Oooh. One of the few houses that focused on styling; that really brought out the character of the owner. I love it 😻 (also the first of homes that Stacked covered that I’m seeing wallpaper, and done in a classy way too!)

The nicest bachelor's pad ever! Practical, comfortable and in good taste...that psuedo floral wallpaper epitomise his values and style- he is a good, no a great, Malay boy filled with warmth and generosity!!!!
I absolutely loved the way you designed your home! I love that this does not follow the typical hdb floorplan layout, i.e. living room area where the sofa and tv follows the suggested spaces, etc. I can also see the NYC inspiration throughout the entire home, vs the typical singaporean scandi style, which is so pretentious and boring. This my friend is genius and very authentic to your character.

Okay but in the first place what a rare floorplan for a 4 room unit! Notice how the floorplan design gave the entrance a small nook. You can't find that in most 4 room units.
oh this house quite famous, used a lot for commercial and TV shoots. but i prefer the older styling, as it was gentler and calmer. this one made it feel small 😔
I guess he was going for the manhattan industrial look with the exposed brick? I just feel its a loss that a home becomes "harder", when it is supposed to be a calm, gentle, nurturing place for its inhabitants.
50-60 k, that possible for me as single … be can I buy in my 28-30? I have wait till 35… feeling trap in house.. I have no independent in my house 🙄.. Find right one quickly for hdb is irritating.
Appreciate the effort in the space, money is his to use, but, would it have been better to keep 4-room HDBs for families who truly need it? Quite inefficient to have one person in a space that would have otherwise gone to a growing family.
Hey Eli! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! So long as there's a willing buyer and seller we think it's okay. The government can impose social housing policies such as limiting singles to certain flat sizes if this is an issue to be addressed, but we do think that the single population purchasing 4-room resale flats can help support prices there too, so we don't think it's a matter of housing needs for now. Of course, for BTOs it's a different story, and that's why they can only ballot for 2-room flats 😀

Hey! $90K does seem to be on a high side, even more so for $150K. Usually that's more of a budget if a lot of custom carpentry is done.
