      @rehaan6428 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Opponent would have captured the pawn using the knight and it would have been draw by insufficent material. Stockfish 16 at depth 50 evaluates it as a complete draw.

    • @benYaakov
      @benYaakov ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Because the knight will sacrifice itself to take the pawn and a king + horse cannot deliever checkmate. In other words, it's a draw either way. So if a draw is straightforward , it's wise to not waste time/energy to extend it.

    The prize fund for classical chess among men in 2023 will be 2 million euros. for women 500 thousand euros. 4 times less!!!
    Are women's ratings 4 times lower? Do women have 4 times fewer parties?
    This is humiliating and unfair to women. And this happens on a global level!
    Do women feel sorry for money?
    The prize must be the same for men and women! Because it's fair and equal!

    • @8964TS
      @8964TS ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Ju Wenjun is the highest rated woman at this tournament and she is ranked 340th in the world. In the Open Section-which btw is open to female players, it’s not a men’s competition-has 65 men higher rated than her, and most of those will go home empty handed. In other words, the women’s competition is a lower-rated event and they’re lucky to be getting even that level of prize money. You don’t find many Open’s with this ELO rating offering prize money that high.

    • @lessormore001
      @lessormore001 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, this is because the open group is available to all players, including women. It would be unfair if women received four times lower rewards if they could not play with men. But they can, and the open tournament is much more difficult, has more rounds and a much higher rating of participants. If a female player wins there, there is no obstacle for her to get the same prize as the males. They don't earn more because they are men, but because they play better in stronger tournaments. These women still receive much higher rewards than men with the same rating would receive.

    • @8964TS
      @8964TS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. A male GM rated 2575 rarely gets a realistic chance to win this much money. He either enters a higher rated event and comes nowhere near winning, or enters a lower rated event with little prize money.

    • @lessormore001
      @lessormore001 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@8964TS As for Ju Wenjun, she is just strong enough in ratings that she would have gained some qualification to play in the open if the women's section did not exist. Although she would most likely finish at the bottom of the table or top in the middle if she played exceptionally well. Therefore, it is not surprising that she decided to play with women where she is the favorite and even if she does not win, her place in the top 10 is rather certain. Actually, Ju Wenjun is also not the strongest women's overall, although she is in this tournament. Hou Yifan, who is stronger than her, perhaps a few years ago would have had a real chance to fight for a high, or at least decent, place in the open competition. With her best blitz rating of 2704 elo, she might not be tipped to win, but her chances of a good finishing position would certainly be relatively high. In her case, playing in this section could actually involve a better reward and be quite profitable, although certainly more risky. In the women's section of this tournament there are also women with very low ratings, such as 2200 elo, who, due to the level of play in this group, are sometimes even able to take high positions, which in the open section would be absolutely impossible for people with the same rating. What I mean by that is, if any woman was good enough and able to beat all the male open groups to take clear first place, then why not. Give her the same reward that the male ones get, I don't mind. If a woman wins the same world championship match that Ding, Carlsen or Anand won, let them receive the same amount of money as they did. But expect her to get the same amount for playing 300 elo worse? It's funny. It's not that I have anything against women playing well at chess. A few days ago, a little girl Bodhana Sivanandan played very well in the open tournament and won the best female award there. It's a women's award, but even if it didn't exist, the girl was still the best among all juniors under 12 (of both sexes), so she deserved the award anyway. She is only 8 years old and there is a real chance that soon she will not need such awards because she will be strong enough to become top 1 among all players at such tournaments. If this is the case, I strongly support her receiving the same rewards as her male opponents, but not by playing in women's tournaments.
