Fantastic track and performance. I really think they should lean harder into this kind of sound with Alissa in the band now. Her voice is magnificent and it could help make the group's sound a bit more dynamic.
as a new alissa fan club member i always read comments about her clean voice .i didn't pay attention to it first because i heard a glimpse of it in the world is yours and i was not impressed .but now that i heard this ,woaah .she is really talented .i'm inlove with her 😔
I was not familiar with Alissa prior to Arch Enemy. People have said she was a clean singing vocalist as well as growls but this is my first time hearing it. Sounds good her clean vocals sound kind of like Lzzy Hale but an octave lower.
Bern DJ Schuster: Another (I think) compliment for “Reason To Believe”: the featured female guest vocalist displays similar technique AND sound in “Temptation” by Cradle of Filth. Not exactly a torch song like the Arch Enemy departure - but vocals are also red hot.
One of my favorites by Arch Enemy. Like novel “The Godfather” by Mario Puzo, this song is excellent for choosing to continue living and breathing. She tackles a rough topic and I seem to remember another performance where she walked away in mid song, possibly to compose herself. I don’t know; I do respect her personal privacy and I’m definitely a long time fan and saw them live recently, finally - and was really inspired by their awesome performance. The sound was incredible, extremely clear notes - a pleasant loudness - not too shrill, just very intense and emotional. Lots of depth from this band.
Hopefully AE reads this stuff and see how much we want to hear Alissa's clean voice, so peaceful, soothing! But if they want to limit their audience that's their choice.
It's such a damn shame she doesn't do more cleans in Arch Enemy. One of my top 5 female metal vocalists when it comes to both singing and growling, but for me Angela has always been the better growler in AE, and Alissa great at both and I think it's a damn shame they're neglecting her singing voice. I'm one of the people who used to like The Agonist (still like their older albums) and it's painful to know just how good she is at singing, and then see her singing completely neglected...
