yoshi is a solid wr3. they use him to clean out defenders. hes not doing his job wrong, theyre just giving him the grunt work. also he was more open than chase on chase’s td catch.

I'm gonna need Burton to learn the playbook front to back and dominate in practice. That way the coaches can't keep him on the bench. Also plz use TE/Slot curls in the middle of the field vs zone, KC and Baltimore run those over and over and get chunks with it. Also the hurry up offense could be a weapon in this offense
Why does he only have to learn it front and back? Other players such as Irwin; Gesicki; Hudson; and Jones doesn't fully know the play book and it shows out there on the field. But they still get to play snaps. Taylor could be considered a garbage coach.

It kills me how people were calling for Anarumos head after two poor showings with backups to low value players but yet the offense who they spent all the money on has two bad games and all you hear from people is exuses , explanations, and talk about a third WR. Does Burrow and Taylor have to have that many weapons? Any team in the NFL would kill to have two weapons at WR like Chase and Higgins yet peope want to make it about not having that 3rd WR. The ravens and Commanders games were 2 of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen. The Commanders game would be equivalent of an offense not getting one 1st down. It was an overreaction to call for his job, but criticism was warranted. I fault him and Taylor for not pushing the front office to get more DL help in the off season.

Iosivas is a good receiver. Burton should get on the field… Gisecki should get more catches too. I’m not worried about the third option. They have the answers. They just need to open up the playbook against these good pass rushes. I’m not even worried big picture wise because Yoshi and Gisecki and Burton have had those big games or big catches.
Zac gets out coached on almost every game! He’s no Andy reed on play calling. Andy doesn’t run all basic plays all game. He even lets the players come up with some plays. Taylor’s play calls are plays you would take right out of the official nfl offense play book. He still hasn’t figured out how to beat cover 2 or just two high safeties. I guess hasn’t got to that chapter yet 😅
I’m very interested in this defense over the course of the season if they can stay healthy. Obviously looked better the past two games against lesser offenses but they also seem to be gelling more as a unit. Battle is getting more run. Stone played a lot better. They could be interesting down the stretch.

Yoshi needs to be more of a possession receiver. If you are WR3 he needs to find a way to get open more when not in the red zone. If he can't get the separation on his own they need to figure out how to scheme him open, which can't be that hard given the resources teams have to devote to Chase and Tee.
I truly believe the coaching staff is holding this offense back guys, WAAYYY to much Talent on this offense. Just don't know if there are as many Guru's here. I coached high school ball years ago and I think I could draw up better plays in the dirt than what this coaching staff has. Squandering away time and talent.
I think its become pretty obvious Zac overlooks said bad teams teams we should beat and always looks ahead and game plans in a way where they can do the minimal and still win in order to not show a bunch of stuff for the next opponent. This isn't very smart because this is the NFL anyone can beat anyone but its not big of a deal if they don't drop the patriots game.

WTF is the issue with the redzone??? Milk toast play calling, when I see plays from the Chiefs, Lions, 49ers, Dolphins, I honestly can’t understand the lack of creative plays, and it seems like a lack of quick passes to start the game to help Burrow get a rhythm. And running it on 3rd and long….my brother in Christ, Burrow is the QB what is going on???

