I've had my Scrambler 1200XC since 2020 and thus far it's been 26,000 miles of trouble-free fun. I live and work in the hinterlands of southern California's Mojave Desert and find that the bike is ideal for the mix of asphalt and unimproved roads I find myself travelling on. Triumph really did well with this machine!

It is truly a great bike. I had a Tiger 800 and a Speed Twin before this. I wanted something with the Tiger’s capability but with the Speed Twin’s good looks. The Scrambler 1200 xc is a great compromise. Thanks for your comment.

Very nice riding location. If I want to do some offroad. I have always to ride across to Italy or France. My location is Switzerland. Hope I can make it one day over and ride your Green Lines.🏁

I’m not much of an off-road rider - but it’s nice to know the Scrambler can rise to the occasion!

Been over Houndkirk today on my enduro bike! It's the usual starting point for my off road "tour" but it's little more than a gravel track these days although it's very dry at the moment and can be a little trickier in wet weather. I also have a Triumph Street Scrambler which I love and is even more road orientated than the 1200 Scrambler. I have done a couple of VERY tame green lanes on it but, TBH, it's way too heavy and too much of a design compromise for anything more serious.

Hope you had a good ride. I did the Triumph Scrambler off-road experience recently on much tougher trails - I was riding the XC, there were guys on XE’s too. There were even some Street Scramblers which did really well given they’re not really designed for this at all. But if you’re serious about off road riding then I agree these aren’t the bikes you’d choose. Too heavy and expensive. I bought the XC for mostly on road rides and touring but I wanted something I could take off the tarmac if needed. It fits the bill perfectly. Just for the record I think this Street Scrambler is the best looking of all the Triumph modern classics. Thanks for your comment.

@@spodokomoto5020 If I didn't already have the enduro bike I would almost certainly have gone for the 1200 over the SS, with it's greater dual sport capability. 👍As it is, I use the SS as a general run around and for back roads use which it's really good at. The extra grunt of the 1200 would be nice but the 900 is fast enough for the use I put it to.😀
