- On today's episode of Homeworthy we're bringing you to Connecticut for an inside look into interior decorator Libby Cameron's layered and colorful home. An avid animal lover, Libby has incorporated vibrant wildlife motifs around every corner - from printed fabrics and brass figurines to artwork and rugs, not to mention her litter of adorable Labrador puppies!
Libby opened Libby Cameron LLC in 1995 after spending 14 years at Parish-Hadley, Inc. in New York City; she became a partner at Parish-Hadley in 1989. A protégé of famed decorator Sister Parish, Libby is known for her love of color and eclectic style. She mixes family heirlooms with new pieces, giving her rooms a warm and lively charm and creating luxurious yet comfortable rooms for high-end residential projects across the country and elsewhere.

When she said the hatrack in the foyer was nothing special....I thought what!!!!! is looks special and unique to me and fits that little alcove pace perfectly! I love it. And the little golden sunflower mirror is amazing. Every room was filled with treasures and stories. And I love that she loves waking up and seeing something beautiful. I feel the same....... a candle glowing... the pattern of sunlight through a sheer panel.. art.. books.. flowers. These are what make life special
How wonderful. Finally a real home tour. Our hostess was so lovely and she knew names, places and things I could have never remembered. She displays things so well and near/dear to her. Her love of animals is so genuine. We so need more beautiful home tours that are 'home worthy'. Thank you!!

That is so true about people who don’t like animals, I had a friend once who didn’t like coming into my house because of my dogs, guess what she is no longer my friend. But my dogs are.🥰

I can relate to her comment on being a homebody and being surrounded by beautiful familiar objects. There is something therapeutic about coming home to rooms filled with memories. I loved hearing the history behind her collections.
This is one of my favorite videos here. I loved the pedigree of all her beautiful things and that she has kept those memories in her heart. I do that, too. I felt like I was watching her reveal that heart and it's a lovely one - how could it not be with her little family of dogs. And I was touched that she said her home meant solace to her. I love this splendid home, so full of meaningful pieces, delightful whimsy and tasteful abundance. The warm colors drew me in and her calm, off-hand narration about her love of animals, her adorable dogs, and her family provide a warmth and pleasant background for the viewer.

I think next to Bunny Williams homes, this is my absolute favourite! Particularly the library. As an animal lover, I could sit in there, with a coffee, just looking at all those beautiful animal collectables. What a lovely lady. More importantly, she loves dogs! Doesn't get any better😊

I really, really enjoyed looking at all of the individual pieces. It's kind of incredible how many cool furniture pieces and art she got from family and people she knew. Everything is fascinating.
I really love her home. I love the eclectic things that she has received over the years. She just seems like a genuinely nice person❤ and I am a dog person, I love her dogs, although I could never have that many..this is one of the best homes and interviews that I have seen in a long time on here ❤ thank you for bringing her to us.

There have been many homes on here that I’ve loved and designers that I enjoyed, but never, ever has a home and a homeowner spoke so deeply to my soul! The animals got me first of all, then the dogs, and the upholstery fabrics, and the colors, and the decorative pieces, and the art, and the stories, and…I could just keep going. Oh, my goodness, I love this house. I have a separate room for my many dogs too, otherwise I'd never get any work done. I adore all the animal artwork, mixed patterns, and items collected over the years, like in an English country home. Having a pond and all that nature just in the backyard would be a dream come true.

Truly love this one of Libby Cameron's stories attached to her home decor items. I could imagine curled up some spring afternoon with a good book, great pot of tea and have off and on conversations with her. I think I would love to hear her ramblings and think she would be generous enough to put up with mine. I am also an animal lover and see some similarities to things in my designs. Thank you for introducing me to Libby.

This was so enjoyable! I, at 62, have also only lived in 3-4 places my entire life. It’s not frightening to me, it’s comforting. I think it stems from the fact that until 16/17 I grew up in one house so I associate it with stability. I’ve been in my current space for 34yrs. My next move won’t be until I retire.
One of my favourite home tours, despite hating yellow and especially yellow walls; The home is beautiful, warm and interesting. The print mixing is incredible. Libby and her dogs are equally wonderful.

Thank you for such an intimate & beautiful home tour. 'm going to share this one with my Mom a Veteran, who will be 80 next month. She has mild cognitive dementia from being on oxygen 24/7 & her lungs not quite balancing the oxygen & carbon dioxide well. She's brilliant though & still has amazing intuition & emotional intelligence & so far having this for 8 yrs without any negative aspects of it I feel unusually blessed.
A part of my mom's dementia that I find to be especially beautiful is that she no longer worries or has any negative attitude, she's so appreciative of life's little gifts & she's become obsessed with goldens & yellow labs, & also the bunnies in the backyard now that we no longer have dogs :( My beloved dog passed away 2 weeks after I was served divorce papers a few years ago.
My Mom will actually watch home decor shows with me now whereas before she'd roll her eyes, another blessing. Sadly, it's the first time in our lives that I or my folks haven't had dogs but due to the responsibility of caregiving & with aides in/out of the home unfortunately I can't bring any in.
Though I'm in my early 50s, I haven't given up my dream of having a large, beautiful home filled with the love of dogs til' then, there's Homeworthy!
Oh, that otter!, I would love to get one. I also have animals spread throughout my apartment, I have a sheep and her baby in the entrance welcoming visitors, you can actually seat on them (not on the baby, of course). This lady is lovely, thanks for sharing!

I love the layers and layers of beautiful, meaningful things to her life. Nothing worse than someone who buys because of branding or cost, but has no warmth or meaning. Libby was so casual and sincere. I knew instantly I would like her when I saw the Dutch door and the dogs! Thank you for showing us your beautiful home and being unapologetic that your kitchen isn't a high-end makeover that never gets used. Truly a lovely home.