But when you truly look at Cincinnati's talented offense, you can obviously tell that someone isn't strategizing the play calling with a true football mind!! For example every time it seems they want to lean on running the ball more they have success and then out of the blue start back being pass happy. I've always said to start running the ball more on single back I formations to allow the O Line to penetrate the D Line and it works. Start doing stretch plays which makes the defense bite a little bit and throw it off... Zach doesn't have any smart strategic play calling... Use your TE more in the middle and/or make special plays let the defense see he's a threat. The shotgun handoff doesn't bring enough penetration for the O Line or it doesn't allow the RB to penetrate or be selective with the running lanes.... Look at the Browns running plays and how they have always ran with Chubb.... Cincinnati never run trap plays... Pulling the guard plays!! Zach doesn't have a good football mind!!! He garbage!!
It just dawned on me. We were letting mike browns family run the show and went to a Super Bowl. All the sudden mike browns front and center and we are doing the same things that made Carson Palmer leave.
They have to run the ball better. Look back at their high scoring games, it wasn't a lot of run plays but they were effective. And I'm not talking about the end of the game when the defense is selling out to stop the run.
I feel like the Bengals did a good job with their their o-line offense because they went against those browns junkyard dogs and the main one was Myles Garrett and the rookie on the o-line passed a test
I believe Burton number will be called this game. Maybe I’m being too optimistic but I do believe we play very conservative against bad teams so that we don’t show hand too early. In order for us to have those sneaky plays against better teams. Is it the best approach HELL NO but that’s what I’ve seen in the past 3 weeks.
The coaching deficit on the offensive side of the ball is to much to overcome. It's just not realistic to think the Bengals are contenders at this point in the season.
They’re getting no production from the the receivers outside of Chase and Higgins. Burton needs to be on the field asap. The play calling is predictable for some reason the TE’s have disappeared.
First, I think the offense needs to be explosive and keep the ball and control the clock. The defense I think is improving and can hold the Eagles as long as they can pressure Hurts, and stop the run. Second, Zack Taylor is the problem with this team, just like Marvin Lewis was the problem. He needs to stop calling horrible plays.
Charlie Jones should be a slot option. He showed excellent burst, contact running and body control on that kick return TD. They got the guys. Just do the committee and mix it up on defenses. Surprise them with your guys in different looks. They got so much speed and skill sets on all these depth receivers, it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
Jones isn’t that good or he would be an option. He’s a better kickoff returner than punt returner. He has straight ahead speed but can’t make anyone miss
Why are we so worried about the WR3 when Joe Burrow doesn’t have time to work thru his check-downs anyway? Why is the fact that if we have 3rd and 7 every defense knows to send a blitz because Burrow will get sacked 90% of the time…This is a glaring hole 🕳️ in the offense that gets ignored constantly.
Theres plenty of street ots out there who if healthy are better than what we have. Smith,baktiari,leno,Humphries...heck does Reilly Reiff want another Steak dinner or Lael want to shop at kenwood mall? Any of them bring more than Steuber or Coker. Gosh if Prince was scooped up by a team?
Guy's here's the thing against good def/ def coordinators who use alot of cov-3/ shell too take away the explosive plays or against great CB at all 3 positions & safeties or when team's double-team chase & Tee and the 3 option yoshi is facing a good player someone has too get separation and make a play cause ZAC & this coaching staff doesn't help alot bye scheme or scheming players open or in game adjustments an ZAC seems too rely on Guy's just making that extra play against every def play is a counter play like cov-3/shell is when ZAC needs too run the ball but if the off line is getting the push it's not as affected using TEs is a mismatch but ZAC & the coaching staff has to put players into position to succeed also buy calling the right plays or scheming

My criticism of ZAC Taylor is he never ever has this team ready for the start of the season and that starts in the off-season & training-camp and when these NFL analysts who's former coaches & players in the hall of fame questions what the heck is ZAC doing in the off-season because the team's never ready an I see it with my on eyes & the questionable play-calling at time's the lack of in game adjustments and you say well the defense just knows what ZAC going 2 call of course when it's the exact same off-scheme for the past 5 ys on crap we watch ZAC relying on chase &TEE & borrow too go win the game witch I want it in their hands but where's the help from the coaching staff at when is ZAC going too realize these defense coordinators aren't stupid they learn & adjust to his scheme / play-calling but only this yr ZAC tried mixing it up using 12 man under center a little but it right back 2 the Same old scheme anyone who knows FB knows ZAC Taylor at times holding this team back
If the Bengals can beat the Eagles CONVINCINGLY and quit going soft in the fourth quarter with run it up the middle plays then we can begin to have this convo. They lost to the Patriots, beat 3 of the worst teams in football and played it too close to win against the Chiefs and Ravens. Look at how the elite teams beat up on the Patriots, Panthers, Browns and Giants. They have been demolished and the Bengals kept most of those games pretty close. Barely beating 3 of the worst 4 teams in football and losing your home opener to the 1-6 Patriots isn't convincing. They have a talented squad but Zach Taylor gets out-coached. Some of our orange kool aid fans think fans like me are negative, we just want the team to have more common sense. Right now they clearly need a big bruiser running back to help with 3rd and short situations but they will do nothing, it's so frustrating. Look at how the Chiefs picked up Hunt and traded for Hopkins because the Chiefs organization is legit and doesn't take it's foot off the gas like the Bengals. Way too much competition this year, you have to be more aggressive in free agency or make trades and when the Bengals did they were more successful so why did they stop?
Eagles, Raiders, Ravens, Chargers and Steelers. The must wins are the Ravens and Steelers so they dont fall out of contention for the AFC north. They have to beat a Raider team that is not good. They need to beat then Eagles or Chargers...preferably both but realistically they need to go 5-1 minimum with wins at both Ravens and Steelers. This is why you dont want to start 0-3. We lost to New England ....at home... and they are 1-6. we have yet to beat a good team and have lost to one really bad team. I still think we'll go 9-8 at best. The offense other than 2 games has not been good. No running game to speak of. The offense despite its weapons has never reached full potential. Zac is only average as a play caller. The O line only average if that. The defense played well but it was the Browns. In general the defense has been bad with a porous run defense and not exactly killing it on pass defense.

