I have played and run a lot of different Cyberpunk TTRPGs and The Sprawl is my favorite one. We never felt rushed while playing The Sprawl and we had some excellent character moments during the campaign. My favorite part of The Sprawl is the collaborative worldbuilding where each player and the GM create a corporation that will be featured during the game. None of the characters died but there were some tense moments. For us, the timeline and the mission clock informed what the opposition was doing rather than making us feel like we had to hurry through the mission.

I think if you want PBTA / BITD vibes CBR+PNK would be worth looking into. That or CY_BORG, but that's based off of mork borg (still fits the 'life is cheap' theme).

That shirt is really cool even better because you made it yourself . The sprawl sounds interesting to me I do like the idea of a Shadowrun pbta game .

I've played a few great sessions of this game. The clocks are important in terms of the focus on essentially doing things that armed security would rather you not pull off. Most of our games felt like Cyberpunk Cohen Brothers films more than "The Matrix". Things went sideways fast. I agree that It could have been done with the forged in the dark system, but it still works quite well as a representation of the genre. There is also a supplement which adds in the magic and non human options for PCs that you would find in Shadowrun. It would be interesting to have a series where you play the same adventure with say The Sprawl, CY-BORG, Shadowrun Anarchy and Cyberpunk Red. You really only get so far in being able to speak to the merits of a game by reading it.

So cool! And great review! I love the William Gibson novels - well, Neuromancer was much better than the others in my opinion… but the Sprawl is probably the closest to the trilogy. I have the books sitting on my shelf, you’ve given me a push to pick them up again.

The shirt is cool and certainly fits the theme.
I'm a big Cyberpunk fan (Cyberpunk 2020 is a favorite), but something about this one didn't seem right when I first looked at it. I think you're review gets at that. I'm not 100% sold on PotA as it is, but this particular version seems off. As you say, perhaps a second edition, maybe using Forged in the Dark would work better.
As far as Shadowrun, I know some folks love it, but it always left me cold. I don't really like adding Tolkien-esque Fantasy folk to Cyberpunk. Also, it's had like six editions, yet even its fans still complain about the system. You'd think in six editions you could make a game system folks actually like. The one thing I'll give Shadowrun is that it spawned Earthdawn, which is supposed to be Shadowrun's ancient history. I used to say it was the closest thing to D&D I actually enjoyed playing. Though that's now been topped by Dungeon Crawl Classics. But Earthdawn addressed a lot of things I always found off-putting about D&D. It even made levels work for me, and I don't like levels at all. Plus, it had some great lore, which I'm a sucker for.

I think the short fits the theme very well and its awsome that you made it yourself!

Trans-humanism is such a cool theme in the cyberpunk genre, I wish there was a game that just focused on that idea.

Check out Eclipse Phase. It is entirely about transhumanism.

The Veil is another PbtA game with a more Transhuman setting. GURPS Transhuman Space and ICRPG's Altered States setting also fit, plus EP as mentioned below.

Left a comment (deleted?) about a game on itch called Runners in the Shadow with brings Shadowrun to PbtA in a FitD system. Its all about missions and you're living in a gig economy gone wrong. But for cyberpunk I would take a close look at the IronSworn Starforged 'hack' called Cyberforged. It might be more suitable for 'open word' kind of play.

A friend of mine made a cyberpunk game called LowLife 2090. If your into this kind of setting and you're looking for something fantastic to play. I can't suggest it enough. I'll try to send him your way if you're interested in looking at more Cyberpunk games.
