I watched this episode.
New addition to Bucket List is be at every venue on your next or 3rd tour
Oh..this was so cozy! Sweet! Cheers to Cambridge...and Happy Birthday, Paul (belated)!
What a nice modest setting. Looked like a real good show.
Loved the whole tour series vlogs.. great to see the behind the scenes stuff...

Goosebumps 🖤🖤🖤🪽
That looks like it was a ton of fun for everyone. Wish I could have been there.
What a great video!

Thanks Mary
I’m loving the way your tour is going (except the broken axe) thrilled for you and the band ❤
So much lookin forward for your videos!!

Nice nice nice Mary! Well done!!!
That was so cool, Mary! What a great venue. I love small rooms like that.
Hey Big Spender , very well done iam happy for you . I really enjoyed watching this and your music.
comforted to see most of your audience have less hair than me. hope to see you do Leicester next time round
As they say in Southern California...BUENO!
My band played the Portland in the 90s. It was a bit different back then!
Loved it🎼👏👏👏💐.
Awesome! Wish I wasn't over 3,000 miles away.

The beginning of these videos sound like a holiday programme like Judith chalmers used to present👍
what a thumbnail that is. there is a light and it never goes out.
I enjoyed my time as a student in Cambridge so hope you got to see some of the highlights. Sounds like it was a hell of a night!
I would love to have come and seen you at my local City. But without seating, i can't stand on my crutches for the set. I will have to hope the next tour has a seated venue near me.

I hope security was alerted ahead of the show.
Awesome ❤❤❤❤❤❤
The back of my head is very famous.
❤❤❤
Nice.
👏👏👏
Will there be a live album ?
Why on earth do people go to gigs and watch it through their phones?? so soul destroying, enjoy the moment.
ok Mary question, why not have the acoustic & yourself hooked up to a wireless system, that way you can play & sing during those rare stand-up crowds?
Cool
It was October everywhere 😂

cell phone flashlights are a poor substitute for a bic
What surprised me at the Southampton gig was how much the phone torches when all on together lit up the room
Is the special thanks section tour sponsors???? How did you get Apple?
That's proper rockstar behavior.
Hang on a minute - how many birthdays did Pau have? 😂 those at Southampton will understand the question!

David Gilmour was a Cambridge scholar.
His father was a Cambridge scholar, he wasn't.
@@DaveyDeSade David Gilmour, and Roger Water and Sid Barrett were Camrbidge schoolboys
@@edweatherup3887 yeah, I know. That's not what scholar means.
@@DaveyDeSade Yes I know, that was my point.