5th worst rushing offense in the NFL. Joe Burrow is still Joe Burrow. Stale play calling and design. Defense ranked bottom 1/3rd in the league in pretty much every category. Best case this is a .500 team that either won't make the playoffs or will get bounced in the first round. Really this is a horrible position to be in. They are not competitive with the top teams, but every win they do get just makes their draft position worse. I say it is time to blow it up.

i believe its the play calling, when the same thing happens every year, the players change but coaches stay the same. Theres a problem, especially with the play calling, ive NEVER liked HC play calling for the O, especially Taylor. I dont care what people say, i dont care if they won, ive never liked Taylor play calling. I told my son you could grab a random Bengals fan out of the stands and call better plays then Taylor does...too predictable, and too conservative(Ravens, Browns game for sure)
Play calling is too much clock watching! We are so predictable. Give JB the RPO and calling audibles. He did this at LSU and had the talent to get the job done. Bengals cannot keep running the ball when it is not working.
It painful to watch this offense for most of the time. It's painful because it's supposed to have outstanding offense players on this team. But you watch other teams offenses and they keep the defense guessing , but not our. Run twice and then throw it to Chase or Tee. And then they let up while ahead and hang on at the end.
The pass rush is ok. They have a top 5 edge player. Same Hubbard is average at least, and BJ Hill is above average. Mix in rankins and jenkins and they’re solid
Why does Zac keep getting pass after pass? The Ravens have one decent WR and are 5-2. The entire Chiefs offense is mid and they're 6-0. We have one of the most talented teams in the NFL and we can only beat bottom feeders.

I dont think the ravens game and browns game compare with the ending of the game. The ravens game they absolutely should have thrown the ball. 3 straight runs made no sense, but 1 of those was Joe changing the play. But against the browns, i do kind of understand the thinking. The offense has been a mess all day, Cody Ford getting abused, 15 point lead with 4 minutes to go. Just run the ball, use clock and make the browns use their timeouts. Dont make a bad day worse, drop back, Ford gets man handled by Garrett and strip sacks Joe.
Iosivas was open on several plays and at least 2 times Andrei was wide open for TDs and on another play Gesicki was wide open But Burrow would probably have to skip reads like he did in the 2022 AFC championship game. Tyrann Mathieu said that Burrow skipping reads made it much harder to defend him. Or Burrow would have to throw to clearout routes

They're going nowhere. This season is a wash. And my guess is that they'll waste Joe Burrow's best years. I can't watch them anymore. They get pushed around by everybody, and I've never seen more unimaginative play calling. They'll be lucky to finish 8-9 this year.

We had a chance when Burrow was drafted to gradually assemble a strong team around our elite QB. Detroit did it around a lesser QB and they’re much better than us now. But I suspect it’s too late. Our defence, secondary, running game and coaching staff would all need revamping. Burrow would be in his 30s by then and past his prime. This ownership doesn’t deserve an NFL team. They’re too indifferent and incompetent.

