I would absolutely pick this up, as it fits remarkably the wuxing based TTRPG i made for.myself. (Strickly for personal use as it's mostly just cut an paste from other systems I like with home brew glue holding it together😂 )
You're in luck! I wrote one up and put it on DriveThruRPG since I posted the video. It's pay what you want; anything is appreciated! 🙏 www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/503576/guide-to-factions?affiliate_id=4316964
Hey! Yeah, I would love this in guide format. This is a particularly good and, dare I say, valuable video. The reason being how well this philosophy reflects real-life. Several times during your talk you put into words concepts and ideas that for many-including myself-remain fleeting and intangible, yet always present throughout our lives. Thank you very much for sharing! I will make sure to sign up to the newsletter at once!
@@StagRPG A video is not the best format for communicating thought, and the reason for it resonating with me so well may be because I have worked with communicating complex concepts in large corportions for many years. Still, it got me thinking and ignited something in me to further research this so that I may better help others understand why some things are as they are. I love it when my undying passion-I swear to never make it my job-for solo role-playing leads me to general wisdom.
@@reelneim I do a lot of corporate consulting / explaining, too. There's a lot more to the Wu Xing system that makes it a handy framework for interpreting Corporate Speak into a language you can understand. Or overly-specific technical lingo. Or any number of other places where each silo has their own name for the same concepts that all bother organizations. It's useful stuff!
this was a vey useful video! I am just starting a new game using the Proactive Roleplaying method and was working on a template for faction creating. I took the transcript from your video and put it into notebooklm and had it create a tracking sheet as well as a teaching guide that explained the whole method in great detail. Took about 3 minutes. Thank you for the info!
Well, in a way it is! It's a solid basis of making sure all factions have avenues to success, opportunities to lose, and keep it all intelligible for the DM.

Oh, and I'd be interested in seeing the cobbled-together homebrew you have.
Excellent job stretching that metaphor to metal generating water; love the commitment to the structure!
🙏
It's baked into the original system; I wouldn't have been smart enough to come up with that.
@@StagRPG Well, you still get credit for thinking the big thinks about D&D!
🧠
I would vastly prefer this in a PDF! Let me give you money on DTRPG!
This is an effective way to get me to do things...

Music to my ears; exactly what I was going for. Happy to know it landed for you. 🙏

That's genius; great idea!
I thought this was a really good use of that time. I would definitely put a guide and work sheet
Thank you!

Very interesting!
Hope it's useful, too! ::high five::
@ definitely! I’m working on a project that focuses on factions and I like to hear people’s perspectives
I'm so sorry, but this makes me think of Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock 😂.
