It's shot with a rig called a steadicam... it's a complete contraption that the cameraman wears/carries which counters and smooths out any movements of the cameraman making sure to have a clean shot without the bumps you have with a handheld camera... and the cameraman itself is led backwards by another person who guides the cameraman to make sure he/she doesn't trip
+Melina P I know! I was so confused XD I was like, "I could swear that's Jessie J...but that hair is wrong...that's not her...is it? I don't know!" So I had to look it up, and I was like, "I KNEW IT!" XD
One of the things I loved about this was the kinetic aspect to it. The camera was just constantly moving while she was and it makes you feel like you're right there in the party with everybody else.
How can something be so perfect! I'm obsessed with the real version but this performance of Jessie j is so amazing that i can watch it over and over again
I really enjoyed this live version. It was close enough to the original to not be jarring but it had it added really creative set design and production as well as a few songs that were not highlighted in the movie.
I'm not a huge Grease fanatic. I saw it in the theater when it first came out all those years ago. THIS song, however, is one of my favorite of all time.
This was awesome! Loved to see the backstage scene going on, and it set the tone for the whole musical which was spectacular! This show wss so much fun! Well done!👍🙂
I THOUGHT I recognized Barry "Doody" Pearl in this!!! I loved seeing those little throwbacks from the movie (and yes, I know it was originally a stage musical before the movie!)...delighted in seeing DiDi as well...and did anyone recognize the autoshop teacher?? I also saw the movie poster!!!
+Dawn Welch I loved the little throwbacks too! I saw Barry play Wilbur in my hometown's production of Hairspray almost five years ago presented by Musical Theatre West.

