I miss this band so much. Saw them in Ohio for Parrot Flies release tour and it was this tiny bar packed to the back with tons of people crowd surfing in a 8’ tall room. Never been to a more fun show.
So glad I had the opportunity to see this band a bunch of times. They were so energetic and fun. The amount of other bands these guys were in is truly jaw dropping and they were all really good.
A guy named Nick played drums on this record. He was also playing in a punk/hc band called drawing dead at the time. A band I was in did a weekend with drawing dead, one night after a show, he played us this demo in our friends car, and said they hadn't released it yet. We were all blown away, he was so casual about it. Fell in love with this record that night. He gave us a burned copy of it. I still have it.
the bass vocalist was in bands such as Halfway to holland (Pre algernon cadwallader), D'Amore and is now in a band called Stable boys. all three are very good
My sea legs went south Where they put strange Creatures on old maps Imagine if they Never had a Net at the circus Circus! This definitely leaves book amounts of time For those long boat rides home To think about where waves are going Or pray for a new home inside a whale's stomach That i could decorate like an elephants. jonathan hunsucker algernon legit are a product of capn jazz.... themselves will admit that to you... i mean christ, obvious bands like "Scary Kids Scaring Kids" and "Basils Kite" and "Flashpoint Catheter" I mean come on man....
+Brandon l i much prefer algernon. i feel like algernon snowing and the world is all rep their own steez. cj is dope but cmon algernon was its own thing.
Look down (because the ground is easier to understand and doesnt’t take so much work to figure out but i’d rather not know where i’m standing and have an idea of what life is all about)
i'm all too familiar with halfway to Holland. fucking love halfway to Holland ah. gotcha. i'm gonna have to re-listen to both of those to really compose a thought bout it :P
@@trailraya646 Algernon Cadwallader was the first recorded citizen of their hometown: Yardley, Pennsylvania. They all grew up in that area, hence the name.
I'll never forget 2005 they played my stupid town with 10 people in the audience, and turned me into emo rock!
so YOU are the mythical Emo Rock. It is a pleasure to meet you!
Ryan Brennan very very funny Ryan Bryan

This is my favorite Cap'n Jazz album...
Cap'n jazz doesn't have shit on algernon. Tf outta here
+jonathan hunsucker eat shit. cap'n jazz inspired this band and a few thousand others... without kinsella there would be none of this

Yeah no shit dude, but algernon are better. Cap'n jazz were sloppy af and most of the members were like 15

What does the name mean?
Cadwallader was the name of the devil in an old episode of the twilight zone and I assum algernoon is from flowers for algernoon

try and plant a tree on top of a computer, that's not happening.
though they broke up?
Jordan Wieber I believe they did.
Please place a trigger warning on a post like this, you’re making me sad
Am I only who mentioned that the intro of "Breath Wish" sounds like main riff of "The one with Tambourine" by American Football?
anyone know what other projects these guys are doing? (the vocalist sounds really similar to matt spinelli/vocals for the brave little abacus")
They remind me of Thursday
