Also, I'm team molded hair for the Ken's since I like how they can mold any short hairstyles for them that with rooted hair, it can be somewhat hard to implement in doll form.
But if we think in a business perspective, that may not be possible considering making non articulated fashionistas and super articulated made to move Barbies seperately can generate more sales as collectors and doll lovers will buy the made to move dolls and the fashionistas together to do the body swap.. I think they may have thought in this angle way back, as collectors have anyway been asking Mattel for articulated fashionistas for ages and yet they do not do so 😂
I love the way you did 180's hair. It's so much cuter in the twists than the space buns and fro. Though, to be honest, I have kinda been absolutely in love with twists and braids recently, I've been wanting to give them to a bunch of my dolls.
Count me as team sculpted hair too. I remember those original Ken fashionista haircuts and in a word? YIKES! The sculpted also allows more hair types and diversity. A very nice solution IMO The makeovers on your favorites are pitch perfect.

Sometimes the rooted hair guy dolls is ok. I love that orange dress. I agree that it would be great in other colors.

I didn't like the blonde's hair at all, and thought she was an ugly doll, until you TWISTED IT! And now I think she's about the prettiest doll I ever saw! I love her SO much!!! I get very distracted by hair, and it makes it hard for me to notice the face sometimes.

Also, kinda surprised Toya hasn't done any doll reviews of the dolls from Disney's Encanto! SPEAKING of Disney....It'd be really great if the Disney Store teamed up with Mattel and made the Disney Dolls with Made to Move bodies! ESPECIALLY since there's been another diversity with the addition of the Colombian characters in Encanto, and with different body types!

I wish Mattel would use the same colour plastics for their dolls (ie match up m2m with fashionistas) - diversity is one thing but every new doll seems to be a new colour and the differences can be really jarring when rebodying. I have fashionista #90 - bought her as used from eBay with the hope of giving her an articulated body (don’t even mind if she isn’t full m2m as long as she can bend a bit!). She has very dark skin and there is currently no articulated doll that comes close. But even the blonds seem to have 1001 skin shades now.
I adore 179's face sculpt. looks just like my best friend. I would have to reroot a nice fro for her or some box braids. eeee now I have ideas for a surprise gift.

OMG! That makeover on the tall doll went from a “meh” doll for me to an “OMG I NEED HER!!!”
Its a genial idea to put Barbie clothes in a binder.That makes them more organized.And the fact you never lose them again is the cherry on top.

Unfortunately, Mattel lost their license to make Disney dolls a while ago. Hasbro has the license now and Hasbro has been making the Disney dolls.

For the guys molded hair is the way to go. The rooted hair never seems to lay right when the style is a shorter cut.
