    I come from a kickboxing and JKD background and can say from experience that these types of drills work regardless of the style you practice. Speed and explosiveness turns into power.

    Hey Alex! You make great TKD videos, I love your content. I'm a TKD teacher, and I recommend your channel to my students. I wish you the best of luck on TH-cam, and in life. Question: I have seen clips of Olympic level TKD practitioner with amazing backwards moving back kicks. I think the secret is to move back with a weird little step so that the toes of your lead foot are pointed at the arch of your kicking foot right before you kick. (I hope I managed to be understandable, it's hard to put into text) but, I am not totally confident that I understand. I'd love to see your take on the fade away back kick.

    Nice! I imagine the next step is to mix them up and end up doing the kicking combo i like so much that is one kick with each leg and the feet barely touch the ground

    I've watched your videos for some time, thank you for the great tips! I have a request, as a taller TKD practitioner, my opponents love to rush close to me so I have difficulty to get my kicks off. What sort of techniques/drills would you suggest I practice to get that separation I need? Thank you for your time; look forward to your response.

    • @ytubejacksonj
      @ytubejacksonj 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Circle out to create a new angle for attacking the incoming rusher OR uppercut the rusher with the back hand (Do a step back with the lead leg and uppercut if you have to).

    • @cewas1
      @cewas1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Size does have its advantages and disadvantages. Being a smaller guy I need to rush in and close the pocket and lead-in with some good combinations. It's up to the lengthier individual to either move, teep-off (kick), and stick that jab in order to keep their opponent at bay. Use your length to your advantage and just keep utilizing that length to set up good combo's.

      You should use spinning back kick so you can counter while they are attacking and clinching in you

    • @ciaricky2287
      @ciaricky2287 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spinning back kick will separate the opponent from your circle then counter attack as soon as possible, being tall is always advantageous

    Hi alex! I'm a big fan of yours and I'm always viewing all your tkd vids. I'm a player way back in high school but now, I'm a coach. Can you have a video next time when it comes to power kicks? And proper execution of kicks. I just dont know anymore how to handle their form of kicks since I'm a little bit hopeless now seeing them kicking not in a proper manner. Help me 😕😂