I'm gonna need Burton to learn the playbook front to back and dominate in practice. That way the coaches can't keep him on the bench. Also plz use TE/Slot curls in the middle of the field vs zone, KC and Baltimore run those over and over and get chunks with it. Also the hurry up offense could be a weapon in this offense
Why does he only have to learn it front and back? Other players such as Irwin; Gesicki; Hudson; and Jones doesn't fully know the play book and it shows out there on the field. But they still get to play snaps. Taylor could be considered a garbage coach.

The ravens and Commanders games were 2 of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen. The Commanders game would be equivalent of an offense not getting one 1st down. It was an overreaction to call for his job, but criticism was warranted. I fault him and Taylor for not pushing the front office to get more DL help in the off season.

Iosivas is a good receiver. Burton should get on the field… Gisecki should get more catches too. I’m not worried about the third option. They have the answers. They just need to open up the playbook against these good pass rushes.

Zac gets out coached on almost every game! He’s no Andy reed on play calling. Andy doesn’t run all basic plays all game. He even lets the players come up with some plays. Taylor’s play calls are plays you would take right out of the official nfl offense play book. He still hasn’t figured out how to beat cover 2 or just two high safeties. I guess hasn’t got to that chapter yet 😅

I’m very interested in this defense over the course of the season if they can stay healthy. Obviously looked better the past two games against lesser offenses but they also seem to be gelling more as a unit. Battle is getting more run. Stone played a lot better. They could be interesting down the stretch.

Yoshi needs to be more of a possession receiver. If you are WR3 he needs to find a way to get open more when not in the red zone. If he can't get the separation on his own they need to figure out how to scheme him open, which can't be that hard given the resources teams have to devote to Chase and Tee.
I truly believe the coaching staff is holding this offense back guys, WAAYYY to much Talent on this offense. Just don't know if there are as many Guru's here. I coached high school ball years ago and I think I could draw up better plays in the dirt than what this coaching staff has. Squandering away time and talent.

See here is the full dynamics regarding the main bang issues with the Bengals... We all understand there's a realisticness of failed plays, sacks, fumbles, one yard plays, etc... But when you truly look at Cincinnati's talented offense, you can obviously tell that someone isn't strategizing the play calling with a true football mind!! For example every time it seems they want to lean on running the ball more they have success and then out of the blue start back being pass happy. I've always said to start running the ball more on single back I formations to allow the O Line to penetrate the D Line and it works. Start doing stretch plays which makes the defense bite a little bit and throw it off... Zach doesn't have any smart strategic play calling... Use your TE more in the middle and/or make special plays let the defense see he's a threat. The shotgun handoff doesn't bring enough penetration for the O Line or it doesn't allow the RB to penetrate or be selective with the running lanes.... Look at the Browns running plays and how they have always ran with Chubb.... Cincinnati never run trap plays... Pulling the guard plays!! Zach doesn't have a good football mind!!! He garbage!!

It just dawned on me. We were letting mike browns family run the show and went to a Super Bowl. All the sudden mike browns front and center and we are doing the same things that made Carson Palmer leave.
They have to run the ball better. Look back at their high scoring games, it wasn't a lot of run plays but they were effective. And I'm not talking about the end of the game when the defense is selling out to stop the run.
I feel like the Bengals did a good job with their their o-line offense because they went against those browns junkyard dogs and the main one was Myles Garrett and the rookie on the o-line passed a test

I believe Burton number will be called this game. Maybe I’m being too optimistic but I do believe we play very conservative against bad teams so that we don’t show hand too early. In order for us to have those sneaky plays against better teams. Is it the best approach HELL NO but that’s what I’ve seen in the past 3 weeks.