Was the first film I saw at the cinema around my eight years and that film marked my life, I was very moved and this version sung by Jessie J. was perfect, made me better acquainted with the work of Jessie J also Vanessa Hudgens, Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit and Carly Rae Jepsen, were perfect as all the flawless production.
I find this simply unbelievable. They must have rehearsed this a million times. Jessie J was probably super nervous, but voice and performance absolutely flawless
The camera man is the real MVP.
Yes!
i am guessing you don't mean minimum viable product lol what does mvp stand for where you are please?
Joznne Randle most valuable player
The unsung heroes
she soumds like davod crocket met god
I can't believe how they shot this man, this is incredible. That's one steady-ass cameraman!
Lol
It's shot with a rig called a steadicam... it's a complete contraption that the cameraman wears/carries which counters and smooths out any movements of the cameraman making sure to have a clean shot without the bumps you have with a handheld camera... and the cameraman itself is led backwards by another person who guides the cameraman to make sure he/she doesn't trip
it's not a man it's a woman, she just has short shairs
Could you imagine? All live?
The camera operator should have received a special Emmy Award for the amazing work #greaselive
This was actually pretty cool.. Also, Jessie J's vocals are on point considering how much she's moving around..
+Lanes24 shes always moving! I feel like the only time shes sitting down is for slower songs
I completely agree!
You should hear her sing with Marshmallows in her mouth on #TheReal
+Lanes24 Who could ask for anything more?
moi j.adore
She has one of the most powerful female voices I swear
You ever listen to sara brightman?
That made me laugh until I puked. Brightman is famous because she shagged ALW. She has all the vocal talent of a pasta bake.
i love how she ripped out her ear piece and immediately sounded more steady and less shaky, she's an icon
Seriously though I don’t know why she’s still so underrated she’s amazing
She is one of the best pop female vocalists EVER.
I love all the people with umbrellas and Jessie just like 'I come from England, it's cool' XD
*I don’t get it-*
Lottie Brearley because it always rains in England so she doesn’t need an umbrella as she’s used to it
Gemma Denton
*I live in England-*
Or she’s only in one scene... and there isn’t much hair or makeup that can be ruined in the couple minutes outside
@@jpetteys3801, or, _she has makeup that doesn't run_ .
Jessie's always doing England proud - YOU GO GUUUUUURL
Jesse J kicked off Grease Live with a vengeance just like I knew she was going to!
❤️❤️❤️ Jessie J killed this! I didn't even recognize her at first with that hair...I thought it was Pink but recognized her voice immediately.
+Melina P I know! I was so confused XD I was like, "I could swear that's Jessie J...but that hair is wrong...that's not her...is it? I don't know!" So I had to look it up, and I was like, "I KNEW IT!" XD
+Melina P Wow nice try though???
IceMetalPunk 😄😀
She’s literally one of the best female pop vocalist of all time , she doesn’t take that credit, Jessie J is vocal perfect.
"literally"
Not figuratively?
This was so much fun to watch, I cant imagine how electrifying it must have been to be a part of it.
The fact that they were willing to do this all in one shot was a bold choice.
This whole production is such an incredible feat!
I swear I got chills when Didi and Barry came out. Grease will always live. :)
+mommak10 I did too! I did too!
me too! I couldn't stop smiling when they came out!
+velvetroses And Didi still has that same sweet smile! :)
+mommak10 I think it was an EPIC idea to include them in all the fun
Manuel Orozco agreed!
She killed it! Her vocals were on point. You think no one can beat Franki Valli, but Jessie J rocked it.
She didn't beat Frank
Especially when you consider she's moving around the lot singing live in the rain
How bout Barry Gibb?
One of the things I loved about this was the kinetic aspect to it. The camera was just constantly moving while she was and it makes you feel like you're right there in the party with everybody else.
That's why these 'walking openings/introductions' are so great, especially _this_ one: th-cam.com/video/D32NEM7KCRk/w-d-xo.html
Not a big fan of any of the Live musicals, but this...this is fantastic.
I thought Grease and Hairspray were the best
coming from a grease fan who played the original movie over 100000 times lol, i love this version...live! amazing
I don't think a VHS can run that many times 😂😂😂
How can something be so perfect! I'm obsessed with the real version but this performance of Jessie j is so amazing that i can watch it over and over again
I don't see how anybody could not like this
By Christ, she nailed it.
I don't know why but this song always makes me cry and Jessie did a phenomenal job.
It’s a good song I like the original
@@milesbreen It's weird to think that from now on we are going to think of things as "before COVID" and "after COVID".
Same Lol. IMO, it's a perfectly structured song, plus it has 1970s nostalgia value for me.
god i think im going to cry. this is an awesome rendition of GREASE!!!!
The fact they pulled off a production of this size is insane
I absolutely love this rendition of this song from Grease! Jessie J absolutely nailed it, it was a brilliant performance!
She is just fabulous.
I wanna cry especially seeing characters from the actual movie. Goosebumps
I love the fact that it was all one continuous shot during the opening....that was so cool!!
What a performance...Jessie J tore it up!
OMG I love the part with Boys II Men.
Fun Fact: That Harmony is from their song Motown Philly.
i was absolutely obsessed with the original version, but then I heard Jessie sing it and I was like...😍😍😍😍
Her runs are amazings
No auto-tune and she still sounds AMAZING. Just saying
Lip syncing is a thing you know?
I've just watched this after hitting a epic Bong Rip, and I must say - Jessie J gets my respect and the Cameraman is the CHAMP.
I saw this when it first i aired. Love indication. Thank you.
She SLAAAAAAAYED! THIS PERFORMANCE GAVE ME SO MUCH LIFE!
I could not help but smile the entire time 😁
Oh I can't wait to see Jessie j and she's singing grease and I love you so much and can't wait to see the best of all time
this broadway production was amazing.. loved every second of it.
SO GOOD. UGh. I can just watch it over and over.
A huge responsibility that she nailed. all up!
Brought tears to my eyes, amazing british talent, our jessie. X
Yaaaassssssssss to this whole opening sequence!
People who are saying this was bad are stuck in the past and can't get over their nostalgia.
I’m a millennial who’s been a fan of Grease since 8th grade.
What a shot. Hats off for the performer, the cameraman and the asisstants around.
Anyone else cry every time they see this? It’s just so cool. It overwhelms me.
Loved that performance so much!
This was awesome! Loved to see the backstage scene going on, and it set the tone for the whole musical which was spectacular!
This show wss so much fun! Well done!👍🙂
+Ana Carreno Said it best!
JESSIE IS THE BEST OF WORLD
Me watching this again after hearing JessieJ's Cover of OWN MY OWN. Wow! We miss you JessieJ.
She is incredible x
Absolutely amazing. Jessie J absolutely nailed it!! ❤️
She is so good and makes me fall in love with this song so soulful 😍😍😍
One of my most favoured songs
re-done and looks and sounds great.
Fantastic choreography and the camera work is amazing!
omg perfection!
Why are people shooting this down? I think this is one of the best adaptions of Grease I've ever seen in my life.
I know. I knew it would be something special
1:46 "Makes me confusion"... gtfo.
@@baaldiablo8459”Mixed with confusion” It sounds similar, but she’s singing the correct lyrics.
I really didn't expect this performance from Jessie J but I loved it
I loved this song so much when I was little!
I am from London living in new Zealand. she fucking owned this.
She rocked this song ❤️
Exactly three years❤️
This is the best song from Grease Live
I LOVE HER VOICE.
this is awesome x
AMAZING! Glad a little rain didn't stop them!
+Melcat96 I'm glad too! In the tradition of the business, the show must go on.

Thanks for uploading this clip! Didn't see it on FOX's TH-cam channel.

I'm really not into Grease, but that was pretty incredible! Thanks for posting it!
She nailed it!
Jessie J is amazing x
This is gold!

Absolutely brilliant!
I remember watching the live version freshman year in theater class! Time flies by fast!
Perfect choice for this song. She performed it perfectly.

I find this simply unbelievable. They must have rehearsed this a million times. Jessie J was probably super nervous, but voice and performance absolutely flawless
Grease Is The Word is my favourite song in Grease Live
It takes a brave person to cover this song