First, I think the offense needs to be explosive and keep the ball and control the clock. The defense I think is improving and can hold the Eagles as long as they can pressure Hurts, and stop the run. Second, Zack Taylor is the problem with this team, just like Marvin Lewis was the problem. He needs to stop calling horrible plays.
Charlie Jones should be a slot option. He showed excellent burst, contact running and body control on that kick return TD.
They got the guys. Just do the committee and mix it up on defenses. Surprise them with your guys in different looks. They got so much speed and skill sets on all these depth receivers, it shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
Jones isn’t that good or he would be an option. He’s a better kickoff returner than punt returner. He has straight ahead speed but can’t make anyone miss

Guy's here's the thing against good def/ def coordinators who use alot of cov-3/ shell too take away the explosive plays or against great CB at all 3 positions & safeties or when team's double-team chase & Tee and the 3 option yoshi is facing a good player someone has too get separation and make a play cause ZAC & this coaching staff doesn't help alot bye scheme or scheming players open or in game adjustments an ZAC seems too rely on Guy's just making that extra play against every def play is a counter play like cov-3/shell is when ZAC needs too run the ball but if the off line is getting the push it's not as affected using TEs is a mismatch but ZAC & the coaching staff has to put players into position to succeed also buy calling the right plays or scheming

If the Bengals can beat the Eagles CONVINCINGLY and quit going soft in the fourth quarter with run it up the middle plays then we can begin to have this convo. They lost to the Patriots, beat 3 of the worst teams in football and played it too close to win against the Chiefs and Ravens. Look at how the elite teams beat up on the Patriots, Panthers, Browns and Giants. They have been demolished and the Bengals kept most of those games pretty close. Barely beating 3 of the worst 4 teams in football and losing your home opener to the 1-6 Patriots isn't convincing. They have a talented squad but Zach Taylor gets out-coached. Some of our orange kool aid fans think fans like me are negative, we just want the team to have more common sense. Right now they clearly need a big bruiser running back to help with 3rd and short situations but they will do nothing, it's so frustrating. Look at how the Chiefs picked up Hunt and traded for Hopkins because the Chiefs organization is legit and doesn't take it's foot off the gas like the Bengals. Way too much competition this year, you have to be more aggressive in free agency or make trades and when the Bengals did they were more successful so why did they stop?

Eagles, Raiders, Ravens, Chargers and Steelers. The must wins are the Ravens and Steelers so they dont fall out of contention for the AFC north. They have to beat a Raider team that is not good. They need to beat then Eagles or Chargers...preferably both but realistically they need to go 5-1 minimum with wins at both Ravens and Steelers. This is why you dont want to start 0-3. We lost to New England ....at home... and they are 1-6. we have yet to beat a good team and have lost to one really bad team.
I still think we'll go 9-8 at best. The offense other than 2 games has not been good. No running game to speak of. The offense despite its weapons has never reached full potential. Zac is only average as a play caller. The O line only average if that. The defense played well but it was the Browns. In general the defense has been bad with a porous run defense and not exactly killing it on pass defense.

5th worst rushing offense in the NFL. Joe Burrow is still Joe Burrow. Stale play calling and design. Defense ranked bottom 1/3rd in the league in pretty much every category. Best case this is a .500 team that either won't make the playoffs or will get bounced in the first round. Really this is a horrible position to be in. They are not competitive with the top teams, but every win they do get just makes their draft position worse. I say it is time to blow it up.

Play calling is too much clock watching! We are so predictable. Give JB the RPO and calling audibles. He did this at LSU and had the talent to get the job done. Bengals cannot keep running the ball when it is not working.

I dont think the ravens game and browns game compare with the ending of the game. The ravens game they absolutely should have thrown the ball. 3 straight runs made no sense, but 1 of those was Joe changing the play. But against the browns, i do kind of understand the thinking. The offense has been a mess all day, Cody Ford getting abused, 15 point lead with 4 minutes to go. Just run the ball, use clock and make the browns use their timeouts. Dont make a bad day worse, drop back, Ford gets man handled by Garrett and strip sacks Joe.

We had a chance when Burrow was drafted to gradually assemble a strong team around our elite QB. Detroit did it around a lesser QB and they’re much better than us now. But I suspect it’s too late. Our defence, secondary, running game and coaching staff would all need revamping. Burrow would be in his 30s by then and past his prime. This ownership doesn’t deserve an NFL team. They’re too indifferent and incompetent.
